| 38-1 |
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 38-2 |
Son of man, set thy face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, |
「人の子よ、メセクとトバルの大君であるマゴグの地のゴグに、あなたの顔を向け、これに対して預言して、 |
| 38-3 |
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: |
言え。主なる神はこう言われる、メセクとトバルの大君であるゴグよ、見よ、わたしはあなたの敵となる。 |
| 38-4 |
and I will turn thee about, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords; |
わたしはあなたを引きもどし、あなたのあごにかぎをかけて、あなたと、あなたのすべての軍勢と、馬と、騎兵とを引き出す。彼らはみな武具をつけ、大盾、小盾を持ち、すべてつるぎをとる者で大軍である。 |
| 38-5 |
Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet; |

| 38-6 |
Gomer, and all his hordes; the house of Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his hordes; even many peoples with thee. |

| 38-7 |
Be thou prepared, yea, prepare thyself, thou, and all thy companies that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. |
あなたは備えをなせ。あなたとあなたの所に集まった軍隊は、みな備えをなせ。そしてあなたは彼らの保護者となれ。 |
| 38-8 |
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, upon the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought forth out of the peoples, and they shall dwell securely, all of them. |
多くの日の後、あなたは集められ、終りの年にあなたは戦いから回復された地、すなわち多くの民の中から、人々が集められた地に向かい、久しく荒れすたれたイスラエルの山々に向かって進む。その人々は国々から導き出されて、みな安らかに住んでいる。 |
| 38-9 |
And thou shalt ascend, thou shalt come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy hordes, and many peoples with thee. |
あなたはそのすべての軍隊および多くの民を率いて上り、暴風のように進み、雲のように地をおおう。 |
| 38-10 |
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: It shall come to pass in that day, that things shall come into thy mind, and thou shalt devise an evil device: |
主なる神はこう言われる、その日に、あなたの心に思いが起り、悪い計りごとを企てて、 |
| 38-11 |
and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates; |
言う、『わたしは無防備の村々の地に上り、穏やかにして安らかに住む民、すべて石がきもなく、貫の木も門もない地に住む者どもを攻めよう』と。 |
| 38-12 |
to take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn thy hand against the waste places that are now inhabited, and against the people that are gathered out of the nations, that have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle of the earth. |
そしてあなたは物を奪い、物をかすめ、いま人の住むようになっている荒れ跡を攻め、また国々から集まってきて、地の中央に住み、家畜と貨財とを持つ民を攻めようとする。 |
| 38-13 |
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take the spoil? hast thou assembled thy company to take the prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great spoil? |
シバ、デダン、タルシシの商人、およびそのもろもろの村々はあなたに言う、『あなたは物を奪うために来たのか。物をかすめるために軍隊を集めたのか。あなたは金銀を持ち去り、家畜と貨財とを取りあげ、大いに物を奪おうとするのか』と。 |
| 38-14 |
Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth securely, shalt thou not know it? |
それゆえ、人の子よ、ゴグに預言して言え。主なる神はこう言われる、わが民イスラエルの安らかに住むその日に、あなたは立ちあがり、 |
| 38-15 |
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the uttermost parts of the north, thou, and many peoples with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company and a mighty army; |
北の果のあなたの所から来る。多くの民はあなたと共におり、みな馬に乗り、その軍隊は大きく、その兵士は強い。 |
| 38-16 |
and thou shalt come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. |
あなたはわが民イスラエルに攻めのぼり、雲のように地をおおう。ゴグよ、終りの日にわたしはあなたを、わが国に攻めきたらせ、あなたをとおして、わたしの聖なることを諸国民の目の前にあらわして、彼らにわたしを知らせる。 |
| 38-17 |
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Art thou he of whom I spake in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, that prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring thee against them? |
主なる神はこう言われる、わたしが昔、わがしもべイスラエルの預言者たちによって語ったのは、あなたのことではないか。すなわち彼らは、そのころ年久しく預言して、わたしはあなたを送って、彼らを攻めさせると言ったではないか。 |
| 38-18 |
And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, that my wrath shall come up into my nostrils. |
しかし主なる神は言われる、その日、すなわちゴグがイスラエルの地に攻め入る日に、わが怒りは現れる。 |
| 38-19 |
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; |
わたしは、わがねたみと、燃えたつ怒りとをもって言う。その日には必ずイスラエルの地に、大いなる震動があり、 |
| 38-20 |
so that the fishes of the sea, and the birds of the heavens, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. |
海の魚、空の鳥、野の獣、すべての地に這うもの、地のおもてにあるすべての人は、わが前に打ち震える。また山々はくずれ、がけは落ち、すべての石がきは地に倒れる。 |
| 38-21 |
And I will call for a sword against him unto all my mountains, saith the Lord Jehovah: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. |
主なる神は言われる、わたしはゴグに対し、すべての恐れを呼びよせる。すべての人のつるぎは、その兄弟に向けられる。 |
| 38-22 |
And with pestilence and with blood will I enter into judgment with him; and I will rain upon him, and upon his hordes, and upon the many peoples that are with him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. |
わたしは疫病と流血とをもって彼をさばく。わたしはみなぎる雨と、ひょうと、火と、硫黄とを、彼とその軍隊および彼と共におる多くの民の上に降らせる。 |
| 38-23 |
And I will magnify myself, and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. |
そしてわたしはわたしの大いなることと、わたしの聖なることとを、多くの国民の目に示す。そして彼らはわたしが主であることを悟る。 |
