| 15-1 |
Now all the publicans and sinners were drawing near unto him to hear him. |
さて、取税人や罪人たちが皆、イエスの話を聞こうとして近寄ってきた。 |
| 15-2 |
both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth
sinners, and eateth with them. |
するとパリサイ人や律法学者たちがつぶやいて、「この人は罪人たちを迎えて一緒に食事をしている」と言った。 |
| 15-3 |
And he spake unto them this parable, saying, |
そこでイエスは彼らに、この譬をお話しになった、 |
| 15-4 |
What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, doth
not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which
is lost, until he find it? |
「あなたがたのうちに、百匹の羊を持っている者がいたとする。その一匹がいなくなったら、九十九匹を野原に残しておいて、いなくなった一匹を見つけるまでは捜し歩かないであろうか。 |
| 15-5 |
And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders,
rejoicing. |
そして見つけたら、喜んでそれを自分の肩に乗せ、 |
| 15-6 |
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and his neighbors,
saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was
lost. |
家に帰ってきて友人や隣り人を呼び集め、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。いなくなった羊を見つけましたから』と言うであろう。 |
| 15-7 |
say unto you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven over one
sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance. |
よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、悔改めを必要としない九十九人の正しい人のためにもまさる大きいよろこびが、天にあるであろう。 |
| 15-8 |
Or what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth
not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek diligently until she find
it? |
また、ある女が銀貨十枚を持っていて、もしその一枚をなくしたとすれば、彼女はあかりをつけて家中を掃き、それを見つけるまでは注意深く捜さないであろうか。 |
| 15-9 |
And when she hath found it, she calleth together her friends and neighbors,
saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I had lost. |
そして、見つけたなら、女友だちや近所の女たちを呼び集めて、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。なくした銀貨が見つかりましたから』と言うであろう。 |
| 15-10 |
Even so, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of
God over one sinner that repenteth. |
よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、神の御使たちの前でよろこびがあるであろう」。 |
| 15-11 |
And he said, A certain man had two sons: |
また言われた、「ある人に、ふたりのむすこがあった。 |
| 15-12 |
and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the
portion of thy substance that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. |
ところが、弟が父親に言った、『父よ、あなたの財産のうちでわたしがいただく分をください』。そこで、父はその身代をふたりに分けてやった。 |
| 15-13 |
And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took
his journey into a far country; and there he wasted his substance with
riotous living. |
それから幾日もたたないうちに、弟は自分のものを全部とりまとめて遠い所へ行き、そこで放蕩に身を持ちくずして財産を使い果した。 |
| 15-14 |
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that country;
and he began to be in want. |
何もかも浪費してしまったのち、その地方にひどいききんがあったので、彼は食べることにも窮しはじめた。 |
| 15-15 |
And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country;
and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. |
そこで、その地方のある住民のところに行って身を寄せたところが、その人は彼を畑にやって豚を飼わせた。 |
| 15-16 |
And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did
eat: and no man gave unto him. |
彼は、豚の食べるいなご豆で腹を満たしたいと思うほどであったが、何もくれる人はなかった。 |
| 15-17 |
But when he came to himself he said, How many hired servants of my father’s
have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger! |
そこで彼は本心に立ちかえって言った、『父のところには食物のあり余っている雇人が大ぜいいるのに、わたしはここで飢えて死のうとしている。 |
| 15-18 |
I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have
sinned against heaven, and in thy sight: |
立って、父のところへ帰って、こう言おう、父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。 |
| 15-19 |
I am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of thy hired
servants. |
もう、あなたのむすこと呼ばれる資格はありません。どうぞ、雇人のひとり同様にしてください』。 |
| 15-20 |
And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his
father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his
neck, and kissed him. |
そこで立って、父のところへ出かけた。まだ遠く離れていたのに、父は彼をみとめ、哀れに思って走り寄り、その首をだいて接吻した。 |
| 15-21 |
And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in
thy sight: I am no more worthy to be called thy son. |
むすこは父に言った、『父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。もうあなたのむすこと呼ばれる資格はありません』。 |
| 15-22 |
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth quickly the best
robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: |
しかし父は僕たちに言いつけた、『さあ、早く、最上の着物を出してきてこの子に着せ、指輪を手にはめ、はきものを足にはかせなさい。 |
| 15-23 |
and bring the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and make merry: |
また、肥えた子牛を引いてきてほふりなさい。食べて楽しもうではないか。 |
| 15-24 |
for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.
And they began to be merry. |
このむすこが死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから』。それから祝宴がはじまった。 |
| 15-25 |
Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the
house, he heard music and dancing. |
ところが、兄は畑にいたが、帰ってきて家に近づくと、音楽や踊りの音が聞えたので、 |
| 15-26 |
And he called to him one of the servants, and inquired what these things
might be. |
ひとりの僕を呼んで、『いったい、これは何事なのか』と尋ねた。 |
| 15-27 |
And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the
fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. |
僕は答えた、『あなたのご兄弟がお帰りになりました。無事に迎えたというので、父上が肥えた子牛をほふらせなさったのです』。 |
| 15-28 |
But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out,
and entreated him. |
兄はおこって家にはいろうとしなかったので、父が出てきてなだめると、 |
| 15-29 |
But he answered and said to his father, Lo, these many years do I
serve thee, and I never transgressed a commandment of thine; and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: |
兄は父にむかって言った、『わたしは何か年もあなたに仕えて、一度でもあなたの言いつけにそむいたことはなかったのに、友だちと楽しむために子やぎ一匹も下さったことはありません。 |
| 15-30 |
but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots,
thou killedst for him the fatted calf. |
それだのに、遊女どもと一緒になって、あなたの身代を食いつぶしたこのあなたの子が帰ってくると、そのために肥えた子牛をほふりなさいました』。 |
| 15-31 |
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine
is thine. |
すると父は言った、『子よ、あなたはいつもわたしと一緒にいるし、またわたしのものは全部あなたのものだ。 |
| 15-32 |
But it was meet to make merry and be glad: for this thy brother
was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. |
しかし、このあなたの弟は、死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから、喜び祝うのはあたりまえである』」。 |
