Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. |
神よ、あなたのいつくしみによって、わたしをあわれみ、あなたの豊かなあわれみによって、わたしのもろもろのとがをぬぐい去ってください。 |

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. |
わたしの不義をことごとく洗い去り、わたしの罪からわたしを清めてください。 |
| 51-3 |
For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me. |
わたしは自分のとがを知っています。わたしの罪はいつもわたしの前にあります。 |
| 51-4 |
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, And done that which is evil in thy sight; That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, And be clear when thou judgest. |
わたしはあなたにむかい、ただあなたに罪を犯し、あなたの前に悪い事を行いました。それゆえ、あなたが宣告をお与えになるときは正しく、あなたが人をさばかれるときは誤りがありません。 |

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. |
見よ、わたしは不義のなかに生れました。わたしの母は罪のうちにわたしをみごもりました。 |
| 51-6 |
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; And in the hidden part thou wilt make me to know wisdom. |
見よ、あなたは真実を心のうちに求められます。それゆえ、わたしの隠れた心に知恵を教えてください。 |

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. |
ヒソプをもって、わたしを清めてください、わたしは清くなるでしょう。わたしを洗ってください、わたしは雪よりも白くなるでしょう。 |

Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. |
わたしに喜びと楽しみとを満たし、あなたが砕いた骨を喜ばせてください。 |

Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. |
み顔をわたしの罪から隠し、わたしの不義をことごとくぬぐい去ってください。 |

Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. |
神よ、わたしのために清い心をつくり、わたしのうちに新しい、正しい霊を与えてください。 |

Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy Spirit from me. |
わたしをみ前から捨てないでください。わたしのうちに新しい、正しい霊を与えてください。 |

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit. |
あなたの救の喜びをわたしに返し、自由の霊をもって、わたしをささえてください。 |

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee. |
そうすればわたしは、とがを犯した者にあなたの道を教え、罪びとはあなたに帰ってくるでしょう。 |

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation; And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. |
神よ、わが救の神よ、血を流した罪からわたしを助け出してください。わたしの舌は声高らかにあなたの義を歌うでしょう。 |

O Lord, open thou my lips; And my mouth shall show forth thy praise. |
主よ、わたしのくちびるを開いてください。わたしの口はあなたの誉をあらわすでしょう。 |

For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering. |
あなたはいけにえを好まれません。たといわたしが燔祭をささげてもあなたは喜ばれないでしょう。 |
| 51-17 |
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. |
神の受けられるいけにえは砕けた魂です。神よ、あなたは砕けた悔いた心をかろしめられません。 |

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem. |
あなたのみこころにしたがってシオンに恵みを施し、エルサレムの城壁を築きなおしてください。 |

Then will thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, In burnt-offering and in whole burnt-offering: Then will they offer bullocks upon thine altar. |
その時あなたは義のいけにえと燔祭と、全き燔祭とを喜ばれるでしょう。その時あなたの祭壇に雄牛がささげられるでしょう。 |
