| 14-1 |
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house. |
ツロの王ヒラムはダビデに使者をつかわし、彼のために家を建てさせようと香柏および石工と木工を送った。 |

And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel’s sake. |
ダビデは主が自分を堅く立ててイスラエルの王とされたことと、その民イスラエルのために彼の国を大いに興されたことを悟った。 |
| 14-3 |
And David took more wives at Jerusalem; and David begat more sons and daughters. |
ダビデはエルサレムでまた妻たちをめとった。そしてダビデにまたむすこ、娘が生れた。 |

And these are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua,
and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon, |
彼がエルサレムで得た子たちの名は次のとおりである。すなわちシャンマ、ショバブ、、ナタン、ソロモン、 |

and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet, |
イブハル、エリシュア、エルペレテ、 |

and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, |
ノガ、ネペグ、ヤピア、 |
| 14-7 |
and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet. |
エリシャマ、ベエリアダ、エリペレテである。 |

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them. |
さてペリシテびとはダビデが油を注がれて全イスラエルの王になったことを聞いたので、ペリシテびとはみな上ってきてダビデを捜した。ダビデはこれを聞いてこれに当ろうと出ていったが、 |

Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim. |
ペリシテびとはすでに来て、レパイムの谷を侵した。 |
| 14-10 |
And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thy hand. |
ダビデは神に問うて言った、「ペリシテびとに向かって上るべきでしょうか。あなたは彼らをわたしの手にわたされるでしょうか」。主はダビデに言われた、「上りなさい。わたしは彼らをあなたの手にわたそう」。 |

So they came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and David said, God hath broken mine enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim. |
そこで彼はバアル・ペラジムへ上っていった。その所でダビデは彼らを打ち敗り、そして言った、「神は破り出る水のように、わたしの手で敵を破られた」。それゆえ、その所の名はバアル・ペラジムと呼ばれている。 |

And they left their gods there; and David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire. |
彼らが自分たちの神をそこに残して退いたので、ダビデは命じてこれを火で焼かせた。 |

And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley. |
ペリシテびとは再び谷を侵した。 |
| 14-14 |
And David inquired again of God; and God said unto him, Thou shalt not go up after them: turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees. |
ダビデが再び神に問うたので神は言われた、「あなたは彼らを追って上ってはならない。遠回りしてバルサムの木の前から彼らを襲いなさい。 |
| 14-15 |
And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God is gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines. |
バルサムの木の上に行進の音が聞えたならば、あなたは行って戦いなさい。神があなたの前に出てペリシテびとの軍勢を撃たれるからです」。 |
| 14-16 |
And David did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer. |
ダビデは神が命じられたようにして、ペリシテびとの軍勢を撃ち破り、ギベオンからゲゼルに及んだ。 |
| 14-17 |
And the fame of David went out into all lands; and Jehovah brought the fear of him upon all nations. |
そこでダビデの名はすべての国々に聞えわたり、主はすべての国びとに彼を恐れさせられた。 |
