| 7-1 |
And there are gathered together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of
the scribes, who had come from Jerusalem, |
さて、パリサイ人と、ある律法学者たちとが、エルサレムからきて、イエスのもとに集まった。 |
| 7-2 |
and had seen that some of his disciples ate their bread with defiled, that
is, unwashen, hands. |
そして弟子たちのうちに、不浄な手、すなわち洗わない手で、パンを食べている者があるのを見た。 |
| 7-3 |
(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands diligently,
eat not, holding the tradition of the elders; |
もともと、パリサイ人をはじめユダヤ人はみな、昔の人の言伝えをかたく守って、念入りに手を洗ってからでないと、食事をしない。 |
| 7-4 |
and when they come from the market-place, except they bathe themselves, they eat not; and
many other things there are, which they have received to hold, washings
of cups, and pots, and brasen vessels.) |
また市場から帰ったときには、身を清めてからでないと、食事をせず、なおそのほかにも、杯、鉢、銅器を洗うことなど、昔から受けついでかたく守っている事が、たくさんあった。 |

And the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why walk not thy disciples according
to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with defiled hands? |
そこで、パリサイ人と律法学者たちとは、イエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、あなたの弟子たちは、昔の人の言伝えに従って歩まないで、不浄な手でパンを食べるのですか」。 |

And he said unto them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it
is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, But their heart is
far from me. |
イエスは言われた、「イザヤは、あなたがた偽善者について、こう書いているが、それは適切な預言である、『この民は、口さきではわたしを敬うが、その心はわたしから遠く離れている。 |
| 7-7 |
But in vain do they worship me,Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men. |
人間のいましめを教として教え、無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』。 |
| 7-8 |
Ye leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men. |
あなたがたは、神のいましめをさしおいて、人間の言伝えを固執している」。 |
| 7-9 |
And he said unto them, Full well do ye reject the commandment of God, that
ye may keep your tradition. |
また、言われた、「あなたがたは、自分たちの言伝えを守るために、よくも神のいましめを捨てたものだ。 |
| 7-10 |
For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, He that speaketh
evil of father or mother, let him die the death: |
モーセは言ったではないか、『父と母とを敬え』、また『父または母をののしる者は、必ず死に定められる』と。 |
| 7-11 |
but ye say, If a man shall say to his father or his mother, That
wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say,
Given to God; |
それだのに、あなたがたは、もし人が父または母にむかって、あなたに差上げるはずのこのものはコルバン、すなわち、供え物ですと言えば、それでよいとして、 |

ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother; |
その人は父母に対して、もう何もしないで済むのだと言っている。 |
| 7-13 |
making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered:
and many such like things ye do. |
こうしてあなたがたは、自分たちが受けついだ言伝えによって、神の言を無にしている。また、このような事をしばしばおこなっている」。 |
| 7-14 |
And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all
of you, and understand: |
それから、イエスは再び群衆を呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたはみんな、わたしの言うことを聞いて悟るがよい。 |
| 7-15 |
is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him;
but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man. |
すべて外から人の中にはいって、人をけがしうるものはない。かえって、人の中から出てくるものが、人をけがすのである。 |
| 7-16 |
If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
〔聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい〕」。 |
| 7-17 |
And when he was entered into the house from the multitude, his disciples
asked of him the parable. |
イエスが群衆を離れて家にはいられると、弟子たちはこの譬について尋ねた。 |
| 7-18 |
And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also?
Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the man, it cannot defile him; |
すると、言われた、「あなたがたも、そんなに鈍いのか。すべて、外から人の中にはいって来るものは、人を汚し得ないことが、わからないのか。 |
| 7-19 |
because it goeth not into his heart, but into his belly, and goeth
out into the draught? This he said, making all meats clean. |
それは人の心の中にはいるのではなく、腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出て行くだけである」。イエスはこのように、どんな食物でもきよいものとされた。 |
| 7-20 |
And he said, That which proceedeth out of the man, that defileth
the man. |
さらに言われた、「人から出て来るもの、それが人をけがすのである。 |
| 7-21 |
For from within, out of the heart of men, evil thoughts proceed,
fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, |
すなわち内部から、人の心の中から、悪い思いが出て来る。不品行、盗み、殺人、 |
| 7-22 |
covetings, wickednesses, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, railing,
pride, foolishness: |
姦淫、貪欲、邪悪、欺き、好色、妬み、誹り、高慢、愚痴。 |
| 7-23 |
all these evil things proceed from within, and defile the man. |
これらの悪はすべて内部から出てきて、人をけがすのである」。 |
| 7-24 |
And from thence he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon.
And he entered into a house, and would have no man know it; and he could
not be hid. |
さて、イエスは、そこを立ち去って、ツロの地方に行かれた。そして、だれにも知れないように、家の中にはいられたが、隠れていることができなかった。 |
| 7-25 |
But straightway a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having
heard of him, came and fell down at his feet. |
そして、けがれた霊につかれた幼い娘をもつ女が、イエスのことをすぐ聞きつけてきて、その足もとにひれ伏した。 |
| 7-26 |
Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she besought him
that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter. |
この女はギリシヤ人で、スロ・フェニキヤの生れであった。そして、娘から悪霊を追い出してくださいとお願いした。 |
| 7-27 |
And he said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet
to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs. |
イエスは女に言われた、「まず子供たちに十分食べさすべきである。子供たちのパンを取って小犬に投げてやるのは、よろしくない」。 |
| 7-28 |
But she answered and saith unto him, Yea, Lord; even the dogs under the
table eat of the children’s crumbs. |
すると女は答えて言った、「主よ、お言葉どおりです。でも、食卓の下にいる小犬も、子供たちのパンくずは、いただきます」。 |
| 7-29 |
And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the demon is gone out
of thy daughter. |
そこでイエスは言われた、「その言葉で、じゅうぶんである。お帰りなさい。悪霊は娘から出てしまった」。 |
| 7-30 |
And she went away unto her house, and found the child laid upon the bed,
and the demon gone out. |
そこで、女が家に帰ってみると、その子は床の上に寝ており、悪霊は出てしまっていた。 |
| 7-31 |
And again he went out from the borders of Tyre, and came through Sidon
unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the borders of Decapolis |
それから、イエスはまたツロの地方を去り、シドンを経てデカポリス地方を通りぬけ、ガリラヤの海べにこられた。 |
| 7-32 |
And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his
speech; and they beseech him to lay his hand upon him. |
すると人々は、耳が聞えず口のきけない人を、みもとに連れてきて、手を置いてやっていただきたいとお願いした。 |
| 7-33 |
And he took him aside from the multitude privately, and put his fingers
into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue; |
そこで、イエスは彼ひとりを群衆の中から連れ出し、その両耳に指をさし入れ、それから、つばきでその舌を潤し、 |
| 7-34 |
and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him,
Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. |
天を仰いでため息をつき、その人に「エパタ」と言われた。これは「開けよ」という意味である。 |
| 7-35 |
And his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he
spake plain. |
すると彼の耳が開け、その舌のもつれもすぐ解けて、はっきりと話すようになった。 |
| 7-36 |
And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged
them, so much the more a great deal they published it. |
イエスは、この事をだれにも言ってはならぬと、人々に口止めをされたが、口止めをすればするほど、かえって、ますます言いひろめた。 |
| 7-37 |
And they were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all
things well; he maketh even the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak. |
彼らは、ひとかたならず驚いて言った、「このかたのなさった事は、何もかも、すばらしい。耳の聞えない者を聞えるようにしてやり、口のきけない者をきけるようにしておやりになった」。 |
