12-1 Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra, シャルテルの子ゼルバベルおよびエシュアと一緒に上ってきた祭司とレビびとは次のとおりである。すなわちセラヤ、エレミヤ、エズラ、
12-2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, アマリヤ、マルク、ハットシ、
12-3 Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, シカニヤ、レホム、メレモテ、
12-4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah, イド、ギンネトイ、アビヤ、
12-5 Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah, ミヤミン、マアデヤ、ビルガ、
12-6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah. シマヤ、ヨヤリブ、エダヤ、
12-7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua. サライ、アモク、ヒルキヤ、エダヤで、これらの者はエシュアの時代に祭司およびその兄弟らのかしらであった。
12-8 Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren. レビびとではエシュア、ビンヌイ、カデミエル、セレビヤ、ユダ、マッタニヤで、マッタニヤはその兄弟らと共に感謝のことをつかさどった。
12-9 Also Bakbukiah and Unno, their brethren, were over against them according to their offices. また彼らの兄弟であるバグブキヤおよびウンノは彼らの向かいに立って勤めをした。
12-10 And Jeshua begat Joiakim, and Joiakim begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada, エシュアの子はヨアキム、ヨアキムの子はエリアシブ、エリアシブの子はヨイアダ、
12-11 and Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua. ヨイアダの子はヨナタン、ヨナタンの子はヤドアである。
12-12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers’ houses : of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah; ヨアキムの時代に祭司で氏族の長であった者はセラヤの氏族ではメラヤ、エレミヤの氏族ではハナニヤ、
12-13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan; エズラの氏族ではメシュラム、アマリヤの氏族ではヨハナン、
12-14 of Malluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph; マルキの氏族ではヨナタン、シバニヤの氏族ではヨセフ、
12-15 of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai; ハリムの氏族ではアデナ、メラヨテの氏族ではヘルカイ、
12-16 of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam; イドの氏族ではゼカリヤ、ギンネトンの氏族ではメシュラム、
12-17 of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai; アビヤの氏族ではジクリ、ミニヤミンの氏族、モアデヤの氏族ではピルタイ、
12-18 of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan; ビルガの氏族ではシャンマ、シマヤの氏族ではヨナタン、
12-19 and of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi; ヨヤリブの氏族ではマッテナイ、エダヤの氏族ではウジ、
12-20 of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber; サライの氏族ではカライ、アモクの氏族ではエベル、
12-21 of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethanel. ヒルキヤの氏族ではハシャビヤ、エダヤの氏族ではネタンエルである。
12-22 As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, there were recorded the heads of fathers’ houses; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian. レビびとについては、エリアシブ、ヨイアダ、ヨハナンおよびヤドアの時代に、その氏族の長たちが登録された。また祭司たちもペルシャ王ダリヨスの治世まで登録された。
12-23 The sons of Levi, heads of fathers’ houses, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib. レビの子孫で氏族の長たる者は、エリアシブの子ヨハナンの世まで歴代志の書にしるされている。
12-24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch next to watch. レビびとのかしらはハシャビヤ、セレビヤおよびカデミエルの子エシュアであって、その兄弟たち相向かい合い、組と組と対応して神の人ダビデの命令に従い、さんびと感謝をささげた。
12-25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the watch at the store-houses of the gates. マツタニヤ、バクブキヤ、オバデヤ、メシュラム、タルモンおよびアックブは門を守る者で門の内の倉を監督した。
12-26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe. これらはヨザダクの子エシュアの子ヨアキムの時代、また総督ネヘミヤおよび学者である祭司エズラの時代にいた人々である。
