| 26-1 |
And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, he
said unto his disciples, |
イエスはこれらの言葉をすべて語り終えてから、弟子たちに言われた。 |

Ye know that after two days the passover cometh, and the Son of man is
delivered up to be crucified. |
「あなたがたが知っているとおり、ふつかの後には過越の祭になるが、人の子は十字架につけられるために引き渡される」。 |
| 26-3 |
Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people,
unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas; |
そのとき、祭司長たちや民の長老たちが、カヤパという大祭司の中庭に集まり、 |
| 26-4 |
and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by
subtlety, and kill him. |
策略をもってイエスを捕えて殺そうと相談した。 |
| 26-5 |
But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among the
people. |
しかし彼らは言った、「祭の間はいけない。民衆の中に騒ぎが起るかも知れない」。 |

there came unto him a woman having an alabaster cruse of exceeding precious
ointment, and she poured it upon his head, as he sat at meat. |
ひとりの女が、高価な香油が入れてある石膏のつぼを持ってきて、イエスに近寄り、食事の席についておられたイエスの頭に香油を注ぎかけた。 |
| 26-8 |
But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To
what purpose is this waste? |
すると、弟子たちはこれを見て憤って言った、「なんのためにこんなむだ使をするのか。 |
| 26-9 |
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. |
それを高く売って、貧しい人たちに施すことができたのに」。 |
| 26-10 |
But Jesus perceiving it said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she
hath wrought a good work upon me. |
イエスはそれを聞いて彼らに言われた、「なぜ、女を困らせるのか。わたしによい事をしてくれたのだ。 |
| 26-11 |
For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. |
貧しい人たちはいつもあなたがたと一緒にいるが、わたしはいつも一緒にいるわけではない。 |
| 26-12 |
in that she poured this ointment upon my body, she did it to prepare
me for burial. |
この女がわたしのからだにこの香油を注いだのは、わたしの葬りの用意をするためである。 |
| 26-13 |
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached
in the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for
a memorial of her. |
よく聞きなさい。全世界のどこででも、この福音が宣べ伝えられる所では、この女のした事も記念として語られるであろう」。 |

Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief
priests, |
時に、十二弟子のひとりイスカリオテのユダという者が、祭司長たちのところに行って |
| 26-15 |
and said, What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you?
And they weighed unto him thirty pieces of silver. |
言った、「彼をあなたがたに引き渡せば、いくらくださいますか」。すると、彼らは銀貨三十枚を彼に支払った。 |
| 26-16 |
And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him unto
them. |
その時から、ユダはイエスを引きわたそうと、機会をねらっていた。 |
| 26-17 |
Now on the first day of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou
that we make ready for thee to eat the passover? |
さて、除酵祭の第一日に、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「過越の食事をなさるために、わたしたちはどこに用意をしたらよいでしょうか」。 |
| 26-18 |
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Teacher
saith, My time is at hand; I keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. |
イエスは言われた、「市内にはいり、かねて話してある人の所に行って言いなさい、『先生が、わたしの時が近づいた、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越を守ろうと、言っておられます』」。 |
| 26-19 |
And the disciples did as Jesus appointed them; and they made ready
the passover. |
弟子たちはイエスが命じられたとおりにして、過越の用意をした。 |
| 26-20 |
Now when even was come, he was sitting at meat with the twelve disciples; |
夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒に食事の席につかれた。 |
| 26-21 |
and as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you
shall betray me. |
そして、一同が食事をしているとき言われた、「特にあなたがたに言っておくが、あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。 |
| 26-22 |
And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began to say unto him every one,
Is it I, Lord? |
弟子たちは非常に心配して、つぎつぎに「主よ、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」と言い出した。 |
| 26-23 |
And he answered and said, He that dipped his hand with me in the dish,
the same shall betray me. |
イエスは答えて言われた、「わたしと一緒に同じ鉢に手を入れている者が、わたしを裏切ろうとしている。 |
| 26-24 |
The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man
through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he
had not been born. |
たしかに人の子は、自分について書いてあるとおりに去って行く。しかし、人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである。その人は生れなかった方が、彼のためによかったであろう」。 |
| 26-25 |
And Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Is it I, Rabbi? He
saith unto him, Thou hast said. |
イエスを裏切ったユダが答えて言った、「先生、まさか、わたしではないでしょう」。イエスは言われた、「いや、あなただ」。 |
| 26-26 |
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake
it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. |
一同が食事をしているとき、イエスはパンを取り、祝福してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「取って食べよ、これはわたしのからだである」。 |
| 26-27 |
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake
it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. |
また杯を取り、感謝して彼らに与えて言われた、「みな、この杯から飲め。 |
