And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and sat before me. |
第七年の五月十日に、イスラエルの長老たちのある人々が、主に尋ねるためにきて、わたしの前に座した。 |
| 20-2 |
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
時に主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 20-3 |
Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Is it to inquire of me that ye are come? As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you. |
「人の子よ、イスラエルの長老たちに告げて言え。主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたがわたしのもとに来たのは、わたしに何か尋ねるためであるか。主なる神は言われる、わたしは生きている、わたしはあなたがたの尋ねに答えない。 |
| 20-4 |
Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers; |
あなたは彼らをさばこうとするのか。人の子よ、あなたは彼らをさばこうとするのか。それなら彼らの先祖たちのした憎むべき事を彼らに知らせ、 |

and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when I chose Israel, and sware unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I sware unto them, saying, I am Jehovah your God; |
かつ彼らに言え。主なる神はこう言われる、わたしがイスラエルを選び、ヤコブの家の子孫に誓い、エジプトの地でわたし自身を彼らに知らせ彼らに誓って、わたしはあなたがたの神、主であると言った日、 |
| 20-6 |
in that day I sware unto them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands. |
その日にわたしは彼らに誓って、エジプトの地から彼らを導き出し、わたしが彼らのために探り求めた乳と蜜との流れる地、全地の中で最もすばらしい所へ行かせると言った。 |
| 20-7 |
And I said unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God. |
わたしは彼らに言った、あなたがたは、おのおのその目を楽しませる憎むべきものを捨てよ。エジプトの偶像をもって、その身を汚すな。わたしはあなたがたの神、主であると。 |
| 20-8 |
But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me; they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. |
ところが彼らはわたしにそむき、わたしの言うことを聞こうともしなかった。彼らは、おのおのその目を楽しませた憎むべきものを捨てず、またエジプトの偶像を捨てなかった。それで、わたしはエジプトの地のうちで、わたしの憤りを彼らに注ぎ、わたしの怒りを彼らに漏らそうと思った。 |
| 20-9 |
But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt. |
しかしわたしはわたしの名のために行動した。それはエジプトの地から彼らを導き出して、周囲に住んでいた異邦人たちに、わたしのことを知らせ、わたしの名が彼らの目の前に、はずかしめられないためである。 |
| 20-10 |
So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. |
すなわち、わたしはエジプトの地から彼らを導き出して、荒野に連れて行き、 |
| 20-11 |
And I gave them my statutes, and showed them mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live in them. |
わたしの定めを彼らに授け、わたしのおきてを彼らに示した。これは人がこれを行うことによって生きるものである。 |
| 20-12 |
Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah that sanctifieth them. |
わたしはまた彼らに安息日を与えて、わたしと彼らとの間のしるしとした。これは主なるわたしが彼らを聖別したことを、彼らに知らせるためである。 |
| 20-13 |
But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. |
しかしイスラエルの家は荒野でわたしにそむき、わたしの定めに歩まず、人がそれを行うことによって、生きることのできるわたしのおきてを捨て、大いにわたしの安息日を汚した。そこでわたしは荒野で、わたしの憤りを彼らの上に注ぎ、これを滅ぼそうと思ったが、 |

But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out. |
わたしはわたしの名のために行動した。それはわたしが彼らを導き出して見せた異邦人の前に、わたしの名が汚されないためである。 |
| 20-15 |
Moreover also I sware unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; |
ただし、わたしは荒野で彼らに誓い、わたしが彼らに与えた乳と蜜との流れる地、全地の最もすばらしい地に、彼らを導かないと言った。 |
| 20-16 |
because they rejected mine ordinances, and walked not in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. |
これは彼らがその心に偶像を慕って、わがおきてを捨て、わが定めに歩まず、わが安息日を汚したからである。 |
| 20-17 |
Nevertheless mine eye spared them, and I destroyed them not, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness. |
けれどもわたしは彼らを惜しみ見て、彼らを滅ぼさず、荒野で彼らを絶やさなかった。 |
| 20-18 |
And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols. |
わたしはまた荒野で彼らの子どもたちに言った、あなたがたの先祖の定めに歩んではならない。そのおきてを守ってはならない。その偶像をもって、あなたがたの身を汚してはならない。 |
| 20-19 |
I am Jehovah your God: walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; |
主なるわたしはあなたがたの神である。わが定めに歩み、わがおきてを守ってこれを行い、 |
| 20-20 |
and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God. |
わが安息日を聖別せよ。これはわたしとあなたがたとの間のしるしとなって、主なるわたしがあなたがたの神であることを、あなたがたに知らせるためである。 |
| 20-21 |
But the children rebelled against me; they walked not in my statutes, neither kept mine ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. |
しかしその子どもたちはわたしにそむき、わが定めに歩まず、人がこれを行うことによって、生きることのできるわたしのおきてを守り行わず、わが安息日を汚した。そこでわたしはわが憤りを彼らの上に注ぎ、荒野で彼らに対し、わが怒りを漏らそうと思った。 |
| 20-22 |
Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth. |
しかしわたしはわが手を翻して、わが名のために行動した。それはわたしが彼らを導き出して見せた異邦人の前に、わたしの名が汚されないためである。 |
| 20-23 |
Moreover I sware unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries; |
ただしわたしは荒野で彼らに誓い、わたしは異邦人の間に彼らを散らし、国々の中に彼らをふりまくと言った。 |
| 20-24 |
because they had not executed mine ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols. |
これは彼らがわがおきてを行わず、わが定めを捨て、わが安息日を汚し、彼らの目にその先祖の偶像を慕ったからである。 |
| 20-25 |
Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances wherein they should not live; |
またわたしは彼らに良くない定めと、それによって生きることのできないおきてとを与え、 |
| 20-26 |
and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Jehovah. |
そして、彼らのういごに火の中を通らせるその供え物によって、彼らを汚し、彼らを恐れさせた。わたしがこれを行ったのは、わたしが主であることを、彼らに知らせるためである。 |
