| 9-1 |
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There are some here
of them that stand by, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God
come with power. |
また、彼らに言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。神の国が力をもって来るのを見るまでは、決して死を味わわない者が、ここに立っている者の中にいる」。 |
| 9-2 |
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and
bringeth them up into a high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured
before them; |
六日の後、イエスは、ただペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。ところが、彼らの目の前でイエスの姿が変り、 |

and his garments became glistering, exceeding white, so as no
fuller on earth can whiten them. |
その衣は真白く輝き、どんな布さらしでも、それほどに白くすることはできないくらいになった。 |
| 9-4 |
And there appeared unto them Elijah with Moses: and they were talking with
Jesus. |
すると、エリヤがモーセと共に彼らに現れて、イエスと語り合っていた。 |
| 9-5 |
And Peter answereth and saith to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us
to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses,
and one for Elijah. |
ペテロはイエスにむかって言った、「先生、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。それで、わたしたちは小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのために、一つはモーセのために、一つはエリヤのために」。 |
| 9-6 |
For he knew not what to answer; for they became sore afraid. |
そう言ったのは、みんなの者が非常に恐れていたので、ペテロは何を言ってよいか、わからなかったからである。 |
| 9-7 |
And there came a cloud overshadowing them: and there came a voice out of
the cloud, This is my beloved Son: hear ye him. |
すると、雲がわき起って彼らをおおった。そして、その雲の中から声があった、「これはわたしの愛する子である。これに聞け」。 |
| 9-8 |
And suddenly looking round about, they saw no one any more, save Jesus
only with themselves. |
彼らは急いで見まわしたが、もはやだれも見えず、ただイエスだけが、自分たちと一緒におられた。 |
| 9-9 |
And as they were coming down from the mountain, he charged them
that they should tell no man what things they had seen, save when the Son of man
should have risen again from the dead. |
一同が山を下って来るとき、イエスは「人の子が死人の中からよみがえるまでは、いま見たことをだれにも話してはならない」と、彼らに命じられた。 |
| 9-10 |
And they kept the saying, questioning among themselves what the rising
again from the dead should mean. |
彼らはこの言葉を心にとめ、死人の中からよみがえるとはどういうことかと、互に論じ合った。 |
| 9-11 |
And they asked him, saying, How is it that the scribes say
that Elijah must first come? |
そしてイエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、律法学者たちは、エリヤが先に来るはずだと言っているのですか」。 |
| 9-12 |
And he said unto them, Elijah indeed cometh first, and restoreth all things:
and how is it written of the Son of man, that he should suffer many things
and be set at nought? |
イエスは言われた、「確かに、エリヤが先にきて、万事を元どおりに改める。しかし、人の子について、彼が多くの苦しみを受け、かつ恥ずかしめられると、書いてあるのはなぜか。 |
| 9-13 |
But I say unto you, that Elijah is come, and they have also done unto him
whatsoever they would, even as it is written of him. |
しかしあなたがたに言っておく、エリヤはすでにきたのだ。そして彼について書いてあるように、人々は自分かってに彼をあしらった」。 |
| 9-14 |
when they came to the disciples, they saw a great multitude about
them, and scribes questioning with them. |
さて、彼らがほかの弟子たちの所にきて見ると、大ぜいの群衆が弟子たちを取り囲み、そして律法学者たちが彼らと論じ合っていた。 |
| 9-15 |
And straightway all the multitude, when they saw him, were
greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him. |
群衆はみな、すぐイエスを見つけて、非常に驚き、駆け寄ってきて、あいさつをした。 |
| 9-16 |
And he asked them, What question ye with them? |
イエスが彼らに、「あなたがたは彼らと何を論じているのか」と尋ねられると、 |
| 9-17 |
And one of the multitude answered him, Teacher, I brought unto thee my
son, who hath a dumb spirit; |
群衆のひとりが答えた、「先生、おしの霊につかれているわたしのむすこを、こちらに連れて参りました。 |
| 9-18 |
and wheresoever it taketh him, it dasheth him down: and he
foameth, and grindeth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples
that they should cast it out; and they were not able. |
霊がこのむすこにとりつきますと、どこででも彼を引き倒し、それから彼はあわを吹き、歯をくいしばり、からだをこわばらせてしまいます。それでお弟子たちに、この霊を追い出してくださるように願いましたが、できませんでした」。 |
| 9-19 |
And he answereth them and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall
I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him unto me. |
イエスは答えて言われた、「ああ、なんという不信仰な時代であろう。いつまで、わたしはあなたがたと一緒におられようか。いつまで、あなたがたに我慢ができようか。その子をわたしの所に連れてきなさい」。 |
| 9-20 |
And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit
tare him grievously; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. |
そこで人々は、その子をみもとに連れてきた。霊がイエスを見るや否や、その子をひきつけさせたので、子は地に倒れ、あわを吹きながらころげまわった。 |
| 9-21 |
And he asked his father, How long time is it since this hath come
unto him? And he said, From a child. |
そこで、イエスが父親に「いつごろから、こんなになったのか」と尋ねられると、父親は答えた、「幼い時からです。 |
| 9-22 |
And oft-times it hath cast him both into the fire and into the waters,
to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and
help us. |
霊はたびたび、この子を火の中、水の中に投げ入れて、殺そうとしました。しかしできますれば、わたしどもをあわれんでお助けください」。 |
| 9-23 |
And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst! All things are possible to him
that believeth. |
イエスは彼に言われた、「もしできれば、と言うのか。信ずる者には、どんな事でもできる」。 |
| 9-24 |
Straightway the father of the child cried out, and said, I believe; help
thou mine unbelief. |
その子の父親はすぐ叫んで言った、「信じます。不信仰なわたしを、お助けください」。 |
| 9-25 |
