| 15-1 |
Then there come to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying, |
ときに、パリサイ人と律法学者たちとが、エルサレムからイエスのもとにきて言った、 |
| 15-2 |
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash
not their hands when they eat bread. |
「あなたの弟子たちは、なぜ昔の人々の言伝えを破るのですか。彼らは食事の時に手を洗っていません」。 |
| 15-3 |
And he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment
of God because of your tradition? |
イエスは答えて言われた、「なぜ、あなたがたも自分たちの言伝えによって、神のいましめを破っているのか。 |
| 15-4 |
For God said, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, He that
speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death. |
神は言われた、『父と母とを敬え』、また『父または母をののしる者は、必ず死に定められる』と。 |
| 15-5 |
But ye say, whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That
wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is given to God; |
それだのに、あなたがたは『だれでも父または母にむかって、あなたにさしあげるはずのこのものは供え物です、と言えば、 |
| 15-6 |
he shall not honor his father. And ye have made void the word of God because
of your tradition. |
父または母を敬わなくてもよろしい』と言っている。こうしてあなたがたは自分たちの言伝えによって、神の言を無にしている。 |
| 15-7 |
Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, |
偽善者たちよ、イザヤがあなたがたについて、こういう適切な預言をしている、 |
| 15-8 |
This people honoreth me with their lips;But their heart is far from me. |
『この民は、口さきではわたしを敬うが、その心はわたしから遠く離れている。 |
| 15-9 |
But in vain do they worship me,Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men. |
人間のいましめを教として教え、無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』」。 |
| 15-10 |
And he called to him the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: |
それからイエスは群衆を呼び寄せて言われた、「聞いて悟るがよい。 |
| 15-11 |
Not that which entereth into the mouth defileth the man; but that which
proceedeth out of the mouth, this defileth the man. |
口にはいるものは人を汚すことはない。かえって、口から出るものが人を汚すのである」。 |
| 15-12 |
Then came the disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees
were offended, when they heard this saying? |
そのとき、弟子たちが近寄ってきてイエスに言った、「パリサイ人たちが御言を聞いてつまずいたことを、ご存じですか」。 |
| 15-13 |
But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father planted
not, shall be rooted up. |
イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしの天の父がお植えにならなかったものは、みな抜き取られるであろう。 |
| 15-14 |
Let them alone: they are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind,
both shall fall into a pit. |
彼らをそのままにしておけ。彼らは盲人を手引きする盲人である。もし盲人が盲人を手引きするなら、ふたりとも穴に落ち込むであろう」。 |
| 15-15 |
And Peter answered and said unto him, Declare unto us the parable. |
ペテロが答えて言った、「その譬を説明してください」。 |
| 15-16 |
And he said, Are ye also even yet without understanding? |
イエスは言われた、「あなたがたも、まだわからないのか。 |
| 15-17 |
And he said, Are ye also even yet without understanding? |
口にはいってくるものは、みな腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出て行くことを知らないのか。 |
| 15-18 |
But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of
the heart; and they defile the man. |
しかし、口から出て行くものは、心の中から出てくるのであって、それが人を汚すのである。 |
| 15-19 |
For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,
thefts, false witness, railings: |
というのは、悪い思い、すなわち、殺人、姦淫、不品行、盗み、偽証、誹りは、心の中から出てくるのであって、 |
| 15-20 |
these are the things which defile the man; but to eat with
unwashen hands defileth not the man. |
これらのものが人を汚すのである。しかし、洗わない手で食事することは、人を汚すのではない」。 |
| 15-21 |
And Jesus went out thence, and withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Sidon. |
さて、イエスはそこを出て、ツロとシドンとの地方へ行かれた。 |
| 15-22 |
And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried,
saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously
vexed with a demon. |
すると、そこへ、その地方出のカナンの女が出てきて、「主よ、ダビデの子よ、わたしをあわれんでください。娘が悪霊にとりつかれて苦しんでいます」と言って叫びつづけた。 |
| 15-23 |
But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him,
saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. |
しかし、イエスはひと言もお答えにならなかった。そこで弟子たちがみもとにきて願って言った、「この女を追い払ってください。叫びながらついてきていますから」。 |
| 15-24 |
But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the
house of Israel. |
するとイエスは答えて言われた、「わたしは、イスラエルの家の失われた羊以外の者には、つかわされていない」。 |
| 15-25 |
But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. |
しかし、女は近寄りイエスを拝して言った、「主よ、わたしをお助けください」。 |
| 15-26 |
And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and
cast it to the dogs. |
イエスは答えて言われた、「子供たちのパンを取って小犬に投げてやるのは、よろしくない」。 |
| 15-27 |
But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which
fall from their masters’ table. |
すると女は言った、「主よ、お言葉どおりです。でも、小犬もその主人の食卓から落ちるパンくずは、いただきます」。 |
| 15-28 |
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy
faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from
that hour. |
そこでイエスは答えて言われた、「女よ、あなたの信仰は見あげたものである。あなたの願いどおりになるように」。その時に、娘はいやされた。 |
| 15-29 |
And Jesus departed thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee;
and he went up into the mountain, and sat there. |
イエスはそこを去って、ガリラヤの海べに行き、それから山に登ってそこにすわられた。 |
| 15-30 |
And there came unto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind,
dumb, maimed, and many others, and they cast them down at this feet; and
he healed them: |
すると大ぜいの群衆が、足なえ、不具者、盲人、おし、そのほか多くの人々を連れてきて、イエスの足もとに置いたので、彼らをおいやしになった。 |
| 15-31 |
insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb
speaking, the maimed whole, and lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they
glorified the God of Israel. |
群衆は、おしが物を言い、不具者が直り、足なえが歩き、盲人が見えるようになったのを見て驚き、そしてイスラエルの神をほめたたえた。 |
| 15-32 |
And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on
the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing
to eat: and I would not send them away fasting, lest haply they faint on
the way. |
イエスは弟子たちを呼び寄せて言われた、「この群衆がかわいそうである。もう三日間もわたしと一緒にいるのに、何も食べるものがない。しかし、彼らを空腹のままで帰らせたくはない。恐らく途中で弱り切ってしまうであろう」。 |
| 15-33 |
And the disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so many loaves in
a desert place as to fill so great a multitude? |
弟子たちは言った、「荒野の中で、こんなに大ぜいの群衆にじゅうぶん食べさせるほどたくさんのパンを、どこで手に入れましょうか」。 |
| 15-34 |
And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said,
Seven, and a few small fishes. |
イエスは弟子たちに「パンはいくつあるか」と尋ねられると、「七つあります。また小さい魚が少しあります」と答えた。 |
| 15-35 |
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; |
そこでイエスは群衆に、地にすわるようにと命じ、 |
| 15-36 |
and he took the seven loaves and the fishes; and he gave thanks
and brake, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. |
七つのパンと魚とを取り、感謝してこれをさき、弟子たちにわたされ、弟子たちはこれを群衆にわけた。 |
| 15-37 |
And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained
over of the broken pieces, seven baskets full. |
一同の者は食べて満腹した。そして残ったパンくずを集めると、七つのかごにいっぱいになった。 |
| 15-38 |
And they that did eat were four thousand men, besides women and children. |
食べた者は、女と子供とを除いて四千人であった。 |
| 15-39 |
And he sent away the multitudes, and entered into the boat, and
came into the borders of Magadan. |
そこでイエスは群衆を解散させ、舟に乗ってマガダンの地方へ行かれた。 |
