And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother
of Jesus was there: |
三日目にガリラヤのカナに婚礼があって、イエスの母がそこにいた。 |

and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage. |
イエスも弟子たちも、その婚礼に招かれた。 |
| 2-3 |
And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They
have no wine. |
ぶどう酒がなくなったので、母はイエスに言った、「ぶどう酒がなくなってしまいました」。 |
| 2-4 |
And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour
is not yet come. |
イエスは母に言われた、「婦人よ、あなたは、わたしと、なんの係わりがありますか。わたしの時は、まだきていません」。 |
| 2-5 |
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. |
母は僕たちに言った、「このかたが、あなたがたに言いつけることは、なんでもして下さい」。 |
| 2-6 |
Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner
of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece. |
そこには、ユダヤ人のきよめのならわしに従って、それぞれ四、五斗もはいる石の水がめが、六つ置いてあった。 |
| 2-7 |
Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them
up to the brim. |
イエスは彼らに「かめに水をいっぱい入れなさい」と言われたので、彼らは口のところまでいっぱいに入れた。 |
| 2-8 |
And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast.
And they bare it. |
そこで彼らに言われた、「さあ、くんで、料理がしらのところに持って行きなさい」。すると、彼らは持って行った。 |
| 2-9 |
And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew
not whence it was (but the servants that had drawn the water knew), the
ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom, |
料理がしらは、ぶどう酒になった水をなめてみたが、それがどこからきたのか知らなかったので、（水をくんだ僕たちは知っていた）花婿を呼んで |

and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and
when men have drunk freely, then that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now. |
言った、「どんな人でも、初めによいぶどう酒を出して、酔いがまわったころにわるいのを出すものだ。それだのに、あなたはよいぶどう酒を今までとっておかれました」。 |

This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested
his glory; and his disciples believed on him. |
イエスは、この最初のしるしをガリラヤのカナで行い、その栄光を現された。そして弟子たちはイエスを信じた。 |
| 2-12 |
After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and
his brethren, and his disciples; and there they abode not many days. |
そののち、イエスは、その母、兄弟たち、弟子たちと一緒に、カペナウムに下って、幾日かそこにとどまられた。 |
| 2-13 |
And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to
Jerusalem. |
さて、ユダヤ人の過越の祭が近づいたので、イエスはエルサレムに上られた。 |
| 2-14 |
And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and
the changers of money sitting: |
そして牛、羊、はとを売る者や両替する者などが宮の庭にすわり込んでいるのをごらんになって、 |
| 2-15 |
and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the
sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew
their tables; |
なわでむちを造り、羊も牛もみな宮から追いだし、両替人の金を散らし、その台をひっくりかえし、 |
| 2-16 |
and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make
not my Father’s house a house of merchandise. |
はとを売る人々には「これらのものを持って、ここから出て行け。わたしの父の家を商売の家とするな」と言われた。 |
| 2-17 |
His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall
eat me up. |
弟子たちは、「あなたの家を思う熱心が、わたしを食いつくすであろう」と書いてあることを思い出した。 |
| 2-18 |
The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto
us, seeing that thou doest these things? |
そこで、ユダヤ人はイエスに言った、「こんなことをするからには、どんなしるしをわたしたちに見せてくれますか」。 |
| 2-19 |
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days
I will raise it up. |
イエスは彼らに答えて言われた、「この神殿をこわしたら、わたしは三日のうちに、それを起すであろう」。 |
| 2-20 |
The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in
building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? |
そこで、ユダヤ人たちは言った、「この神殿を建てるのには、四十六年もかかっています。それだのに、あなたは三日のうちに、それを建てるのですか」。 |
| 2-21 |
But he spake of the temple of his body. |
イエスは自分のからだである神殿のことを言われたのである。 |
| 2-22 |
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that
he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus
had said. |
それで、イエスが死人の中からよみがえったとき、弟子たちはイエスがこう言われたことを思い出して、聖書とイエスのこの言葉とを信じた。 |

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed
on his name, beholding his signs which he did. |
過越の祭の間、イエスがエルサレムに滞在しておられたとき、多くの人々は、その行われたしるしを見て、イエスの名を信じた。 |
| 2-24 |
But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men, |
しかしイエスご自身は、彼らに自分をお任せにならなかった。それは、すべての人を知っておられ、 |
| 2-25 |
and because he needed not that any one should bear witness
concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man. |
また人についてあかしする者を、必要とされなかったからである。それは、ご自身人の心の中にあることを知っておられたからである。 |
