| 24-1 |
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came unto the tomb,
bringing the spices which they had prepared. |
週の初めの日、夜明け前に、女たちは用意しておいた香料を携えて、墓に行った。 |

And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. |
ところが、石が墓からころがしてあるので、 |
| 24-3 |
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. |
中にはいってみると、主イエスのからだが見当らなかった。 |
| 24-4 |
And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two
men stood by them in dazzling apparel: |
そのため途方にくれていると、見よ、輝いた衣を着たふたりの者が、彼らに現れた。 |
| 24-5 |
and as they were affrighted and bowed down their faces to the earth, they
said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? |
女たちは驚き恐れて、顔を地に伏せていると、このふたりの者が言った、「あなたがたは、なぜ生きた方を死人の中にたずねているのか。 |
| 24-6 |
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was
yet in Galilee, |
そのかたは、ここにはおられない。よみがえられたのだ。まだガリラヤにおられたとき、あなたがたにお話しになったことを思い出しなさい。 |
| 24-7 |
saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful
men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. |
すなわち、人の子は必ず罪人らの手に渡され、十字架につけられ、そして三日目によみがえる、と仰せられたではないか」。 |
| 24-8 |
And they remembered his words, |
そこで女たちはその言葉を思い出し、 |
| 24-9 |
returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven,
and to all the rest. |
墓から帰って、これらいっさいのことを、十一弟子や、その他みんなの人に報告した。 |
| 24-10 |
Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the
mother of James: and the other women with them told these things unto the apostles. |
この女たちというのは、マグダラのマリヤ、ヨハンナ、およびヤコブの母マリヤであった。彼女たちと一緒にいたほかの女たちも、このことを使徒たちに話した。 |

And these words appeared in their sight as idle talk; and they disbelieved
them. |
ところが、使徒たちには、それが愚かな話のように思われて、それを信じなかった。 |
| 24-12 |
But Peter arose, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he
seeth the linen cloths by themselves; and he departed to his home, wondering
at that which was come to pass. |
〔ペテロは立って墓へ走って行き、かがんで中を見ると、亜麻布だけがそこにあったので、事の次第を不思議に思いながら帰って行った。〕 |
| 24-13 |
And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus,
which was threescore furlongs from Jerusalem. |
この日、ふたりの弟子が、エルサレムから七マイルばかり離れたエマオという村へ行きながら、 |
| 24-14 |
And they communed with each other of all these things which had happened. |
このいっさいの出来事について互に語り合っていた。 |
| 24-15 |
And it came to pass, while they communed and questioned together, that
Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. |
語り合い論じ合っていると、イエスご自身が近づいてきて、彼らと一緒に歩いて行かれた。 |
| 24-16 |
But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. |
しかし、彼らの目がさえぎられて、イエスを認めることができなかった。 |
| 24-17 |
And he said unto them, What communications are these that ye have one with
another, as ye walk? And they stood still, looking sad. |
イエスは彼らに言われた、「歩きながら互に語り合っているその話は、なんのことなのか」。彼らは悲しそうな顔をして立ちどまった。 |
| 24-18 |
And one of them, named Cleopas, answering said unto him, Dost thou alone
sojourn in Jerusalem and not know the things which are come to pass there
in these days? |
そのひとりのクレオパという者が、答えて言った、「あなたはエルサレムに泊まっていながら、あなただけが、この都でこのごろ起ったことをご存じないのですか」。 |
| 24-19 |
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, The things
concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word
before God and all the people: |
「それは、どんなことか」と言われると、彼らは言った、「ナザレのイエスのことです。あのかたは、神とすべての民衆との前で、わざにも言葉にも力ある預言者でしたが、 |

and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned
to death, and crucified him. |
祭司長たちや役人たちが、死刑に処するために引き渡し、十字架につけたのです。 |
| 24-21 |
But we hoped that it was he who should redeem Israel. Yea and besides all
this, it is now the third day since these things came to pass. |
わたしたちは、イスラエルを救うのはこの人であろうと、望みをかけていました。しかもその上に、この事が起ってから、きょうが三日目なのです。 |
| 24-22 |
Moreover certain women of our company amazed us, having been early at the
tomb; |
ところが、わたしたちの仲間である数人の女が、わたしたちを驚かせました。というのは、彼らが朝早く墓に行きますと、 |
| 24-23 |
and when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had
also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. |
イエスのからだが見当らないので、帰ってきましたが、そのとき御使が現れて、『イエスは生きておられる』と告げたと申すのです。 |
| 24-24 |
And certain of them that were with us went to the tomb, and found it even
so as the women had said: but him they saw not. |
それで、わたしたちの仲間が数人、墓に行って見ますと、果して女たちが言ったとおりで、イエスは見当りませんでした」。 |
| 24-25 |
And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all
that the prophets have spoken! |
そこでイエスが言われた、「ああ、愚かで心のにぶいため、預言者たちが説いたすべての事を信じられない者たちよ。 |
| 24-26 |
Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his
glory? |
キリストは必ず、これらの苦難を受けて、その栄光に入るはずではなかったのか」。 |
| 24-27 |
And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them
in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. |
こう言って、モーセやすべての預言者からはじめて、聖書全体にわたり、ご自身についてしるしてある事どもを、説きあかされた。 |
| 24-28 |
And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they were going: and
he made as though he would go further. |
それから、彼らは行こうとしていた村に近づいたが、イエスがなお先へ進み行かれる様子であった。 |
| 24-29 |
And they constrained him, saying, Abide with us; for it is toward evening,
and the day is now far spent. And he went in to abide with them. |
そこで、しいて引き止めて言った、「わたしたちと一緒にお泊まり下さい。もう夕暮になっており、日もはや傾いています」。イエスは、彼らと共に泊まるために、家にはいられた。 |

