| 24-1 |
And he said unto Moses, Come up unto Jehovah, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off: |
また、モーセに言われた、「あなたはアロン、ナダブ、アビウおよびイスラエルの七十人の長老たちと共に、主のもとにのぼってきなさい。そしてあなたがたは遠く離れて礼拝しなさい。 |
| 24-2 |
and Moses alone shall come near unto Jehovah; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him. |
ただモーセひとりが主に近づき、他の者は近づいてはならない。また、民も彼と共にのぼってはならない」。 |
| 24-3 |
And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the ordinances: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Jehovah hath spoken will we do. |
モーセはきて、主のすべての言葉と、すべてのおきてとを民に告げた。民はみな同音に答えて言った、「わたしたちは主の仰せられた言葉を皆、行います」。 |
| 24-4 |
And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. |
そしてモーセは主の言葉を、ことごとく書きしるし、朝はやく起きて山のふもとに祭壇を築き、イスラエルの十二部族に従って十二の柱を建て、 |
| 24-5 |
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto Jehovah. |
イスラエルの人々のうちの若者たちをつかわして、主に燔祭をささげさせ、また酬恩祭として雄牛をささげさせた。 |
| 24-6 |
And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. |
その時モーセはその血の半ばを取って、鉢に入れ、また、その血の半ばを祭壇に注ぎかけた。 |
| 24-7 |
And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Jehovah hath spoken will we do, and be obedient. |
そして契約の書を取って、これを民に読み聞かせた。すると、彼らは答えて言った、「わたしたちは主が仰せられたことを皆、従順に行います」。 |
| 24-8 |
And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Jehovah hath made with you concerning all these words. |
そこでモーセはその血を取って、民に注ぎかけ、そして言った、「見よ、これは主がこれらのすべての言葉に基いて、あなたがたと結ばれる契約の血である」。 |
| 24-9 |
Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. |
こうしてモーセはアロン、ナダブ、アビウおよびイスラエルの七十人の長老たちと共にのぼって行った。 |
| 24-10 |
And they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and as it were the very heaven for clearness. |
そして、彼らがイスラエルの神を見ると、その足の下にはサファイアの敷石のごとき物があり、澄み渡るおおぞらのようであった。 |
| 24-11 |
And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: and they beheld God, and did eat and drink. |
神はイスラエルの人々の指導者たちを手にかけられなかったので、彼らは神を見て、飲み食いした。 |
| 24-12 |
And Jehovah said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayest teach them. |
ときに主はモーセに言われた、「山に登り、わたしの所にきて、そこにいなさい。彼らを教えるために、わたしが律法と戒めとを書きしるした石の板をあなたに授けるであろう」。 |
| 24-13 |
And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister: and Moses went up into the mount of God. |
そこでモーセは従者ヨシュアと共に立ちあがり、モーセは神の山に登った。 |
| 24-14 |
And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: whosoever hath a cause, let him come near unto them. |
彼は長老たちに言った、「わたしたちがあなたがたの所に帰って来るまで、ここで待っていなさい。見よ、アロンとホルとが、あなたがたと共にいるから、事ある者は、だれでも彼らの所へ行きなさい」。 |
| 24-15 |
And Moses went up into the mount, and the cloud covered the mount. |
こうしてモーセは山に登ったが、雲は山をおおっていた。 |
| 24-16 |
And the glory of Jehovah abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. |
主の栄光がシナイ山の上にとどまり、雲は六日のあいだ、山をおおっていたが、七日目に主は雲の中からモーセを呼ばれた。 |
| 24-17 |
And the appearance of the glory of Jehovah was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. |
主の栄光は山の頂で、燃える火のようにイスラエルの人々の目に見えたが、 |
| 24-18 |
And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. |
モーセは雲の中にはいって、山に登った。そしてモーセは四十日四十夜、山にいた。 |
