| 13-1 |
On that day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. |
その日、イエスは家を出て、海べにすわっておられた。 |
| 13-2 |
And there were gathered unto him great multitudes, so that he entered into
a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach. |
ところが、大ぜいの群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわられ、群衆はみな岸に立っていた。 |
| 13-3 |
And he spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower
went forth to sow; |
イエスは譬で多くの事を語り、こう言われた、「見よ、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。 |
| 13-4 |
and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the
birds came and devoured them: |
まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。 |
| 13-5 |
and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much
earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth: |
ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、 |
| 13-6 |
and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no
root, they withered away. |
日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。 |
| 13-7 |
And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them: |
ほかの種はいばらの地に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまった。 |
| 13-8 |
others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold,
some sixty, some thirty. |
ほかの種は良い地に落ちて実を結び、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。 |
| 13-9 |
He that hath ears, let him hear. |
耳のある者は聞くがよい」。 |
| 13-10 |
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them
in parables? |
それから、弟子たちがイエスに近寄ってきて言った、「なぜ、彼らに譬でお話しになるのですか」。 |
| 13-11 |
And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries
of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. |
そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたには、天国の奥義を知ることが許されているが、彼らには許されていない。 |
| 13-12 |
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance:
but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he
hath. |
おおよそ、持っている人は与えられて、いよいよ豊かになるが、持っていない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう。 |
| 13-13 |
Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and
hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. |
だから、彼らには譬で語るのである。それは彼らが、見ても見ず、聞いても聞かず、また悟らないからである。 |
| 13-14 |
And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing
ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive: |
こうしてイザヤの言った預言が、彼らの上に成就したのである。『あなたがたは聞くには聞くが、決して悟らない。見るには見るが、決して認めない。 |
| 13-15 |
For this people’s heart is waxed gross,And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed;
Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes,And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,And should turn again, And I should heal
them. |
この民の心は鈍くなり、その耳は聞えにくく、その目は閉じている。それは、彼らが目で見ず、耳で聞かず、心で悟らず、悔い改めていやされることがないためである』。 |
| 13-16 |
But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they
hear. |
しかし、あなたがたの目は見ており、耳は聞いているから、さいわいである。 |
| 13-17 |
For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired
to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things
which ye hear, and heard them not. |
あなたがたによく言っておく。多くの預言者や義人は、あなたがたの見ていることを見ようと熱心に願ったが、見ることができず、またあなたがたの聞いていることを聞こうとしたが、聞けなかったのである。 |
| 13-18 |
Hear then ye the parable of the sower. |
そこで、種まきの譬を聞きなさい。 |
| 13-19 |
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it
not, then cometh the evil one, and snatcheth away that which hath
been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side.

だれでも御国の言を聞いて悟らないならば、悪い者がきて、その人の心にまかれたものを奪いとって行く。道ばたにまかれたものというのは、そういう人のことである。 |
| 13-20 |
And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the
word, and straightway with joy receiveth it; |
石地にまかれたものというのは、御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受ける人のことである。 |
| 13-21 |
yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and
when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he
stumbleth. |
その中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけであって、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。 |
| 13-22 |
And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word;
and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word,
and he becometh unfruitful. |
また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、御言を聞くが、世の心づかいと富の惑わしとが御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる人のことである。 |
| 13-23 |
And he that was sown upon the good ground, this is he that heareth
the word, and understandeth it; who verily beareth fruit, and bringeth forth,
some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. |
また、良い地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである」。 |
| 13-24 |
Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened
unto a man that sowed good seed in his field: |
また、ほかの譬を彼らに示して言われた、「天国は、良い種を自分の畑にまいておいた人のようなものである。 |
| 13-25 |
but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat,
and went away. |
人々が眠っている間に敵がきて、麦の中に毒麦をまいて立ち去った。 |
| 13-26 |
But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the
tares also. |
芽がはえ出て実を結ぶと、同時に毒麦もあらわれてきた。 |
| 13-27 |
And the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir,
didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it tares? |
僕たちがきて、家の主人に言った、『ご主人様、畑におまきになったのは、良い種ではありませんでしたか。どうして毒麦がはえてきたのですか』。 |
| 13-28 |
And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto
him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? |
主人は言った、『それは敵のしわざだ』。すると僕たちが言った『では行って、それを抜き集めましょうか』。 |
| 13-29 |
But he saith, Nay; lest haply while ye gather up the tares, ye root up