| 20-27 |
Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me. |
それゆえ人の子よ、イスラエルの家に告げて言え。主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたの先祖はまた、不信の罪を犯してわたしを汚した。 |
| 20-28 |
For when I had brought them into the land, which I sware to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their sweet savor, and they poured out there their drink-offerings. |
わたしが彼らに与えようと誓った地に、彼らを導き入れた時、彼らはすべての高い丘と、すべての茂った木とを見て、その所で犠牲をささげ、忌むべき供え物をささげ、またこうばしいかおりをその所に上らせ、その所に灌祭を注いだ。 |
| 20-29 |
Then I said unto them, What meaneth the high place whereunto ye go? So the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day. |
（わたしは彼らに言った、あなたがたが通うその高き所はなんであるか。それでその名は今日までバマととなえられている。） |
| 20-30 |
Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Do ye pollute yourselves after the manner of your fathers? and play ye the harlot after their abominations? |
それゆえ、イスラエルの家に言え。主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたは、その先祖のおこないに従って、その身を汚し、その憎むべきものを慕うのか。 |
| 20-31 |
and when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, do ye pollute yourselves with all your idols unto this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you; |
あなたがたは、その供え物をささげ、その子供に火の中を通らせて、今日まですべての偶像をもって、その身を汚すのである。イスラエルの家よ、わたしは、なおあなたがたに尋ねられるべきであろうか。わたしは生きている。わたしは決してあなたがたに尋ねられるはずはないと、主なる神は言われる。 |
| 20-32 |
and that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, in that ye say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. |
あなたがたの心にあること、すなわち『われわれは異邦人のようになり、国々のもろもろのやからのようになって、木や石を拝もう』との考えは決して成就しない。 |
| 20-33 |
As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you: |
主なる神は言われる、わたしは生きている、わたしは必ず強い手と伸べた腕と注がれた憤りとをもって、あなたがたを治める。 |
| 20-34 |
and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out; |
わたしはわが強い手と伸べた腕と注がれた憤りとをもって、あなたがたをもろもろの民の中から導き出し、その散らされた国々から集め、 |
| 20-35 |
and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face. |
もろもろの民の荒野に導き入れ、その所で顔と顔とを合わせて、あなたがたをさばく。 |
| 20-36 |
Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
すなわち、エジプトの地の荒野で、あなたがたの先祖をさばいたように、わたしはあなたがたをさばくと、主なる神は言われる。 |
| 20-37 |
And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; |
わたしはあなたがたに、むちの下を通らせ、数えてはいらせ、 |
| 20-38 |
and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. |
あなたがたのうちから、従わぬ者と、わたしにそむいた者とを分かち、その寄留した地から、彼らを導き出す。しかし彼らはイスラエルの地に入ることはできない。こうしてあなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。 |
| 20-39 |
As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Go ye, serve every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me; but my holy name shall ye no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols. |
それで、イスラエルの家よ、主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたはわたしに聞かないなら、今も後も、おのおのその偶像に行って仕えるがよい。しかし再び供え物と偶像とをもって、わたしの聖なる名を汚してはならない。 |
| 20-40 |
For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. |
主なる神は言われる、わたしの聖なる山、イスラエルの高い山の上で、イスラエルの全家はその地で、ことごとくわたしに仕える。その所でわたしは喜んで彼らを受けいれ、あなたがたのささげ物と最上の供え物とを、その聖なるささげ物と共に求める。 |
| 20-41 |
As a sweet savor will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations. |
わたしがあなたがたをもろもろの民の中から導き出し、かつてあなたがたを散らした国々から集める時、こうばしいかおりとして、あなたがたを喜んで受けいれる。そしてわたしは異邦人の前で、あなたがたの中に、わたしの聖なることをあらわす。 |
| 20-42 |
And ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I sware to give unto your fathers. |
こうしてわたしがあなたがたを、イスラエルの地、すなわちあなたがたの先祖たちに与えると誓った地に、はいらせる時、あなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。 |
| 20-43 |
And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have polluted yourselves; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. |
またその所であなたがたは、その身を汚したあなたがたのおこないと、すべてのわざとを思い出し、みずから行ったすべての悪事のために、自分を忌みきらうようになる。 |
| 20-44 |
And ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
イスラエルの家よ、わたしがあなたがたの悪しきおこないによらず、またその腐れたわざによらず、わたしの名のために、あなたがたを扱う時、あなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るのであると、主なる神は言われる」。 |
| 20-45 |
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 20-46 |
Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South; |
「人の子よ、顔を南に向け、南に向かって語り、ネゲブの森の地に対して預言せよ。 |
| 20-47 |
and say to the forest of the South, Hear the word of Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby. |
すなわちネゲブの森に言え、主の言葉を聞け、主なる神はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはあなたのうちに火を燃やす。その火はあなたのうちのすべての青木と、すべての枯れ木を焼き滅ぼし、その燃える炎は消されることがなく、南から北まで、すべての地のおもては、これがために焼ける。 |
| 20-48 |
And all flesh shall see that I, Jehovah, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched. |
すべて肉なる者は、主なるわたしがこれを焼いたことを見る。その火は消されない」。 |
| 20-49 |
Then said I, Ah Lord Jehovah! they say of me, Is he not a speaker of parables? |
そこでわたしは言った、「ああ主なる神よ、彼らはわたしについてこう語っています、『彼はたとえをもって語る者ではないか』と」。 |
