| 21-1 |
And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the
mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, |
さて、彼らがエルサレムに近づき、オリブ山沿いのベテパゲに着いたとき、イエスはふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、 |
| 21-2 |
saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you,
and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose
them, and bring them unto me. |
さて、彼らがエルサレムに近づき、オリブ山沿いのベテパゲに着いたとき、イエスはふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、 |
| 21-3 |
And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of
them; and straightway he will send them. |
もしだれかが、あなたがたに何か言ったなら、主がお入り用なのです、と言いなさい。そう言えば、すぐ渡してくれるであろう」。 |
| 21-4 |
Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken through the prophet, saying, |
こうしたのは、預言者によって言われたことが、成就するためである。 |
| 21-5 |
Tell ye the daughter of Zion,Behold, thy King cometh unto thee,Meek, and riding upon an ass,And upon
a colt the foal of an ass. |
すなわち、「シオンの娘に告げよ、見よ、あなたの王がおいでになる、柔和なおかたで、ろばに乗って、くびきを負うろばの子に乗って」。 |
| 21-6 |
And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them, |
弟子たちは出て行って、イエスがお命じになったとおりにし、 |
| 21-7 |
and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and
he sat thereon. |
ろばと子ろばとを引いてきた。そしてその上に自分たちの上着をかけると、イエスはそれにお乗りになった。 |
| 21-8 |
And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and
others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way. |
群衆のうち多くの者は自分たちの上着を道に敷き、また、ほかの者たちは木の枝を切ってきて道に敷いた。 |
| 21-9 |
And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried,
saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. |
そして群衆は、前に行く者も、あとに従う者も、共に叫びつづけた、「ダビデの子に、ホサナ。主の御名によってきたる者に、祝福あれ。いと高き所に、ホサナ」。 |
| 21-10 |
And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying,
Who is this? |
イエスがエルサレムにはいって行かれたとき、町中がこぞって騒ぎ立ち、「これは、いったい、どなただろう」と言った。 |
| 21-11 |
And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth
of Galilee. |
そこで群衆は、「この人はガリラヤのナザレから出た預言者イエスである」と言った。 |
| 21-12 |
And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold
and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers,
and the seats of them that sold the doves; |
それから、イエスは宮にはいられた。そして、宮の庭で売り買いしていた人々をみな追い出し、また両替人の台や、はとを売る者の腰掛をくつがえされた。 |
| 21-13 |
and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a
house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers. |
そして彼らに言われた、「『わたしの家は、祈の家ととなえらるべきである』と書いてある。それだのに、あなたがたはそれを強盗の巣にしている」。 |
| 21-14 |
And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. |
そのとき宮の庭で、盲人や足なえがみもとにきたので、彼らをおいやしになった。 |
| 21-15 |
But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that
he did, and the children that were crying in the temple and saying, Hosanna
to the son of David; they were moved with indignation, |
しかし、祭司長、律法学者たちは、イエスがなされた不思議なわざを見、また宮の庭で「ダビデの子に、ホサナ」と叫んでいる子供たちを見て立腹し、 |
| 21-16 |
and said unto him, Hearest thou what these are saying? And Jesus saith
unto them, Yea: did ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings
thou has perfected praise? |
しかし、祭司長、律法学者たちは、イエスがなされた不思議なわざを見、また宮の庭で「ダビデの子に、ホサナ」と叫んでいる子供たちを見て立腹し、 |
| 21-17 |
And he left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and
lodged there. |
それから、イエスは彼らをあとに残し、都を出てベタニヤに行き、そこで夜を過ごされた。 |
| 21-18 |
Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered. |
朝はやく都に帰るとき、イエスは空腹をおぼえられた。 |
| 21-19 |
And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing
thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it, Let there be no fruit from
thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away. |
そして、道のかたわらに一本のいちじくの木があるのを見て、そこに行かれたが、ただ葉のほかは何も見当らなかった。そこでその木にむかって、「今から後いつまでも、おまえには実がならないように」と言われた。すると、いちじくの木はたちまち枯れた。 |
| 21-20 |
And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig
tree immediately wither away? |
弟子たちはこれを見て、驚いて言った、「いちじくがどうして、こうすぐに枯れたのでしょう」。 |
| 21-21 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have
faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree,
but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast
into the sea, it shall be done. |
イエスは答えて言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。もしあなたがたが信じて疑わないならば、このいちじくにあったようなことが、できるばかりでなく、この山にむかって、動き出して海の中にはいれと言っても、そのとおりになるであろう。 |
| 21-22 |
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye
shall receive. |
また、祈のとき、信じて求めるものは、みな与えられるであろう」。 |
| 21-23 |
And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the
elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what
authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? |
イエスが宮にはいられたとき、祭司長たちや民の長老たちが、その教えておられる所にきて言った、「何の権威によって、これらの事をするのですか。だれが、そうする権威を授けたのですか」。 |
