| 15-1 |
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah. |
ネバテの子ヤラベアム王の第十八年にアビヤムがユダの王となり、 |
| 15-2 |
Three years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. |
エルサレムで三年世を治めた。その母の名はマアカといって、アブサロムの娘であった。 |
| 15-3 |
And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father. |
彼はその父が先に行ったもろもろの罪をおこない、その心は父ダビデの心のようにその神、主に対して全く真実ではなかった。 |
| 15-4 |
Nevertheless for David’s sake did Jehovah his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem; |
それにもかかわらず、その神、主はダビデのために、エルサレムにおいて彼に一つのともしびを与え、その子を彼のあとに立てて、エルサレムを固められた。 |
| 15-5 |
because David did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. |
それはダビデがヘテびとウリヤの事のほか、一生の間、主の目にかなう事を行い、主が命じられたすべての事に、そむかなかったからである。 |

Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life. |
レハベアムとヤラベアムの間には一生の間、戦争があった。 |
| 15-7 |
And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam. |
アビヤムのその他の行為と、彼がしたすべての事は、ユダの王の歴代志の書にしるされているではないか。アビヤムとヤラベアムの間にも戦争があった。 |
| 15-8 |
And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. |
アビヤムはその先祖と共に眠って、ダビデの町に葬られ、その子アサが代って王となった。 |
| 15-9 |
And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Asa to reign over Judah. |
イスラエルの王ヤラベアムの第二十年にアサはユダの王となり、 |
| 15-10 |
And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. |
エルサレムで四十一年世を治めた。その母の名はマアカといってアブサロムの娘であった。 |

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, as did David his father. |
アサはその父ダビデがしたように主の目にかなう事をし、 |
| 15-12 |
And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. |
神殿男娼を国から追い出し、先祖たちの造ったもろもろの偶像を除いた。 |
| 15-13 |
And also Maacah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and burnt it at the brook Kidron. |
彼はまたその母マアカが、アシラのために憎むべき像を造らせたので、彼女を太后の位から退けた。そしてアサはその憎むべき像を切り倒してキデロンの谷で焼き捨てた。 |

But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Jehovah all his days. |
ただし高き所は除かなかった。けれどもアサの心は一生の間、主に対して全く真実であった。 |
| 15-15 |
And he brought into the house of Jehovah the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels. |
彼は父の献納した物と自分の献納した物、金銀および器物を主の宮に携え入れた。 |
| 15-16 |
And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. |
アサとイスラエルの王バアシャの間には一生の間、戦争があった。 |
| 15-17 |
And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any one to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. |
イスラエルの王バアシャはユダに攻め上り、ユダの王アサの所に、だれをも出入りさせないためにラマを築いた。 |
| 15-18 |
Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying, |
そこでアサは主の宮の宝蔵と、王の宮殿の宝蔵に残っている金銀をことごとく取って、これを家来たちの手にわたし、そしてアサ王は彼らをダマスコに住んでいるスリヤの王、ヘジョンの子タブリモンの子であるベネハダデにつかわして言わせた、 |
| 15-19 |
There is a league between me and thee, between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me. |
「わたしの父とあなたの父との間に結ばれていたように、わたしとあなたの間に同盟を結びましょう。わたしはあなたに金銀の贈り物をさしあげます。行って、あなたとイスラエルの王バアシャとの同盟を破棄し、彼をわたしの所から撤退させてください」。 |
| 15-20 |
And Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali. |
ベネハダデはアサ王の言うことを聞き、自分の軍勢の長たちをつかわしてイスラエルの町々を攻め、イヨンとダンとアベル・ベテ・マアカおよびキンネレテの全地と、ナフタリの全地を撃った。 |

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building
Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah. |
バアシャはこれを聞き、ラマを築くことをやめて、テルザにとどまった。 |
| 15-22 |
Then king Asa made a proclamation unto all Judah; none was exempted: and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built therewith Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah. |
そこでアサ王はユダ全国に布告を発した。ひとりも免れる者はなかった。すなわちバアシャがラマを築くために用いた石と材木を運びこさせ、アサ王はそれを用いて、ベニヤミンのゲバとミヅパを築いた。 |
| 15-23 |
Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet. |
アサのその他の事績とそのすべての勲功と、彼がしたすべての事および彼が建てた町々は、ユダの王の歴代志の書にしるされているではないか。彼は老年になって足を病んだ。 |

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead. |
アサはその先祖と共に眠って、父ダビデの町に先祖と共に葬られ、その子ヨシャパテが代って王となった。 |
| 15-25 |
And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years. |
ユダの王アサの第二年にヤラベアムの子ナダブがイスラエルの王となって、二年イスラエルを治めた。 |
| 15-26 |
And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin. |
彼は主の目の前に悪を行い、その父の道に歩み、父がイスラエルに犯させた罪をおこなった。 |
| 15-27 |
And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon. |
イッサカルの家のアヒヤの子バアシャは彼に対してむほんを企て、ペリシテびとに属するギベトンで彼を撃った。これはナダブとイスラエルが皆ギベトンを囲んでいたからである。 |
| 15-28 |
Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead. |
こうしてユダの王アサの第三年にバアシャは彼を殺し、彼に代って王となった。 |
| 15-29 |
And it came to pass that, as soon as he was king, he smote all the house of Jeroboam: he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him; according unto the saying of Jehovah, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite; |
彼は王となるとすぐヤラベアムの全家を撃ち、息のある者をひとりもヤラベアムの家に残さず、ことごとく滅ぼした。主がそのしもべシロびとアヒヤによって言われた言葉のとおりであって、 |

for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and wherewith he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation wherewith he provoked Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger. |
これはヤラベアムがみずから犯し、またイスラエルに犯させた罪のため、また彼がイスラエルの神、主を怒らせたその怒りによるのであった。 |

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. |

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned twenty and four years. |
ユダの王アサの第三年にアヒヤの子バアシャはテルザでイスラエルの全地の王となって、二十四年世を治めた。 |

And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin. |
彼は主の目の前に悪を行い、ヤラベアムの道に歩み、ヤラベアムがイスラエルに犯させた罪をおこなった。 |