| 26-28 |
for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto
remission of sins. |
これは、罪のゆるしを得させるようにと、多くの人のために流すわたしの契約の血である。 |
| 26-29 |
But I say unto you, I shall not drink henceforth of this fruit of
the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. |
あなたがたに言っておく。わたしの父の国であなたがたと共に、新しく飲むその日までは、わたしは今後決して、ぶどうの実から造ったものを飲むことをしない」。 |
| 26-30 |
And when they had sung a hymn, they went out unto the mount of
Olives. |
彼らは、さんびを歌った後、オリブ山へ出かけて行った。 |
| 26-31 |
Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended in me this night:
for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock
shall be scattered abroad. |
そのとき、イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「今夜、あなたがたは皆わたしにつまずくであろう。『わたしは羊飼を打つ。そして、羊の群れは散らされるであろう』と、書いてあるからである。 |
| 26-32 |
But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee. |
しかしわたしは、よみがえってから、あなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行くであろう」。 |
| 26-33 |
But Peter answered and said unto him, If all shall be offended in thee,
I will never be offended. |
するとペテロはイエスに答えて言った、「たとい、みんなの者があなたにつまずいても、わたしは決してつまずきません」。 |
| 26-34 |
Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the
cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. |
イエスは言われた、「よくあなたに言っておく。今夜、鶏が鳴く前に、あなたは三度わたしを知らないというだろう」。 |
| 26-35 |
Peter saith unto him, Even if I must die with thee, yet
will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples. |
ペテロは言った、「たといあなたと一緒に死なねばならなくなっても、あなたを知らないなどとは、決して申しません」。弟子たちもみな同じように言った。 |
| 26-36 |
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto
his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray. |
それから、イエスは彼らと一緒に、ゲツセマネという所へ行かれた。そして弟子たちに言われた、「わたしが向こうへ行って祈っている間、ここにすわっていなさい」。 |
| 26-37 |
And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be
sorrowful and sore troubled. |
そしてペテロとゼベダイの子ふたりとを連れて行かれたが、悲しみを催しまた悩みはじめられた。 |
| 26-38 |
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death:
abide ye here, and watch with me. |
そのとき、彼らに言われた、「わたしは悲しみのあまり死ぬほどである。ここに待っていて、わたしと一緒に目をさましていなさい」。 |
| 26-39 |
And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying,
My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless,
not as I will, but as thou wilt. |
そして少し進んで行き、うつぶしになり、祈って言われた、「わが父よ、もしできることでしたらどうか、この杯をわたしから過ぎ去らせてください。しかし、わたしの思いのままにではなく、みこころのままになさって下さい」。 |
| 26-40 |
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith
unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? |
それから、弟子たちの所にきてごらんになると、彼らが眠っていたので、ペテロに言われた、「あなたがたはそんなに、ひと時もわたしと一緒に目をさましていることが、できなかったのか。 |
| 26-41 |
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is
willing, but the flesh is weak. |
誘惑に陥らないように、目をさまして祈っていなさい。心は熱しているが、肉体が弱いのである」。 |
| 26-42 |
a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this
cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done. |
また二度目に行って、祈って言われた、「わが父よ、この杯を飲むほかに道がないのでしたら、どうか、みこころが行われますように」。 |
| 26-43 |
And he came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. |
またきてごらんになると、彼らはまた眠っていた。その目が重くなっていたのである。 |
| 26-44 |
And he left them again, and went away, and prayed a third time,
saying again the same words. |
それで彼らをそのままにして、また行って、三度目に同じ言葉で祈られた。 |
| 26-45 |
Then cometh he to the disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and
take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed
into the hands of sinners. |
それから弟子たちの所に帰ってきて、言われた、「まだ眠っているのか、休んでいるのか。見よ、時が迫った。人の子は罪人らの手に渡されるのだ。 |
| 26-46 |
Arise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that betrayeth me. |
立て、さあ行こう。見よ、わたしを裏切る者が近づいてきた」。 |
| 26-47 |
And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him
a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priest and elders
of the people. |
そして、イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、そこに、十二弟子のひとりのユダがきた。また祭司長、民の長老たちから送られた大ぜいの群衆も、剣と棒とを持って彼についてきた。 |
| 26-48 |
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss,
that is he: take him. |
イエスを裏切った者が、あらかじめ彼らに、「わたしの接吻する者が、その人だ。その人をつかまえろ」と合図をしておいた。 |
| 26-49 |
And straightway he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, Rabbi; and kissed him. |
彼はすぐイエスに近寄り、「先生、いかがですか」と言って、イエスに接吻した。 |
| 26-50 |
And Jesus said unto him, Friend, do that for which thou art come. Then they came and laid hands on Jesus,
and took him. |
しかし、イエスは彼に言われた、「友よ、なんのためにきたのか」。このとき、人々は進み寄って、イエスに手をかけてつかまえた。 |
| 26-51 |
And behold, one of them that were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and
drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off
his ear. |
