| 21-1 |
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 21-2 |
Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel; |
「人の子よ、あなたの顔をエルサレムに向け、あなたの言葉を聖所に向けてのべ、イスラエルの地に向かって預言し、 |
| 21-3 |
and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked. |
イスラエルの地に言え。主はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはあなたを攻め、わたしのつるぎをさやから抜き、あなたのうちから、正しい者も悪しき者をも断ってしまう。 |
| 21-4 |
Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: |
わたしがあなたのうちから、正しい者も悪しき者をも断つゆえに、わたしのつるぎはさやから抜け出て、南から北までのすべての肉なる者を攻める。 |
| 21-5 |
and all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more. |
すべて肉なる者は、主なるわたしが、そのつるぎをさやから抜き放ったことを知る。このつるぎは再びさやに納められない。 |
| 21-6 |
Sigh therefore, thou son of man; with the breaking of thy loins and with bitterness shalt thou sigh before their eyes. |
それゆえ、人の子よ、嘆け、心砕けるまでに嘆き、彼らの目の前でいたく嘆け。 |
| 21-7 |
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
人があなたに向かって、『なぜ嘆くのか』と言うなら、『この知らせのためである。それが来れば人の心はみな溶け、手はみななえ、霊はみな弱り、ひざはみな水のようになる。見よ、それは来る、必ず成就する』と言え」と主なる神は言われる。 |

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 21-9 |
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished; |
「人の子よ、預言して言え、主はこう言われる、つるぎがある、とぎ、かつ、みがいたつるぎがある。 |
| 21-10 |
it is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it contemneth every tree. |
殺すためにといであり、いなずまのようにきらめくためにみがいてある。わたしたちは喜ぶことができるか。わが子よ、あなたはつえと、すべて木で作ったものとを軽んじた。 |
| 21-11 |
And it is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yea, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer. |
このつるぎは手にとるために、とがれ、殺す者の手に渡すために、とがれみがかれるのである。 |
| 21-12 |
Cry and wail, son of man; for it is upon my people, it is upon all the princes of Israel: they are delivered over to the sword with my people; smite therefore upon thy thigh. |
人の子よ、叫び嘆け、このことはわが民に臨み、イスラエルのすべての君たちに臨むからである。彼らはわが民と共につるぎにわたされる。それゆえ、あなたのももを打て。 |
| 21-13 |
For there is a trial; and what if even the rod that contemneth shall be no more? saith the Lord Jehovah. |
これはためしにすることではない。もしあなたが、つえをあざけったら、どういうことになろうか」と主なる神は言われる。 |
| 21-14 |
Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one that is deadly wounded, which entereth into their chambers. |
「それゆえ、人の子よ、あなたは預言し、手を打ちならせ。つるぎを二度も三度も臨ませよ。これは人を殺すつるぎ、大いに殺すつるぎであって、彼らを囲むものである。 |
| 21-15 |
I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter. |
これがために彼らの心は溶け、多くの者がすべての門に倒れる。わたしはひらめくつるぎを彼らに送る。ああ、これはいなずまのようになり、人を殺すためにみがかれている。 |
| 21-16 |
Gather thee together, go to the right, set thyself in array, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is set. |
あなたの刃の向かうところで、右に左になぎ倒せ。 |
| 21-17 |
I will also smite my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest: I, Jehovah, have spoken it. |
わたしもまた、わたしの手を打ちならし、わたしの怒りをしずめると、主なるわたしは言った」。 |
| 21-18 |
The word of Jehovah came unto me again, saying, |
主の言葉がまたわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 21-19 |
Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they twain shall come forth out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city. |
「人の子よ、バビロンの王のつるぎが来るために、二つの道を備えよ。この二つの道は一つの国から出ている。あなたは道しるべを作り、これを町に向かう道のはじめに置け。 |
| 21-20 |
Thou shalt appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified. |
あなたはまたアンモンの人々のラバと、ユダと、堅固な城の町エルサレムとにつるぎの来る道を設けよ。 |
| 21-21 |
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows to and fro, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver. |
バビロンの王は道の分れ目、二つの道のはじめに立って占いをし、矢をふり、テラピムに問い、肝を見る。 |
| 21-22 |
In his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts. |
彼の右にエルサレムのために占いが出る。すなわち口を開いて叫び、声をあげ、ときを作り、門に向かって城くずしを設け、塁を築き、雲悌を建てよと言う。 |
| 21-23 |
And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths unto them; but he bringeth iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken. |
しかしこれは彼らの目には偽りの占いと思われ、彼らは堅き誓いをなした。しかし彼は、彼らを捕えることによって、罪を思い出させる。 |
| 21-24 |
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand. |
それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、あなたがたの罪は覚えられ、その反逆は現れ、その罪はすべてのわざに現れる。このようにあなたがたは、すでに覚えられているから、彼らの手に捕えられる。 |
| 21-25 |
And thou, O deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end, |
汚れた悪人であるイスラエルの君よ、あなたの終りの刑罰の時であるその日が来る。 |
| 21-26 |
thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this shall be no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high. |
主なる神はこう言われる、かぶり物を脱ぎ、冠を取り離せ。すべてのものは、そのままには残らない。卑しい者は高くされ、高い者は卑しくされる。 |
| 21-27 |
I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him. |
ああ破滅、破滅、破滅、わたしはこれをこさせる。わたしが与える権威をもつ者が来る時まで、その跡形さえも残らない。 |
| 21-28 |
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say thou, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning; |
人の子よ、預言して言え。主なる神はアンモンの人々と、そのあざけりについて、こう言われる、つるぎがある。このつるぎは殺すために抜かれ、いなずまのようにひかりきらめくようにとがれている。 |
| 21-29 |
while they see for thee false visions, while they divine lies unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are deadly wounded, whose day is come in the time of the iniquity of the end. |
彼らがあなたに偽りの幻を示し、偽りを占ったゆえ、これは殺さるべき悪しき者の首の上に置かれる。彼らの終りの刑罰の時であるその日がきている。 |
| 21-30 |
Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth, will I judge thee. |
これをさやに納めよ、わたしはあなたの造られた所、あなたの生れた地であなたをさばく。 |
| 21-31 |
And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee; I will blow upon thee with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy. |
わたしの怒りをあなたに注ぎ、わたしの憤りの火をあなたに向けて燃やし、滅ぼすことに巧みな残忍な人の手にあなたを渡す。 |
| 21-32 |
Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I, Jehovah, have spoken it. |
あなたは火のための、たきぎとなり、あなたの血は国の中に流され、覚えられることはない、主なるわたしが言う」。 |
