Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the
fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief
and a robber. |
よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。羊の囲いにはいるのに、門からでなく、ほかの所からのりこえて来る者は、盗人であり、強盗である。 |

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. |
門からはいる者は、羊の羊飼である。 |
| 10-3 |
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth
his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. |
門番は彼のために門を開き、羊は彼の声を聞く。そして彼は自分の羊の名をよんで連れ出す。 |
| 10-4 |
When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep
follow him: for they know his voice. |
自分の羊をみな出してしまうと、彼は羊の先頭に立って行く。羊はその声を知っているので、彼について行くのである。 |
| 10-5 |
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know
not the voice of strangers. |
ほかの人には、ついて行かないで逃げ去る。その人の声を知らないからである」。 |

parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things
they were which he spake unto them. |
イエスは彼らにこの比喩を話されたが、彼らは自分たちにお話しになっているのが何のことだか、わからなかった。 |

Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I
am the door of the sheep. |
そこで、イエスはまた言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしは羊の門である。 |
| 10-8 |
All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not
hear them. |
わたしよりも前にきた人は、みな盗人であり、強盗である。羊は彼らに聞き従わなかった。 |
| 10-9 |
I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall
go in and go out, and shall find pasture. |
わたしは門である。わたしをとおってはいる者は救われ、また出入りし、牧草にありつくであろう。 |
| 10-10 |
The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and
destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. |
盗人が来るのは、盗んだり、殺したり、滅ぼしたりするためにほかならない。わたしがきたのは、羊に命を得させ、豊かに得させるためである。 |
| 10-11 |
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the
sheep. |
わたしはよい羊飼である。よい羊飼は、羊のために命を捨てる。 |
| 10-12 |
He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep
are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the
wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth them: |
羊飼ではなく、羊が自分のものでもない雇人は、おおかみが来るのを見ると、羊をすてて逃げ去る。そして、おおかみは羊を奪い、また追い散らす。 |

he fleeth because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. |
彼は雇人であって、羊のことを心にかけていないからである。 |
| 10-14 |
I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, |
わたしはよい羊飼であって、わたしの羊を知り、わたしの羊はまた、わたしを知っている。 |
| 10-15 |
even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my
life for the sheep. |
それはちょうど、父がわたしを知っておられ、わたしが父を知っているのと同じである。そして、わたしは羊のために命を捨てるのである。 |
| 10-16 |
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring,
and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd. |
わたしにはまた、この囲いにいない他の羊がある。わたしは彼らをも導かねばならない。彼らも、わたしの声に聞き従うであろう。そして、ついに一つの群れ、ひとりの羊飼となるであろう。 |

Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may
take it again. |
父は、わたしが自分の命を捨てるから、わたしを愛して下さるのである。命を捨てるのは、それを再び得るためである。 |
| 10-18 |
No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power
to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received
I from my Father. |
だれかが、わたしからそれを取り去るのではない。わたしが、自分からそれを捨てるのである。わたしには、それを捨てる力があり、またそれを受ける力もある。これはわたしの父から授かった定めである」。 |

There arose a division again among the Jews because of these words. |
これらの言葉を語られたため、ユダヤ人の間にまたも分争が生じた。 |
| 10-20 |
And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why hear ye him? |
そのうちの多くの者が言った、「彼は悪霊に取りつかれて、気が狂っている。どうして、あなたがたはその言うことを聞くのか」。 |
| 10-21 |
Others said, These are not the sayings of one possessed with a demon. Can
a demon open the eyes of the blind? |
他の人々は言った、「それは悪霊に取りつかれた者の言葉ではない。悪霊は盲人の目をあけることができようか」。 |
| 10-22 |
And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem: |
そのころ、エルサレムで宮きよめの祭が行われた。時は冬であった。 |
| 10-23 |
it was winter; and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon’s porch. |
イエスは、宮の中にあるソロモンの廊を歩いておられた。 |
| 10-24 |
The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost
thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly. |
するとユダヤ人たちが、イエスを取り囲んで言った、「いつまでわたしたちを不安のままにしておくのか。あなたがキリストであるなら、そうとはっきり言っていただきたい」。 |
| 10-25 |
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believe not: the works that I do
in my Father’s name, these bear witness of me. |
イエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしは話したのだが、あなたがたは信じようとしない。わたしの父の名によってしているすべてのわざが、わたしのことをあかししている。 |

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep. |
あなたがたが信じないのは、わたしの羊でないからである。 |
| 10-27 |
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: |
わたしの羊はわたしの声に聞き従う。わたしは彼らを知っており、彼らはわたしについて来る。 |
| 10-28 |
and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no
one shall snatch them out of my hand. |
わたしは、彼らに永遠の命を与える。だから、彼らはいつまでも滅びることがなく、また、彼らをわたしの手から奪い去る者はない。 |
| 10-29 |
My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than
all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. |
わたしの父がわたしに下さったものは、すべてにまさるものである。そしてだれも父のみ手から、それを奪い取ることはできない。 |
| 10-30 |
I and the Father are one. |
わたしと父とは一つである」。 |
| 10-31 |
The Jews took up stones again to stone him. |
そこでユダヤ人たちは、イエスを打ち殺そうとして、また石を取りあげた。 |
| 10-32 |
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father;
for which of those works do ye stone me? |
するとイエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしは、父による多くのよいわざを、あなたがたに示した。その中のどのわざのために、わたしを石で打ち殺そうとするのか」。 |
| 10-33 |
The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy;
and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. |
ユダヤ人たちは答えた、「あなたを石で殺そうとするのは、よいわざをしたからではなく、神を汚したからである。また、あなたは人間であるのに、自分を神としているからである」。 |
| 10-34 |
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? |
イエスは彼らに答えられた、「あなたがたの律法に、『わたしは言う、あなたがたは神々である』と書いてあるではないか。 |
| 10-35 |
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture
cannot be broken), |
神の言を託された人々が、神々といわれておるとすれば、（そして聖書の言は、すたることがあり得ない） |
| 10-36 |
say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,
Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? |
父が聖別して、世につかわされた者が、『わたしは神の子である』と言ったからとて、どうして『あなたは神を汚す者だ』と言うのか。 |
| 10-37 |
If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. |
もしわたしが父のわざを行わないとすれば、わたしを信じなくてもよい。 |
| 10-38 |
But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye
may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father. |
しかし、もし行っているなら、たといわたしを信じなくても、わたしのわざを信じるがよい。そうすれば、父がわたしにおり、また、わたしが父におることを知って悟るであろう」。 |

They sought again to take him: and he went forth out of their hand. |
そこで、彼らはまたイエスを捕えようとしたが、イエスは彼らの手をのがれて、去って行かれた。 |
| 10-40 |
he went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was
at the first baptizing; and there be abode. |
さて、イエスはまたヨルダンの向こう岸、すなわち、ヨハネが初めにバプテスマを授けていた所に行き、そこに滞在しておられた。 |
| 10-41 |
And many came unto him; and they said, John indeed did no sign: but all
things whatsoever John spake of this man were true. |
多くの人々がイエスのところにきて、互に言った、「ヨハネはなんのしるしも行わなかったが、ヨハネがこのかたについて言ったことは、皆ほんとうであった」。 |

And many believed on him there. |
そして、そこで多くの者がイエスを信じた。 |