And it came to pass, when he had sat down with them to meat, he
took the bread and blessed; and breaking it he gave to them. |
一緒に食卓につかれたとき、パンを取り、祝福してさき、彼らに渡しておられるうちに、 |
| 24-31 |
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their
sight. |
彼らの目が開けて、それがイエスであることがわかった。すると、み姿が見えなくなった。 |
| 24-32 |
And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while
he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures? |
彼らは互に言った、「道々お話しになったとき、また聖書を説き明してくださったとき、お互の心が内に燃えたではないか」。 |
| 24-33 |
And they rose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the
eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, |
そして、すぐに立ってエルサレムに帰って見ると、十一弟子とその仲間が集まっていて、 |
| 24-34 |
saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. |
「主は、ほんとうによみがえって、シモンに現れなさった」と言っていた。 |
| 24-35 |
And they rehearsed the things that happened in the way, and how he was known of them in the breaking of the bread. |
そこでふたりの者は、途中であったことや、パンをおさきになる様子でイエスだとわかったことなどを話した。 |
| 24-36 |
And as they spake these things, he himself stood in the midst of
them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. |
こう話していると、イエスが彼らの中にお立ちになった。〔そして「やすかれ」と言われた。〕 |
| 24-37 |
But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they
beheld a spirit. |
彼らは恐れ驚いて、霊を見ているのだと思った。 |
| 24-38 |
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings
arise in your heart? |
そこでイエスが言われた、「なぜおじ惑っているのか。どうして心に疑いを起すのか。 |
| 24-39 |
See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for
a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having. |
わたしの手や足を見なさい。まさしくわたしなのだ。さわって見なさい。霊には肉や骨はないが、あなたがたが見るとおり、わたしにはあるのだ」。 |

And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. |
〔こう言って、手と足とをお見せになった。〕 |
| 24-41 |
And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them,
Have ye here anything to eat? |
彼らは喜びのあまり、まだ信じられないで不思議に思っていると、イエスが「ここに何か食物があるか」と言われた。 |
| 24-42 |
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish. |
彼らが焼いた魚の一きれをさしあげると、 |
| 24-43 |
And he took it, and ate before them. |
イエスはそれを取って、みんなの前で食べられた。 |
| 24-44 |
And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while
I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are
written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning
me. |
それから彼らに対して言われた、「わたしが以前あなたがたと一緒にいた時分に話して聞かせた言葉は、こうであった。すなわち、モーセの律法と預言書と詩篇とに、わたしについて書いてあることは、必ずことごとく成就する」。 |

Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the
scriptures; |
そこでイエスは、聖書を悟らせるために彼らの心を開いて |
| 24-46 |
and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer,
and rise again from the dead the third day; |
言われた、「こう、しるしてある。キリストは苦しみを受けて、三日目に死人の中からよみがえる。 |
| 24-47 |
and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer,
and rise again from the dead the third day; |
そして、その名によって罪のゆるしを得させる悔改めが、エルサレムからはじまって、もろもろの国民に宣べ伝えられる。 |
| 24-48 |
Ye are witnesses of these things. |
あなたがたは、これらの事の証人である。 |
| 24-49 |
And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye
in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high. |
見よ、わたしの父が約束されたものを、あなたがたに贈る。だから、上から力を授けられるまでは、あなたがたは都にとどまっていなさい」。 |
| 24-50 |
And he led them out until they were over against Bethany: and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. |
それから、イエスは彼らをベタニヤの近くまで連れて行き、手をあげて彼らを祝福された。 |
| 24-51 |
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was
carried up into heaven. |
祝福しておられるうちに、彼らを離れて、〔天にあげられた。〕 |
| 24-52 |
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: |
彼らは〔イエスを拝し、〕非常な喜びをもってエルサレムに帰り、 |
| 24-53 |
and were continually in the temple, blessing God. |
絶えず宮にいて、神をほめたたえていた。 |
