| 138-1 |
I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee. |
主よ、わたしは心をつくしてあなたに感謝し、もろもろの神の前であなたをほめ歌います。 |
| 138-2 |
I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. |
わたしはあなたの聖なる宮にむかって伏し拝み、あなたのいつくしみと、まこととのゆえに、み名に感謝します。あなたはそのみ名と、み言葉をすべてのものにまさって高くされたからです。 |

In the day that I called thou answeredst me, Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul. |
あなたはわたしが呼ばわった日にわたしに答え、わが魂の力を増し加えられました。 |
| 138-4 |
All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, For they have heard the words of thy mouth. |
主よ、地のすべての王はあなたに感謝するでしょう。彼らはあなたの口のもろもろの言葉を聞いたからです。 |

Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah; For great is the glory of Jehovah. |
彼らは主のもろもろの道について歌うでしょう。主の栄光は大きいからです。 |

For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knoweth from afar. |
主は高くいらせられるが低い者をかえりみられる。しかし高ぶる者を遠くから知られる。 |
| 138-7 |
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And thy right hand will save me. |
たといわたしが悩みのなかを歩いても、あなたはわたしを生かし、み手を伸ばしてわが敵の怒りを防ぎ、あなたの右の手はわたしを救われます。 |

Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endureth for ever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands. |
主はわたしのために、みこころをなしとげられる。主よ、あなたのいつくしみはとこしえに絶えることはありません。あなたのみ手のわざを捨てないでください。 |
