My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. |
わたしの心はうるわしい言葉であふれる。わたしは王についてよんだわたしの詩を語る。わたしの舌はすみやかに物書く人の筆のようだ。 |

Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured into thy lips: Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. |
あなたは人の子らにまさって麗しく、気品がそのくちびるに注がれている。このゆえに神はとこしえにあなたを祝福された。 |

Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, Thy glory and thy majesty. |
ますらおよ、光栄と威厳とをもって、つるぎを腰に帯びよ。 |

And in thy majesty ride on prosperously, Because of truth and meekness and righteousness: And thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. |
真理のため、また正義を守るために威厳をもって、勝利を得て乗り進め。あなたの右の手はあなたに恐るべきわざを教えるであろう。 |

Thine arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under thee; They are in the heart of the king’s enemies. |
あなたの矢は鋭くて、王の敵の胸をつらぬき、もろもろの民はあなたのもとに倒れる。 |

Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom. |
神から賜わったあなたの位は永遠にかぎりなく続き、あなたの王のつえは公平のつえである。 |

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee. With the oil of gladness above thy fellows. |
あなたは義を愛し、悪を憎む。このゆえに神、あなたの神は喜びの油をあなたのともがらにまさって、あなたに注がれた。 |

All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad. |
あなたの衣はみな没薬、芦薈、肉桂で、よいかおりを放っている。琴の音は象牙の殿から出て、あなたを喜ばせる。 |

Kings’ daughters are among thy honorable women: At thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir. |
あなたの愛する女たちのうちには王の娘たちがあり、王妃はオフルの金を飾って、あなたの右に立つ。 |

Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; Forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house: |
娘よ、聞け、かえりみて耳を傾けよ。あなたの民と、あなたの父の家とを忘れよ。 |

So will the king desire thy beauty; For he is thy lord; and reverence thou him. |

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; The rich among the people shall entreat thy favor. |
ツロの民は贈り物をもちきたり、民のうちの富める者もあなたの好意を請い求める。 |

The king’s daughter within the palace is all glorious: Her clothing is inwrought with gold. |
王の娘は殿のうちで栄えをきわめ、こがねを織り込んだ衣を着飾っている。 |

She shall be led unto the king in broidered work: The virgins her companions that follow her Shall be brought unto thee. |
彼女は縫い取りした衣を着て王のもとに導かれ、その供びとなるおとめらは彼女に従ってその行列にある。 |

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be led: They shall enter into the king’s palace. |
彼らは喜びと楽しみとをもって導かれ行き、王の宮殿にはいる。 |

Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, Whom thou shalt make princes in all the earth. |
あなたの子らは父祖に代って立ち、あなたは彼らを全地に君とするであろう。 |

I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: Therefore shall the peoples give thee thanks for ever and ever. |
わたしはあなたの名をよろず代におぼえさせる。このゆえにもろもろの民は世々かぎりなくあなたをほめたたえるであろう。 |