| 21-24 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one question,
which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these
things. |
そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしも一つだけ尋ねよう。あなたがたがそれに答えてくれたなら、わたしも、何の権威によってこれらの事をするのか、あなたがたに言おう。 |
| 21-25 |
The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? And they reasoned
with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto
us, Why then did ye not believe him? |
ヨハネのバプテスマはどこからきたのであったか。天からであったか、人からであったか」。すると、彼らは互に論じて言った、「もし天からだと言えば、では、なぜ彼を信じなかったのか、とイエスは言うだろう。 |
| 21-26 |
But if we shall say, From men; we fear the multitude; for all hold John
as a prophet. |
しかし、もし人からだと言えば、群衆が恐ろしい。人々がみなヨハネを預言者と思っているのだから」。 |
| 21-27 |
And they answered Jesus, and said, We know not. He also said unto them,
Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. |
そこで彼らは、「わたしたちにはわかりません」と答えた。すると、イエスが言われた、「わたしも何の権威によってこれらの事をするのか、あなたがたに言うまい。 |
| 21-28 |
But what think ye? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said,
Son, go work to-day in the vineyard. |
あなたがたはどう思うか。ある人にふたりの子があったが、兄のところに行って言った、『子よ、きょう、ぶどう園へ行って働いてくれ』。 |
| 21-29 |
And he answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented himself,
and went. |
すると彼は『おとうさん、参ります』と答えたが、行かなかった。 |
| 21-30 |
And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and
said, I go, sir: and went not. |
また弟のところにきて同じように言った。彼は『いやです』と答えたが、あとから心を変えて、出かけた。 |
| 21-31 |
Which of the two did the will of his father? They say, The first. Jesus
saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots
go into the kingdom of God before you. |
このふたりのうち、どちらが父の望みどおりにしたのか」。彼らは言った、「あとの者です」。イエスは言われた、「よく聞きなさい。取税人や遊女は、あなたがたより先に神の国にはいる。 |
| 21-32 |
For John came unto you
in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the
harlots believed him: and ye, when ye saw it, did not even repent yourselves
afterward, that ye might believe him. |
というのは、ヨハネがあなたがたのところにきて、義の道を説いたのに、あなたがたは彼を信じなかった。ところが、取税人や遊女は彼を信じた。あなたがたはそれを見たのに、あとになっても、心をいれ変えて彼を信じようとしなかった。 |
| 21-33 |
Hear another parable: There was a man that was a householder, who
planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a winepress in it, and
built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country. |
もう一つの譬を聞きなさい。ある所に、ひとりの家の主人がいたが、ぶどう園を造り、かきをめぐらし、その中に酒ぶねの穴を掘り、やぐらを立て、それを農夫たちに貸して、旅に出かけた。 |
| 21-34 |
And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the
husbandmen, to receive his fruits. |
収穫の季節がきたので、その分け前を受け取ろうとして、僕たちを農夫のところへ送った。 |
| 21-35 |
And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another,
and stoned another. |
すると、農夫たちは、その僕たちをつかまえて、ひとりを袋だたきにし、ひとりを殺し、もうひとりを石で打ち殺した。 |
| 21-36 |
Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them
in like manner. |
また別に、前よりも多くの僕たちを送ったが、彼らをも同じようにあしらった。 |
| 21-37 |
But afterward he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my
son. |
しかし、最後に、わたしの子は敬ってくれるだろうと思って、主人はその子を彼らの所につかわした。 |
| 21-38 |
But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This
is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance. |
すると農夫たちは、その子を見て互に言った、『あれはあと取りだ。さあ、これを殺して、その財産を手に入れよう』。 |
| 21-39 |
And they took him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. |
そして彼をつかまえて、ぶどう園の外に引き出して殺した。 |
| 21-40 |
When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do unto
those husbandmen? |
このぶどう園の主人が帰ってきたら、この農夫たちをどうするだろうか」。 |
| 21-41 |
They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will
let out the vineyard unto other husbandmen, who shall render him the fruits
in their seasons. |
彼らはイエスに言った、「悪人どもを、皆殺しにして、季節ごとに収穫を納めるほかの農夫たちに、そのぶどう園を貸し与えるでしょう」。 |
| 21-42 |
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected,The same was made the head of the
corner; This was from the Lord,And it is marvelous in our eyes? |
イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、聖書でまだ読んだことがないのか、『家造りらの捨てた石が／隅のかしら石になった。これは主がなされたことで、わたしたちの目には不思議に見える』。 |
| 21-43 |
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you,
and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. |
それだから、あなたがたに言うが、神の国はあなたがたから取り上げられて、御国にふさわしい実を結ぶような異邦人に与えられるであろう。 |
| 21-44 |
And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever
it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust. |
またその石の上に落ちる者は打ち砕かれ、それがだれかの上に落ちかかるなら、その人はこなみじんにされるであろう」。 |
| 21-45 |
And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived
that he spake of them. |
祭司長たちやパリサイ人たちがこの譬を聞いたとき、自分たちのことをさして言っておられることを悟ったので、 |
| 21-46 |
And when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the
multitudes, because they took him for a prophet. |
イエスを捕えようとしたが、群衆を恐れた。群衆はイエスを預言者だと思っていたからである。 |
