Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, namely,
of Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. |
ノアの子セム、ハム、ヤペテの系図は次のとおりである。洪水の後、彼らに子が生れた。 |

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal,
and Meshech, and Tiras |
ヤペテの子孫はゴメル、マゴグ、マダイ、ヤワン、トバル、メセク、テラスであった。 |

And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. |
ゴメルの子孫はアシケナズ、リパテ、トガルマ。 |
| 10-4 |
And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. |
ヤワンの子孫はエリシャ、タルシシ、キッテム、ドダニムであった。 |
| 10-5 |
Of these were the isles of the nations divided in their lands,
every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. |
これらから海沿いの地の国民が分れて、おのおのその土地におり、その言語にしたがい、その氏族にしたがって、その国々に住んだ。 |
| 10-6 |
And the sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan. |
ハムの子孫はクシ、ミツライム、プテ、カナンであった。 |
| 10-7 |
And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca;
and the sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan. |
クシの子孫はセバ、ハビラ、サブタ、ラアマ、サブテカであり、ラアマの子孫はシバとデダンであった。 |

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. |
クシの子はニムロデであって、このニムロデは世の権力者となった最初の人である。 |
| 10-9 |
He was a mighty hunter before Jehovah: wherefore it is said, Like Nimrod
a mighty hunter before Jehovah. |
彼は主の前に力ある狩猟者であった。これから「主の前に力ある狩猟者ニムロデのごとし」ということわざが起った。 |
| 10-10 |
And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh,
in the land of Shinar. |
彼の国は最初シナルの地にあるバベル、エレク、アカデ、カルネであった。 |
| 10-11 |
Out of that land he went forth into Assyria, and builded Nineveh, and Rehoboth-Ir,
and Calah, |
彼はその地からアッスリヤに出て、ニネベ、レホボテイリ、カラ、 |
| 10-12 |
and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (the same is the great city). |
およびニネベとカラとの間にある大いなる町レセンを建てた。 |
| 10-13 |
And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, |
ミツライムからルデ族、アナミ族、レハビ族、ナフト族、 |
| 10-14 |
and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (whence went forth the Philistines),
and Caphtorim. |
パテロス族、カスル族、カフトリ族が出た。カフトリ族からペリシテ族が出た。 |
| 10-15 |
And Canaan begat Sidon his first-born, and Heth, |
カナンからその長子シドンが出て、またヘテが出た。 |
| 10-16 |
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite, |
その他エブスびと、アモリびと、ギルガシびと、 |
| 10-17 |
and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, |
ヒビびと、アルキびと、セニびと、 |
| 10-18 |
and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and
afterward were the families of the Canaanite spread abroad. |
アルワデびと、ゼマリびと、ハマテびとが出た。後になってカナンびとの氏族がひろがった。 |
| 10-19 |
And the border of the Canaanite was from Sidon, as thou goest
toward Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and
Zeboiim, unto Lasha. |
カナンびとの境はシドンからゲラルを経てガザに至り、ソドム、ゴモラ、アデマ、ゼボイムを経て、レシャに及んだ。 |

These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their
tongues, in their lands, in their nations. |
これらはハムの子孫であって、その氏族とその言語とにしたがって、その土地と、その国々にいた。 |
| 10-21 |
And unto Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother
of Japheth, to him also were children born. |
セムにも子が生れた。セムはエベルのすべての子孫の先祖であって、ヤペテの兄であった。 |
| 10-22 |
The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram. |
セムの子孫はエラム、アシュル、アルパクサデ、ルデ、アラムであった。 |
| 10-23 |
And the sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. |
アラムの子孫はウヅ、ホル、ゲテル、マシであった。 |
| 10-24 |
And Arpachshad begat Shelah; and Shelah begat Eber. |
アルパクサデの子はシラ、シラの子はエベルである。 |
| 10-25 |
And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg. For in
his days was the earth divided. And his brother’s name was Joktan. |
エベルにふたりの子が生れた。そのひとりの名をペレグといった。これは彼の代に地の民が分れたからである。その弟の名をヨクタンといった。

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, |
ヨクタンにアルモダデ、シャレフ、ハザルマウテ、エラ、 |

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, |
ハドラム、ウザル、デクラ、 |
| 10-28 |
and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, |
オバル、アビマエル、シバ、 |
| 10-29 |
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan. |
オフル、ハビラ、ヨバブが生れた。これらは皆ヨクタンの子であった。 |
| 10-30 |
And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest toward Sephar, the mountain
of the east. |
彼らが住んだ所はメシャから東の山地セパルに及んだ。 |
| 10-31 |
These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their
tongues, in their lands, after their nations. |
これらはセムの子孫であって、その氏族とその言語とにしたがって、その土地と、その国々にいた。 |

These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their
generations, in their nations: and of these were the nations divided in the
earth after the flood. |
これらはノアの子らの氏族であって、血統にしたがって国々に住んでいたが、洪水の後、これらから地上の諸国民が分れたのである。 |
