| 10-1 |
And he arose from thence and cometh into the borders of Judaea and beyond
the Jordan: and multitudes come together unto him again; and, as he was
wont, he taught them again. |
それから、イエスはそこを去って、ユダヤの地方とヨルダンの向こう側へ行かれたが、群衆がまた寄り集まったので、いつものように、また教えておられた。 |

And there came unto him Pharisees, and asked him, Is it lawful for
a man to put away his wife? trying him. |
そのとき、パリサイ人たちが近づいてきて、イエスを試みようとして質問した、「夫はその妻を出しても差しつかえないでしょうか」。 |
| 10-3 |
And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? |
イエスは答えて言われた、「モーセはあなたがたになんと命じたか」。 |
| 10-4 |
And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put
her away. |
彼らは言った、「モーセは、離縁状を書いて妻を出すことを許しました」。 |
| 10-5 |
But Jesus said unto them, For your hardness of heart he wrote you this
commandment. |
そこでイエスは言われた、「モーセはあなたがたの心が、かたくななので、あなたがたのためにこの定めを書いたのである。 |
| 10-6 |
But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female made he them. |
しかし、天地創造の初めから、『神は人を男と女とに造られた。 |
| 10-7 |
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave
to his wife; |
それゆえに、人はその父母を離れ、 |
| 10-8 |
and the two shall become one flesh: so that they are no more two, but one
flesh. |
ふたりの者は一体となるべきである』。彼らはもはや、ふたりではなく一体である。 |
| 10-9 |
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. |
だから、神が合わせられたものを、人は離してはならない」。 |
| 10-10 |
And in the house the disciples asked him again of this matter. |
家にはいってから、弟子たちはまたこのことについて尋ねた。 |
| 10-11 |
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another,
committeth adultery against her: |
そこで、イエスは言われた、「だれでも、自分の妻を出して他の女をめとる者は、その妻に対して姦淫を行うのである。 |
| 10-12 |
and if she herself shall put away her husband, and marry another, she committeth
adultery. |
また妻が、その夫と別れて他の男にとつぐならば、姦淫を行うのである」。 |
| 10-13 |
And they were bringing unto him little children, that he should touch them:
and the disciples rebuked them. |
イエスにさわっていただくために、人々が幼な子らをみもとに連れてきた。ところが、弟子たちは彼らをたしなめた。 |
| 10-14 |
But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said unto them,
Suffer the little children to come unto me; forbid them not: for to such
belongeth the kingdom of God. |
それを見てイエスは憤り、彼らに言われた、「幼な子らをわたしの所に来るままにしておきなさい。止めてはならない。神の国はこのような者の国である。 |
| 10-15 |
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of
God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein. |
よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも幼な子のように神の国を受けいれる者でなければ、そこにはいることは決してできない」。 |
| 10-16 |
And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them. |
そして彼らを抱き、手をその上において祝福された。 |
| 10-17 |
And as he was going forth into the way, there ran one to him, and kneeled
to him, and asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit
eternal life? |
イエスが道に出て行かれると、ひとりの人が走り寄り、みまえにひざまずいて尋ねた、「よき師よ、永遠の生命を受けるために、何をしたらよいでしょうか」。 |
| 10-18 |
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good
save one, even God.
|
イエスは言われた、「なぜわたしをよき者と言うのか。神ひとりのほかによい者はいない。 |
| 10-19 |
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill, Do not commit
adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor thy
father and mother.
|
いましめはあなたの知っているとおりである。『殺すな、姦淫するな、盗むな、偽証を立てるな。欺き取るな。父と母とを敬え』」。 |
| 10-20 |
And he said unto him, Teacher, all these things have I observed
from my youth.
|
すると、彼は言った、「先生、それらの事はみな、小さい時から守っております」。 |
| 10-21 |
And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said unto him, One thing
thou lackest: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou
shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
|
イエスは彼に目をとめ、いつくしんで言われた、「あなたに足りないことが一つある。帰って、持っているものをみな売り払って、貧しい人々に施しなさい。そうすれば、天に宝を持つようになろう。そして、わたしに従ってきなさい」。 |
| 10-22 |
But his countenance fell at the saying, and he went away
sorrowful: for he was one that had great possessions.
|
すると、彼はこの言葉を聞いて、顔を曇らせ、悲しみながら立ち去った。たくさんの資産を持っていたからである。 |
| 10-23 |
And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How
hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
|
それから、イエスは見まわして、弟子たちに言われた、「財産のある者が神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう」。 |
| 10-24 |
And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again,
and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches
to enter into the kingdom of God! |
弟子たちはこの言葉に驚き怪しんだ。イエスは更に言われた、「子たちよ、神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう。 |
| 10-25 |
It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a
rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
|
富んでいる者が神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通る方が、もっとやさしい」。 |
| 10-26 |
And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who
can be saved?
|
すると彼らはますます驚いて、互に言った、「それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろう」。 |
| 10-27 |
Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not
with God: for all things are possible with God.
|
イエスは彼らを見つめて言われた、「人にはできないが、神にはできる。神はなんでもできるからである」。 |
| 10-28 |
Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have
followed thee. |
ペテロがイエスに言い出した、「ごらんなさい、わたしたちはいっさいを捨てて、あなたに従って参りました」。 |
| 10-29 |
Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left
house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for
my sake, and for the gospel’s sake,

