9-1 Then Jehovah said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 主はモーセに言われた、「パロのもとに行って、彼に言いなさい、『ヘブルびとの神、主はこう仰せられる、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
9-2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still, あなたがもし彼らを去らせることを拒んで、なお彼らを留めおくならば、
9-3 behold, the hand of Jehovah is upon thy cattle which are in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the herds, and upon the flocks: there shall be a very grievous murrain. 主の手は最も激しい疫病をもって、野にいるあなたの家畜、すなわち馬、ろば、らくだ、牛、羊の上に臨むであろう。
9-4 And Jehovah shall make a distinction between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that belongeth to the children of Israel. しかし、主はイスラエルの家畜と、エジプトの家畜を区別され、すべてイスラエルの人々に属するものには一頭も死ぬものがないであろう」と』」。
9-5 And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, To-morrow Jehovah shall do this thing in the land. 主は、また、時を定めて仰せられた、「あす、主はこのことを国に行うであろう」。
9-6 And Jehovah did that thing on the morrow; and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one. あくる日、主はこのことを行われたので、エジプトびとの家畜はみな死んだ。しかし、イスラエルの人々の家畜は一頭も死ななかった。
9-7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he did not let the people go. パロは人をつかわして見させたが、イスラエルの家畜は一頭も死んでいなかった。それでもパロの心はかたくなで、民を去らせなかった。
9-8 And Jehovah said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh. 主はモーセとアロンに言われた、「あなたがたは、かまどのすすを両手いっぱい取り、それをモーセはパロの目の前で天にむかって、まき散らしなさい。
9-9 And it shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt. それはエジプトの全国にわたって、細かいちりとなり、エジプト全国で人と獣に付いて、うみの出るはれものとなるであろう」。
9-10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man and upon beast. そこで彼らは、かまどのすすを取ってパロの前に立ち、モーセは天にむかってこれをまき散らしたので、人と獣に付いて、うみの出るはれものとなった。
9-11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. 魔術師らは、はれもののためにモーセの前に立つことができなかった。はれものが魔術師らと、すべてのエジプトびとに生じたからである。
9-12 And Jehovah hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them, as Jehovah had spoken unto Moses. しかし、主はパロの心をかたくなにされたので、彼は主がモーセに語られたように、彼らの言うことを聞かなかった。
9-13 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 主はまたモーセに言われた、「朝早く起き、パロの前に立って、彼に言いなさい、『ヘブルびとの神、主はこう仰せられる、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
9-14 For I will this time send all my plagues upon thy heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. わたしは、こんどは、もろもろの災を、あなたと、あなたの家来と、あなたの民にくだし、わたしに並ぶものが全地にないことを知らせるであろう。
9-15 For now I had put forth my hand, and smitten thee and thy people with pestilence, and thou hadst been cut off from the earth: わたしがもし、手をさし伸べ、疫病をもって、あなたと、あなたの民を打っていたならば、あなたは地から断ち滅ぼされていたであろう。
9-16 but in very deed for this cause have I made thee to stand, to show thee my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. しかし、わたしがあなたをながらえさせたのは、あなたにわたしの力を見させるため、そして、わたしの名が全地に宣べ伝えられるためにほかならない。
9-17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go? それに、あなたはなお、わたしの民にむかって、おのれを高くし、彼らを去らせようとしない。
9-18 Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now. ゆえに、あすの今ごろ、わたしは恐ろしく大きな雹を降らせるであろう。それはエジプトの国が始まった日から今まで、かつてなかったほどのものである。
9-19 Now therefore send, hasten in thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; for every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. それゆえ、いま、人をやって、あなたの家畜と、あなたが野にもっているすべてのものを、のがれさせなさい。人も獣も、すべて野にあって家に帰らないものは降る雹に打たれて死ぬであろう」と』」。
9-20 He that feared the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses. パロの家来のうち、主の言葉をおそれる者は、そのしもべと家畜を家にのがれさせたが、
9-21 And he that regarded not the word of Jehovah left his servants and his cattle in the field. 主の言葉を意にとめないものは、そのしもべと家畜を野に残しておいた。
9-22 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたの手を天にむかってさし伸べ、エジプトの全国にわたって、エジプトの地にいる人と獣と畑のすべての青物の上に雹を降らせなさい」。
9-23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and Jehovah sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down unto the earth; and Jehovah rained hail upon the land of Egypt. モーセが天にむかってつえをさし伸べると、主は雷と雹をおくられ、火は地にむかって、はせ下った。こうして主は、雹をエジプトの地に降らされた。
9-24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. そして雹が降り、雹の間に火がひらめき渡った。雹は恐ろしく大きく、エジプト全国には、国をなしてこのかた、かつてないものであった。
9-25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. 雹はエジプト全国にわたって、すべて畑にいる人と獣を打った。雹はまた畑のすべての青物を打ち、野のもろもろの木を折り砕いた。
9-26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. ただイスラエルの人々のいたゴセンの地には、雹が降らなかった。
9-27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: Jehovah is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. そこで、パロは人をつかわし、モーセとアロンを召して言った、「わたしはこんどは罪を犯した。主は正しく、わたしと、わたしの民は悪い。
9-28 Entreat Jehovah; for there hath been enough of these mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. 主に祈願してください。この雷と雹はもうじゅうぶんです。わたしはあなたがたを去らせます。もはやとどまらなくてもよろしい」。
9-29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto Jehovah; the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is Jehovah’s. モーセは彼に言った、「わたしは町を出ると、すぐ、主にむかってわたしの手を伸べひろげます。すると雷はやみ、雹はもはや降らなくなり、あなたは、地が主のものであることを知られましょう。
9-30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear Jehovah God. しかし、あなたとあなたの家来たちは、なお、神なる主を恐れないことを、わたしは知っています」。
9-31 And the flax and the barley were smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom. 亜麻と大麦は打ち倒された。大麦は穂を出し、亜麻は花が咲いていたからである。
9-32 But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten: for they were not grown up. 小麦とスペルタ麦はおくてであるため打ち倒されなかった。
9-33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto Jehovah: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth. モーセはパロのもとを去り、町を出て、主にむかって手を伸べひろげたので、雷と雹はやみ、雨は地に降らなくなった。
9-34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants. ところがパロは雨と雹と雷がやんだのを見て、またも罪を犯し、心をかたくなにした。彼も家来も、そうであった。
9-35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the children of Israel go, as Jehovah had spoken by Moses. すなわちパロは心をかたくなにし、主がモーセによって語られたように、イスラエルの人々を去らせなかった。