すると、イエスと一緒にいた者のひとりが、手を伸ばして剣を抜き、そして大祭司の僕に切りかかって、その片耳を切り落した。 |
| 26-52 |
Then saith Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all
they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. |
そこで、イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたの剣をもとの所におさめなさい。剣をとる者はみな、剣で滅びる。 |
| 26-53 |
Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now
send me more than twelve legions of angels? |
それとも、わたしが父に願って、天の使たちを十二軍団以上も、今つかわしていただくことができないと、あなたは思うのか。 |
| 26-54 |
How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be? |
しかし、それでは、こうならねばならないと書いてある聖書の言葉は、どうして成就されようか」。 |
| 26-55 |
In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a
robber with swords and staves to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching,
and ye took me not. |
そのとき、イエスは群衆に言われた、「あなたがたは強盗にむかうように、剣や棒を持ってわたしを捕えにきたのか。わたしは毎日、宮ですわって教えていたのに、わたしをつかまえはしなかった。 |
| 26-56 |
But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets
might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him, and fled. |
しかし、すべてこうなったのは、預言者たちの書いたことが、成就するためである」。そのとき、弟子たちは皆イエスを見捨てて逃げ去った。 |
| 26-57 |
And they that had taken Jesus led him away to the house of Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered
together. |
さて、イエスをつかまえた人たちは、大祭司カヤパのところにイエスを連れて行った。そこには律法学者、長老たちが集まっていた。 |
| 26-58 |
But Peter followed him afar off, unto the court of the high priest, and
entered in, and sat with the officers, to see the end. |
ペテロは遠くからイエスについて、大祭司の中庭まで行き、そのなりゆきを見とどけるために、中にはいって下役どもと一緒にすわっていた。 |
| 26-59 |
Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against
Jesus, that they might put him to death; |
さて、祭司長たちと全議会とは、イエスを死刑にするため、イエスに不利な偽証を求めようとしていた。 |
| 26-60 |
and they found it not, though many false witnesses came. But afterward
came two, |
そこで多くの偽証者が出てきたが、証拠があがらなかった。しかし、最後にふたりの者が出てきて、 |
| 26-61 |
and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God,
and to build it in three days. |
言った、「この人は、わたしは神の宮を打ちこわし、三日の後に建てることができる、と言いました」。 |
| 26-62 |
And the high priest stood up, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing?
what is it which these witness against thee? |
すると、大祭司が立ち上がってイエスに言った、「何も答えないのか。これらの人々があなたに対して不利な証言を申し立てているが、どうなのか」。 |
| 26-63 |
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee
by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son
of God. |
しかし、イエスは黙っておられた。そこで大祭司は言った、「あなたは神の子キリストなのかどうか、生ける神に誓ってわれわれに答えよ」。 |
| 26-64 |
Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth
ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming
on the clouds of heaven |
イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたの言うとおりである。しかし、わたしは言っておく。あなたがたは、間もなく、人の子が力ある者の右に座し、天の雲に乗って来るのを見るであろう」。 |
| 26-65 |
Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy:
what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy: |
すると、大祭司はその衣を引き裂いて言った、「彼は神を汚した。どうしてこれ以上、証人の必要があろう。あなたがたは今このけがし言を聞いた。 |

what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death. |
あなたがたの意見はどうか」。すると、彼らは答えて言った、「彼は死に当るものだ」。 |
| 26-67 |
Then did they spit in his face and buffet him: and some smote him with
the palms of their hands, |
それから、彼らはイエスの顔につばきをかけて、こぶしで打ち、またある人は手のひらでたたいて言った、 |
| 26-68 |
saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ: who is he that struck thee?
|
「キリストよ、言いあててみよ、打ったのはだれか」。 |
| 26-69 |
Now Peter was sitting without in the court: and a maid came unto
him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilaean.
|
ペテロは外で中庭にすわっていた。するとひとりの女中が彼のところにきて、「あなたもあのガリラヤ人イエスと一緒だった」と言った。 |
| 26-70 |
But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. |
するとペテロは、みんなの前でそれを打ち消して言った、「あなたが何を言っているのか、わからない」。 |
| 26-71 |
And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and saith unto them that were there, This man also was with Jesus
of Nazareth. |
そう言って入口の方に出て行くと、ほかの女中が彼を見て、そこにいる人々にむかって、「この人はナザレ人イエスと一緒だった」と言った。 |
| 26-72 |
And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man. |
そこで彼は再びそれを打ち消して、「そんな人は知らない」と誓って言った。 |
| 26-73 |
And after a little while they that stood by came and said to
Peter, Of a truth thou also art one of them; for thy speech maketh thee
known.
|
しばらくして、そこに立っていた人々が近寄ってきて、ペテロに言った、「確かにあなたも彼らの仲間だ。言葉づかいであなたのことがわかる」。 |
| 26-74 |
Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And straightway
the cock crew. |
彼は「その人のことは何も知らない」と言って、激しく誓いはじめた。するとすぐ鶏が鳴いた。 |
| 26-75 |
And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, Before the
cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. |
ペテロは「鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われたイエスの言葉を思い出し、外に出て激しく泣いた。 |
