At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick. |
そのころヤラベアムの子アビヤが病気になったので、 |

And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, who spake concerning me that I should be king over this people. |
ヤラベアムは妻に言った、「立って姿を変え、ヤラベアムの妻であることの知られないようにしてシロへ行きなさい。わたしがこの民の王となることを、わたしに告げた預言者アヒヤがそこにいます。 |
| 14-3 |
And take with thee ten loaves, and cakes, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he will tell thee what shall become of the child. |
パン十個と菓子数個および、みつ一びんを携えて彼のところへ行きなさい。彼はこの子がどうなるかをあなたに告げるでしょう」。 |
| 14-4 |
And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age. |
ヤラベアムの妻はそのようにして、立ってシロへ行き、アヒヤの家に着いたが、アヒヤは年老いたため、目がかすんで見ることができなかった。 |

And Jehovah said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to inquire of thee concerning her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her; for it will be, when she cometh in, that she will feign herself to be another woman. |
しかし主はアヒヤに言われた、「ヤラベアムの妻が子供の事をあなたに尋ねるために来る。子供は病気だ。あなたは彼女にこうこう言わなければならない」。彼女は来るとき、他人を装っていた。 |
| 14-6 |
And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings. |
しかし彼女が戸口にはいってきたとき、アヒヤはその足音を聞いて言った、「ヤラベアムの妻よ、はいりなさい。なぜ、他人を装うのですか。わたしはあなたにきびしい事を告げるよう、命じられています。 |
| 14-7 |
Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel, |
行ってヤラベアムに言いなさい、『イスラエルの神、主はこう仰せられる、「わたしはあなたを民のうちからあげ、わたしの民イスラエルの上に立てて君とし、 |

and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee; and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes, |
国をダビデの家から裂き離して、それをあなたに与えたのに、あなたはわたしのしもべダビデが、わたしの命令を守って一心にわたしに従い、ただわたしの目にかなった事のみを行ったようにではなく、 |

but hast done evil above all that were before thee, and hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back: |
あなたよりも先にいたすべての者にまさって悪をなし、行って自分のために他の神々と鋳た像を造り、わたしを怒らせ、わたしをうしろに捨て去った。 |
| 14-10 |
therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every man-child, him that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweepeth away dung, till it be all gone. |
それゆえ、見よ、わたしはヤラベアムの家に災を下し、ヤラベアムに属する男は、イスラエルについて、つながれた者も、自由な者もことごとく断ち、人があくたを残りなく焼きつくすように、ヤラベアムの家を全く断ち滅ぼすであろう。 |

Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat: for Jehovah hath spoken it. |
ヤラベアムに属する者は、町で死ぬ者を犬が食べ、野で死ぬ者を空の鳥が食べるであろう。主がこれを言われるのである」』。 |
| 14-12 |
Arise thou therefore, get thee to thy house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die. |
あなたは立って、家へ帰りなさい。あなたの足が町にはいる時に、子どもは死にます。 |
| 14-13 |
And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam. |
そしてイスラエルは皆、彼のために悲しんで彼を葬るでしょう。ヤラベアムに属する者は、ただ彼だけ墓に葬られるでしょう。ヤラベアムの家のうちで、彼はイスラエルの神、主にむかって良い思いをいだいていたからです。 |
| 14-14 |
Moreover Jehovah will raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now. |
主はイスラエルの上にひとりの王を起されます。彼はその日ヤラベアムの家を断つでしょう。 |
| 14-15 |
For Jehovah will smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking Jehovah to anger. |
その後主はイスラエルを撃って、水に揺らぐ葦のようにし、イスラエルを、その先祖に賜わったこの良い地から抜き去って、ユフラテ川の向こうに散らされるでしょう。彼らがアシラ像を造って主を怒らせたからです。 |
| 14-16 |
And he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he hath sinned, and wherewith he hath made Israel to sin. |
主はヤラベアムの罪のゆえに、すなわち彼がみずから犯し、またイスラエルに犯させたその罪のゆえにイスラエルを捨てられるでしょう」。 |
| 14-17 |
And Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died. |
ヤラベアムの妻は立って去り、テルザへ行って、家の敷居をまたいだ時、子どもは死んだ。 |
| 14-18 |
And all Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the prophet. |
イスラエルは皆彼を葬り、彼のために悲しんだ。主がそのしもべ預言者アヒヤによって言われた言葉のとおりである。 |
| 14-19 |
And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned,
behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of
Israel. |
ヤラベアムのその他の事績、彼がどのように戦い、どのように世を治めたかは、イスラエルの王の歴代志の書にしるされている。 |
| 14-20 |
And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead. |
ヤラベアムが世を治めた日は二十二年であった。彼はその先祖と共に眠って、その子ナダブが代って王となった。 |
| 14-21 |
And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Jehovah had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. |
ソロモンの子レハベアムはユダで世を治めた。レハベアムは王となったとき四十一歳であったが、主がその名を置くために、イスラエルのすべての部族のうちから選ばれた町エルサレムで、十七年世を治めた。その母の名はナアマといってアンモンびとであった。 |
| 14-22 |
And Judah did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done. |
ユダの人々はその先祖の行ったすべての事にまさって、主の目の前に悪を行い、その犯した罪によって主の怒りを引き起した。 1 |
| 14-23 |
For they also built them high places, and pillars, and Asherim, on every high hill, and under every green tree; |
彼らもすべての高い丘の上と、すべての青木の下に、高き所と石の柱とアシラ像とを建てたからである。 |
| 14-24 |
and there were also sodomites in the land: they did according to all the abominations of the nations which Jehovah drove out before the children of Israel. |
その国にはまた神殿男娼たちがいた。彼らは主がイスラエルの人々の前から追い払われた国民のすべての憎むべき事をならい行った。 |
| 14-25 |
And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem; |
レハベアムの王の第五年にエジプトの王シシャクがエルサレムに攻め上ってきて、 |
| 14-26 |
and he took away the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made. |
主の宮の宝物と、王の宮殿の宝物を奪い去った。彼はそれをことごとく奪い去り、またソロモンの造った金の盾をみな奪い去った。 |
| 14-27 |
And king Rehoboam made in their stead shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house. |
レハベアムはその代りに青銅の盾を造って、王の宮殿の門を守る侍衛長の手にわたした。 |
| 14-28 |
And it was so, that, as oft as the king went into the house of Jehovah, the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard-chamber. |
王が主の宮にはいるごとに、侍衛はそれを携え、また、それを侍衛のへやへ持ち帰った。 |
| 14-29 |
Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
レハベアムのその他の事績と、彼がしたすべての事は、ユダの王の歴代志の書にしるされているではないか。 |
| 14-30 |
And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. |
レハベアムとヤラベアムの間には絶えず戦争があった。 |
| 14-31 |
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead. |
レハベアムはその先祖と共に眠って先祖と共にダビデの町に葬られた。その母の名はナアマといってアンモンびとであった。その子アビヤムが代って王となった。 |