the wheat with them. |
彼は言った、『いや、毒麦を集めようとして、麦も一緒に抜くかも知れない。 |
| 13-30 |
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the
harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in
bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn. |
収穫まで、両方とも育つままにしておけ。収穫の時になったら、刈る者に、まず毒麦を集めて束にして焼き、麦の方は集めて倉に入れてくれ、と言いつけよう』」。 |
| 13-31 |
Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like
unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: |
また、ほかの譬を彼らに示して言われた、「天国は、一粒のからし種のようなものである。ある人がそれをとって畑にまくと、 |
| 13-32 |
which indeed is less than all seeds; but when it is grown, it is
greater than the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the heaven
come and lodge in the branches thereof. |
それはどんな種よりも小さいが、成長すると、野菜の中でいちばん大きくなり、空の鳥がきて、その枝に宿るほどの木になる」。 |
| 13-33 |
Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like
unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till it was
all leavened. |
またほかの譬を彼らに語られた、「天国は、パン種のようなものである。女がそれを取って三斗の粉の中に混ぜると、全体がふくらんでくる」。 |
| 13-34 |
All these things spake Jesus in parables unto the multitudes; and without
a parable spake he nothing unto them: |
イエスはこれらのことをすべて、譬で群衆に語られた。譬によらないでは何事も彼らに語られなかった。 |
| 13-35 |
it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
I will open my mouth in parables;I will utter things hidden from the foundation
of the world. |
これは預言者によって言われたことが、成就するためである、「わたしは口を開いて譬を語り、世の初めから隠されていることを語り出そう」。 |
| 13-36 |
Then he left the multitudes, and went into the house: and his
disciples came unto him, saying, Explain unto us the parable of the tares of the
field. |
それからイエスは、群衆をあとに残して家にはいられた。すると弟子たちは、みもとにきて言った、「畑の毒麦の譬を説明してください」。 |
| 13-37 |
And he answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; |
イエスは答えて言われた、「良い種をまく者は、人の子である。 |
| 13-38 |
and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons
of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; |
畑は世界である。良い種と言うのは御国の子たちで、毒麦は悪い者の子たちである。 |
| 13-39 |
and the enemy that sowed them is the devil: and the harvest is the
end of the world; and the reapers are angels. |
それをまいた敵は悪魔である。収穫とは世の終りのことで、刈る者は御使たちである。 |
| 13-40 |
As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire; so shall it
be in the end of the world. |
だから、毒麦が集められて火で焼かれるように、世の終りにもそのとおりになるであろう。 |
| 13-41 |
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of
his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do iniquity, |
人の子はその使たちをつかわし、つまずきとなるものと不法を行う者とを、ことごとく御国からとり集めて、 |
| 13-42 |
and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping
and the gnashing of teeth. |
炉の火に投げ入れさせるであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。 |
| 13-43 |
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of
their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear. |
そのとき、義人たちは彼らの父の御国で、太陽のように輝きわたるであろう。耳のある者は聞くがよい。 |
| 13-44 |
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field;
which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he
hath, and buyeth that field. |
天国は、畑に隠してある宝のようなものである。人がそれを見つけると隠しておき、喜びのあまり、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてその畑を買うのである。 |
| 13-45 |
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a merchant seeking
goodly pearls: |
また天国は、良い真珠を捜している商人のようなものである。 |
| 13-46 |
and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all
that he had, and bought it. |
高価な真珠一個を見いだすと、行って持ち物をみな売りはらい、そしてこれを買うのである。 |
| 13-47 |
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast
into the sea, and gathered of every kind: |
また天国は、海におろして、あらゆる種類の魚を囲みいれる網のようなものである。 |
| 13-48 |
which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach; and they sat down,
and gathered the good into vessels, but the bad they cast away. |
それがいっぱいになると岸に引き上げ、そしてすわって、良いのを器に入れ、悪いのを外へ捨てるのである。 |
| 13-49 |
So shall it be in the end of the world: the angels shall come
forth, and sever the wicked from among the righteous,
|
世の終りにも、そのとおりになるであろう。すなわち、御使たちがきて、義人のうちから悪人をえり分け、 |
| 13-50 |
and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the
weeping and the gnashing of teeth. |
そして炉の火に投げこむであろう。そこでは泣き叫んだり、歯がみをしたりするであろう。 |
| 13-51 |
Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea. |
あなたがたは、これらのことが皆わかったか」。彼らは「わかりました」と答えた。 |
| 13-52 |
And he said unto them, Therefore every scribe who hath been made a
disciple to the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, who
bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. |
そこで、イエスは彼らに言われた、「それだから、天国のことを学んだ学者は、新しいものと古いものとを、その倉から取り出す一家の主人のようなものである」。 |
| 13-53 |
And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, he
departed thence. |
イエスはこれらの譬を語り終えてから、そこを立ち去られた。 |
| 13-54 |
And coming into his own country he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch
that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom,
and these mighty works? |
そして郷里に行き、会堂で人々を教えられたところ、彼らは驚いて言った、「この人は、この知恵とこれらの力あるわざとを、どこで習ってきたのか。 |
| 13-55 |
Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his
brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas? |
この人は大工の子ではないか。母はマリヤといい、兄弟たちは、ヤコブ、ヨセフ、シモン、ユダではないか。 |
| 13-56 |
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this
man all these things? |
またその姉妹たちもみな、わたしたちと一緒にいるではないか。こんな数々のことを、いったい、どこで習ってきたのか」。 |
| 13-57 |
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house. |
こうして人々はイエスにつまずいた。しかし、イエスは言われた、「預言者は、自分の郷里や自分の家以外では、どこででも敬われないことはない」。 |
| 13-58 |
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. |
そして彼らの不信仰のゆえに、そこでは力あるわざを、あまりなさらなかった。 |