12-27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. さてエルサレムの城壁の落成式に当って、レビびとを、そのすべての所から招いてエルサレムにこさせ、感謝と、歌と、シンバルと、立琴と、琴とをもって喜んで落成式を行おうとした。
12-28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of the Netophathites; そこで、歌うたう人々はエルサレムの周囲の地方、ネトパびとの村々から集まってきた。
12-29 also from Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem. またベテギルガルおよびゲバとアズマウテの地方からも集まってきた。この歌うたう者たちはエルサレムの周囲に自分の村々を建てていたからである。
12-30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall. そして祭司とレビびとたちは身を清め、また民およびもろもろの門と城壁とを清めた。
12-31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies that gave thanks and went in procession; whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate: そこでわたしはユダのつかさたちを城壁の上にのぼらせ、また感謝する者の二つの大きな組を作って、行進させた。その一つは城壁の上を右に糞の門をさして進んだ。
12-32 and after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah, そのあとに従って進んだ者はホシャヤ、およびユダのつかさたちの半ば、
12-33 and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam, ならびにアザリヤ、エズラ、メシュラム、
12-34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah, ユダ、ベニヤミン、シマヤ、エレミヤであった。
12-35 and certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph; また数人の祭司がラッパをもって従った。すなわちヨナタンの子ゼカリヤ。ヨナタンはシマヤの子、シマヤはマッタニヤの子、マッタニヤはミカヤの子、ミカヤはザックルの子、ザックルはアサフの子である。
12-36 and his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them. またゼカリヤの兄弟たちシマヤ、アザリエル、ミラライ、ギラライ、マアイ、ネタンエル、ユダ、ハナニなどであって、神の人ダビデの楽器を持って従った。そして学者エズラは彼らの先に進んだ。
12-37 And by the fountain gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward. 彼らは泉の門を経て、まっすぐに進み、城壁の上り口で、ダビデの町の階段から上り、ダビデの家の上を過ぎて東の方、水の門に至った。
12-38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, upon the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even unto the broad wall, 他の一組の感謝する者は左に進んだ。わたしは民の半ばと共に彼らのあとに従った。そして城壁の上を行き、炉の望楼の上を過ぎて、城壁の広い所に至り、
12-39 and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard. エフライムの門の上を通り、古い門を過ぎ、魚の門およびハナネルの望楼とハンメアの望楼を過ぎて、羊の門に至り、近衛の門に立ち止まった。
12-40 So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me; こうして二組の感謝する者は神の宮にはいって立った。わたしもそこに立ち、つかさたちの半ばもわたしと共に立った。
12-41 and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets; また祭司エリアキム、マアセヤ、ミニヤミン、ミカヤ、エリオエナイ、ゼカリヤ、ハナニヤらはラッパを持ち、
12-42 and Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer. マアセヤ、シマヤ、エレアザル、ウジ、ヨハナン、マルキヤ、エラムおよびエゼルも共にいた。そして歌うたう者たちは声高く歌った。エズラヒヤはその監督であった。
12-43 And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. こうして彼らはその日、大いなる犠牲をささげて喜んだ。神が彼らを大いに喜び楽しませられたからである。女子供までも喜んだ。それでエルサレムの喜びの声は遠くまで聞えた。
12-44 And on that day were men appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited. その日、倉のもろもろのへやをつかさどる人々を選び、ささげ物、初物、十分の一など律法の定めるところの祭司およびレビびとの分を町々の田畑にしたがって取り集めて、へやに入れることをつかさどらせた。これは祭司およびレビびとの仕えるのを、ユダびとが喜んだからである。
12-45 And they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son. 彼らはダビデおよびその子ソロモンの命令に従って、神の勤めおよび清め事の勤めをした。歌うたう者および門を守る者もそのように行った。
12-46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God. 昔ダビデおよびアサフの日には、歌うたう者のかしらがひとりいて、神にさんびと感謝をささげる事があった。
12-47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required: and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron. またゼルバベルの日およびネヘミヤの日には、イスラエルびとはみな歌うたう者と門を守る者に日々の分を与え、またレビびとに物を聖別して与え、レビびとはまたこれを聖別してアロンの子孫に与えた。
