| 10-1 |
And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to prove him with hard questions. |
シバの女王は主の名にかかわるソロモンの名声を聞いたので、難問をもってソロモンを試みようとたずねてきた。 |

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. |
彼女は多くの従者を連れ、香料と、たくさんの金と宝石とをらくだに負わせてエルサレムにきた。彼女はソロモンのもとにきて、その心にあることをことごとく彼に告げたが、 |

And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hid from the king which he told her not. |
ソロモンはそのすべての問に答えた。王が知らないで彼女に説明のできないことは一つもなかった。 |

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, |
シバの女王はソロモンのもろもろの知恵と、ソロモンが建てた宮殿、 |
| 10-5 |
and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of Jehovah; there was no more spirit in her. |
その食卓の食物と、列座の家来たちと、その侍臣たちの伺候ぶり、彼らの服装と、彼の給仕たち、および彼が主の宮でささげる燔祭を見て、全く気を奪われてしまった。 |

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom. |
彼女は王に言った、「わたしが国であなたの事と、あなたの知恵について聞いたことは真実でありました。 |

Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me; thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard. |
しかしわたしがきて、目に見るまでは、その言葉を信じませんでしたが、今見るとその半分もわたしは知らされていなかったのです。あなたの知恵と繁栄はわたしが聞いたうわさにまさっています。 |

Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom. |
あなたの奥方たちはさいわいです。常にあなたの前に立って、あなたの知恵を聞く家来たちはさいわいです。 |
| 10-9 |
Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because Jehovah loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do justice and righteousness. |
あなたの神、主はほむべきかな。主はあなたを喜び、あなたをイスラエルの位にのぼらせられました。主は永久にイスラエルを愛せられるゆえ、あなたを王として公道と正義とを行わせられるのです」。 |

And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon. |
そして彼女は金百二十タラントおよび多くの香料と宝石とを王に贈った。シバの女王がソロモン王に贈ったような多くの香料は再びこなかった。 |

And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug-trees and precious stones. |
オフルから金を載せてきたヒラムの船は、またオフルからたくさんのびゃくだんの木と宝石とを運んできたので、 |
| 10-12 |
And the king made of the almug-trees pillars for the house of Jehovah, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for the singers: there came no such almug-trees, nor were seen, unto this day. |
王はびゃくだんの木をもって主の宮と王の宮殿のために壁柱を造り、また歌う人々のために琴と立琴とを造った。このようなびゃくだんの木は、かつてきたこともなく、また今日まで見たこともなかった。 |

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants. |
ソロモン王はその豊かなのにしたがってシバの女王に贈り物をしたほかに、彼女の望みにまかせて、すべてその求める物を贈った。そして彼女はその家来たちと共に自分の国へ帰っていった。 |

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, |
さて一年の間にソロモンのところに、はいってきた金の目方は六百六十六タラントであった。 |

besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mingled people, and of the governors of the country. |
そのほかに貿易商および商人の取引、ならびにアラビヤの諸王と国の代官たちからも、はいってきた。 |
| 10-16 |
And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler. |
ソロモン王は延金の大盾二百を造った。その大盾にはおのおの六百シケルの金を用いた。 |
| 10-17 |
And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pounds of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. |
また延金の小盾三百を造った。その小盾にはおのおの三ミナの金を用いた。王はこれらをレバノンの森の家に置いた。 |
| 10-18 |
Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold. |
王はまた大きな象牙の玉座を造り、純金をもってこれをおおった。 |
| 10-19 |
There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays. |
その玉座に六つの段があり、玉座の後に子牛の頭があり、座席の両側にひじ掛けがあって、ひじ掛けのわきに二つのししが立っていた。 |

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. |
また六つの段のおのおのの両側に十二のししが立っていた。このような物はどこの国でも造られたことがなかった。 |
| 10-21 |
And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. |
ソロモン王が飲むときに用いた器は皆金であった。またレバノンの森の家の器も皆純金であって、銀のものはなかった。銀はソロモンの世には顧みられなかった。 |

For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. |
これは王が海にタルシシの船隊を所有して、ヒラムの船隊と一緒に航海させ、タルシシの船隊に三年に一度、金、銀、象牙、さる、くじゃくを載せてこさせたからである。 |

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. |
このようにソロモン王は富も知恵も、地のすべての王にまさっていたので、 |

And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. |
全地の人々は神がソロモンの心に授けられた知恵を聞こうとしてソロモンに謁見を求めた。 |
| 10-25 |
And they brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. |
人々はおのおの贈り物を携えてきた。すなわち銀の器、金の器、衣服、没薬、香料、馬、騾馬など年々定まっていた。 |

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. |
ソロモンは戦車と騎兵とを集めたが、戦車一千四百両、騎兵一万二千あった。ソロモンはこれを戦車の町とエルサレムの王のもとに置いた。 |

And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the lowland, for abundance. |
王はエルサレムで、銀を石のように用い、香柏を平地にあるいちじく桑のように多く用いた。 |
| 10-28 |
And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price. |
ソロモンが馬を輸入したのはエジプトとクエからであった。すなわち王の貿易商はクエから代価を払って受け取ってきた。 |
| 10-29 |
And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means. |
エジプトから輸入される戦車一両は銀六百シケル、馬は百五十シケルであった。このようにして、これらのものが王の貿易商によって、ヘテびとのすべての王たちおよびスリヤの王たちに輸出された。 |