And when Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the
unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him. |
イエスは群衆が駆け寄って来るのをごらんになって、けがれた霊をしかって言われた、「おしとつんぼの霊よ、わたしがおまえに命じる。この子から出て行け。二度と、はいって来るな」。 |
| 9-26 |
And having cried out, and torn him much, he came out: and the
boy became as one dead; insomuch that the more part said, He is dead. |
すると霊は叫び声をあげ、激しく引きつけさせて出て行った。その子は死人のようになったので、多くの人は、死んだのだと言った。 |
| 9-27 |
But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose. |
しかし、イエスが手を取って起されると、その子は立ち上がった。 |
| 9-28 |
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him
privately, How is it that we could not cast it out? |
家にはいられたとき、弟子たちはひそかにお尋ねした、「わたしたちは、どうして霊を追い出せなかったのですか」。 |
| 9-29 |
And he said unto them, This kind can come out by nothing, save by prayer. |
すると、イエスは言われた、「このたぐいは、祈によらなければ、どうしても追い出すことはできない」。 |
| 9-30 |
And they went forth from thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would
not that any man should know it. |
それから彼らはそこを立ち去り、ガリラヤをとおって行ったが、イエスは人に気づかれるのを好まれなかった。 |
| 9-31 |
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered
up into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and when he is killed,
after three days he shall rise again. |
それは、イエスが弟子たちに教えて、「人の子は人々の手にわたされ、彼らに殺され、殺されてから三日の後によみがえるであろう」と言っておられたからである。 |
| 9-32 |
But they understood not the saying, and were afraid to ask him. |
しかし、彼らはイエスの言われたことを悟らず、また尋ねるのを恐れていた。 |
| 9-33 |
And they came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house he asked them,
What were ye reasoning on the way? |
それから彼らはカペナウムにきた。そして家におられるとき、イエスは弟子たちに尋ねられた、「あなたがたは途中で何を論じていたのか」。 |
| 9-34 |
But they held their peace: for they had disputed one with another
on the way, who was the greatest. |
彼らは黙っていた。それは途中で、だれが一ばん偉いかと、互に論じ合っていたからである。 |
| 9-35 |
And he sat down, and called the twelve; and he saith unto them, If any
man would be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all. |
そこで、イエスはすわって十二弟子を呼び、そして言われた、「だれでも一ばん先になろうと思うならば、一ばんあとになり、みんなに仕える者とならねばならない」。 |
| 9-36 |
And he took a little child, and set him in the midst of them: and taking
him in his arms, he said unto them, |
そして、ひとりの幼な子をとりあげて、彼らのまん中に立たせ、それを抱いて言われた。 |
| 9-37 |
Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my name, receiveth
me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. |
「だれでも、このような幼な子のひとりを、わたしの名のゆえに受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。そして、わたしを受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのではなく、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである」。 |
| 9-38 |
John said unto him, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in thy name;
and we forbade him, because he followed not us. |
ヨハネがイエスに言った、「先生、わたしたちについてこない者が、あなたの名を使って悪霊を追い出しているのを見ましたが、その人はわたしたちについてこなかったので、やめさせました」。 |
| 9-39 |
But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a mighty
work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me. |
イエスは言われた、「やめさせないがよい。だれでもわたしの名で力あるわざを行いながら、すぐそのあとで、わたしをそしることはできない。 |
| 9-40 |
For he that is not against us is for us. |
わたしたちに反対しない者は、わたしたちの味方である。 |
| 9-41 |
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink, because ye are Christ’s,
verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. |
だれでも、キリストについている者だというので、あなたがたに水一杯でも飲ませてくれるものは、よく言っておくが、決してその報いからもれることはないであろう。 |
| 9-42 |
And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to
stumble, it were better for him if a great millstone were hanged about
his neck, and he were cast into the sea. |
また、わたしを信じるこれらの小さい者のひとりをつまずかせる者は、大きなひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ込まれた方が、はるかによい。 |
| 9-43 |
And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee
to enter into life maimed, rather than having thy two hands to go into
hell, into the unquenchable fire. |
もし、あなたの片手が罪を犯させるなら、それを切り捨てなさい。両手がそろったままで地獄の消えない火の中に落ち込むよりは、かたわになって命に入る方がよい。 |
| 9-44 |
where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. |
〔地獄では、うじがつきず、火も消えることがない。〕 |
| 9-45 |
And if thy foot cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee
to enter into life halt, rather than having thy two feet to be cast into
hell. |
もし、あなたの片足が罪を犯させるなら、それを切り捨てなさい。両足がそろったままで地獄に投げ入れられるよりは、片足で命に入る方がよい。 |
| 9-46 |
where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. |
〔地獄では、うじがつきず、火も消えることがない。〕 |
| 9-47 |
And if thine eye cause thee to stumble, cast it out: it is good for thee
to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes
to be cast into hell; |
もし、あなたの片目が罪を犯させるなら、それを抜き出しなさい。両眼がそろったままで地獄に投げ入れられるよりは、片目になって神の国に入る方がよい。 |
| 9-48 |
where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. |
地獄では、うじがつきず、火も消えることがない。 |
| 9-49 |
For every one shall be salted with fire. |
人はすべて火で塩づけられねばならない。 |
| 9-50 |
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its saltness, wherewith
will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another. |
塩はよいものである。しかし、もしその塩の味がぬけたら、何によってその味が取りもどされようか。あなたがた自身の内に塩を持ちなさい。そして、互に和らぎなさい」。 |