イエスは言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。だれでもわたしのために、また福音のために、家、兄弟、姉妹、母、父、子、もしくは畑を捨てた者は、 |
| 10-30 |
but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions;
and in the world to come eternal life. |
必ずその百倍を受ける。すなわち、今この時代では家、兄弟、姉妹、母、子および畑を迫害と共に受け、また、きたるべき世では永遠の生命を受ける。 |
| 10-31 |
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
|
しかし、多くの先の者はあとになり、あとの者は先になるであろう」。 |
| 10-32 |
And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was
going before them: and they were amazed; and they that followed were afraid. And
he took again the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were to happen
unto him,

さて、一同はエルサレムへ上る途上にあったが、イエスが先頭に立って行かれたので、彼らは驚き怪しみ、従う者たちは恐れた。するとイエスはまた十二弟子を呼び寄せて、自分の身に起ろうとすることについて語りはじめられた、 |
| 10-33 |
saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man
shall be delivered unto the chief priests and the scribes; and they shall
condemn him to death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles:
|
「見よ、わたしたちはエルサレムへ上って行くが、人の子は祭司長、律法学者たちの手に引きわたされる。そして彼らは死刑を宣告した上、彼を異邦人に引きわたすであろう。 |
| 10-34 |
and they shall mock him, and shall spit upon him, and shall scourge him,
and shall kill him; and after three days he shall rise again. |
また彼をあざけり、つばきをかけ、むち打ち、ついに殺してしまう。そして彼は三日の後によみがえるであろう」。 |
| 10-35 |
And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying
unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we
shall ask of thee. |
さて、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとヨハネとがイエスのもとにきて言った、「先生、わたしたちがお頼みすることは、なんでもかなえてくださるようにお願いします」。 |
| 10-36 |
And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
|
イエスは彼らに「何をしてほしいと、願うのか」と言われた。 |
| 10-37 |
And they said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy
right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory. |
すると彼らは言った、「栄光をお受けになるとき、ひとりをあなたの右に、ひとりを左にすわるようにしてください」。 |
| 10-38 |
But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to
drink the cup that I drink? or to be baptized with the baptism that I am
baptized with? |
イエスは言われた、「あなたがたは自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていない。あなたがたは、わたしが飲む杯を飲み、わたしが受けるバプテスマを受けることができるか」。 |
| 10-39 |
And they said unto him, We are able. And Jesus said unto them, The cup
that I drink ye shall drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal
shall ye be baptized: |
彼らは「できます」と答えた。するとイエスは言われた、「あなたがたは、わたしが飲む杯を飲み、わたしが受けるバプテスマを受けるであろう。 |
| 10-40 |
but to sit on my right hand or on my left hand is not mine
to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared. |
しかし、わたしの右、左にすわらせることは、わたしのすることではなく、ただ備えられている人々だけに許されることである」。 |
| 10-41 |
And when the ten heard it, they began to be moved with indignation concerning
James and John. |
十人の者はこれを聞いて、ヤコブとヨハネとのことで憤慨し出した。 |
| 10-42 |
And Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they who
are accounted to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great
ones exercise authority over them. |
そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたの知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者と見られている人々は、その民を治め、また偉い人たちは、その民の上に権力をふるっている。 |
| 10-43 |
But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you,
shall be your minister; |
しかし、あなたがたの間では、そうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、仕える人となり、 |
| 10-44 |
and whosoever would be first among you, shall be servant of all. |
あなたがたの間でかしらになりたいと思う者は、すべての人の僕とならねばならない。 |
| 10-45 |
For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister,
and to give his life a ransom for many. |
人の子がきたのも、仕えられるためではなく、仕えるためであり、また多くの人のあがないとして、自分の命を与えるためである」。 |
| 10-46 |
And they come to Jericho: and as he went out from Jericho, with his disciples
and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar,
was sitting by the way side. |
それから、彼らはエリコにきた。そしてイエスが弟子たちや大ぜいの群衆と共にエリコから出かけられたとき、テマイの子、バルテマイという盲人のこじきが、道ばたにすわっていた。 |
| 10-47 |
And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out,
and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. |
ところが、ナザレのイエスだと聞いて、彼は「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんでください」と叫び出した。 |
| 10-48 |
And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the
more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. |
多くの人々は彼をしかって黙らせようとしたが、彼はますます激しく叫びつづけた、「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんでください」。 |
| 10-49 |
And Jesus stood still, and said, Call ye him. And they call the blind man,
saying unto him, Be of good cheer: rise, he calleth thee. |
イエスは立ちどまって、「彼を呼べ」と命じられた。そこで、人々はその盲人を呼んで言った、「喜べ、立て、おまえを呼んでおられる」。 |
| 10-50 |
And he, casting away his garment, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
|
そこで彼は上着を脱ぎ捨て、踊りあがってイエスのもとにきた。 |
| 10-51 |
And Jesus answered him, and said, What wilt thou that I should do unto
thee? And the blind man said unto him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight. |
イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」。その盲人は言った、「先生、見えるようになることです」。 |
| 10-52 |
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee
whole. And straightway he received his sight, and followed him in the way. |
そこでイエスは言われた、「行け、あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。すると彼は、たちまち見えるようになり、イエスに従って行った。 |
