Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, that oppress the poor, that crush the needy, that say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink. |
「バシャンの雌牛どもよ、この言葉を聞け。あなたがたはサマリヤの山におり、弱い者をしえたげ、貧しい者を圧迫し、またその主人に向かって、『持ってきて、わたしたちに飲ませよ』と言う。 |

The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that they shall take you away with hooks, and your residue with fish-hooks. |
主なる神はご自分の聖なることによって誓われた、見よ、あなたがたの上にこのような時が来る。その時、人々はあなたがたをつり針にかけ、あなたがたの残りの者を魚つり針にかけて引いて行く。 |

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one straight before her; and ye shall cast yourselves into Harmon, saith Jehovah. |
あなたがたはおのおのまっすぐに石がきの破れた所を出て、ハルモンに追いやられる」と主は言われる。 |

Come to Beth-el, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes every three days; |
「あなたがたはベテルへ行って罪を犯し、ギルガルへ行って、とがを増し加えよ。朝ごとに、あなたがたの犠牲を携えて行け、三日ごとに、あなたがたの十分の一を携えて行け。 |

and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim freewill-offerings and publish them: for this pleaseth you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
種を入れたパンの感謝祭をささげ、心よりの供え物をふれ示せ。イスラエルの人々よ、あなたがたはこのようにするのを好んでいる」と主なる神は言われる。 |

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places; yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. |
「わたしはまた、あなたがたのすべての町であなたがたの歯を清くし、あなたがたのすべての所でパンを乏しくした。それでも、あなたがたはわたしに帰らなかった」と主は言われる。 |

And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. |
「わたしはまた、刈入れまでなお三月あるのに雨をとどめて、あなたがたの上にくださず、この町には雨を降らし、この畑は雨をえ、かの畑は雨をえないで枯れた。 |

So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, and were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. |
そこで二つ三つの町が一つの町によろめいて行って、水を飲んでも、飽くことができなかった。それでも、あなたがたはわたしに帰らなかった」と主は言われる。 |

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: the multitude of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig-trees and your olive-trees hath the palmer-worm devoured: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. |
「わたしは立ち枯れと腐り穂とをもってあなたがたを撃ち、あなたがたの園と、ぶどう畑とを荒した。いちじくの木とオリブの木とは、いなごが食った。それでも、あなたがたはわたしに帰らなかった」と主は言われる。 |

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have carried away your horses; and I have made the stench of your camp to come up even into your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. |
「わたしはエジプトにしたようにあなたがたのうちに疫病を送り、つるぎをもってあなたがたの若者を殺し、あなたがたの馬を奪い去り、あなたがたの宿営の臭気を上らせて、あなたがたの鼻をつかせた。それでも、あなたがたはわたしに帰らなかった」と主は言われる。 |

I have overthrown cities among you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a brand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah. |
「わたしはあなたがたのうちの町を神がソドムとゴモラを滅ぼされた時のように滅ぼしたので、あなたがたは炎の中から取り出された燃えさしのようであった。それでも、あなたがたはわたしに帰らなかった」と主は言われる。 |
| 4-12 |
Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. |
「それゆえイスラエルよ、わたしはこのようにあなたに行う。わたしはこれを行うゆえ、イスラエルよ、あなたの神に会う備えをせよ」。 |

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought; that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the Earth? Jehovah, the God of hosts, is his name. |
見よ、彼は山を造り、風を創造し、人にその思いのいかなるかを示し、また、あけぼのを変えて暗やみとなし、地の高い所を踏まれる者、その名を万軍の神、主と言う。 |
