And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines. |

And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute. |
彼はまたモアブを撃った。モアブびとはダビデのしもべとなって、みつぎを納めた。 |
| 18-3 |
And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates. |
ダビデはまた、ハマテのゾバの王ハダデゼルがユフラテ川のほとりに、その記念碑を建てようとして行ったとき彼を撃った。 |
| 18-4 |
And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots. |
そしてダビデは彼から戦車一千、騎兵七千人、歩兵二万人を取った。ダビデは一百の戦車の馬を残して、そのほかの戦車の馬はみなその足の筋を切った。 |

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. |
その時ダマスコのスリヤびとがゾバの王ハダデゼルを助けるために来たので、ダビデはそのスリヤびと二万二千人を殺した。 |

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went. |
そしてダビデはダマスコのスリヤに守備隊を置いた。スリヤびとはみつぎを納めてダビデのしもべとなった。主はダビデにすべてその行く所で勝利を与えられた。 |
| 18-7 |
And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. |
ダビデはハダデゼルのしもべらが持っていた金の盾を奪って、エルサレムに持ってきた。 |
| 18-8 |
And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass. |
またハダデゼルの町テブハテとクンからダビデは非常に多くの青銅を取った。ソロモンはそれを用いて青銅の海、柱および青銅の器を造った。 |

And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah, |
時にハマテの王トイはダビデがゾバの王ハダデゼルのすべての軍勢を撃ち破ったことを聞き、 |
| 18-10 |
he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. |
その子ハドラムをダビデ王につかわして、彼にあいさつさせ、かつ祝を述べさせた。ハダデゼルはかつてしばしばトイと戦いを交えたが、ダビデはハダデゼルと戦って、これを撃ち破ったからである。ハドラムは金、銀および青銅のさまざまの器を贈ったので、 |

These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. |
ダビデ王はこれをエドム、モアブ、アンモンの人々、ペリシテびと、アマクレなどの諸国民のうちから取ってきた金銀とともに、主にささげた。 |
| 18-12 |
Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand. |
ゼルヤの子アビシャイは塩の谷で、エドムびと一万八千を撃ち殺した。 |
| 18-13 |
And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went. |
ダビデはエドムに守備隊を置き、エドムびとは皆ダビデのしもべとなった。主はダビデにすべてその行く所で勝利を与えられた。 |
| 18-14 |
And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness unto all his people. |
こうしてダビデはイスラエルの全地を治め、そのすべての民に公道と正義を行った。 |

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; |
ゼルヤの子ヨアブは軍の長、アヒルデの子ヨシャパテは史官、 |
| 18-16 |
and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe; |
アヒトブの子ザドクとアビヤタルの子アビメレクは祭司、シャウシャは書記官、 |
| 18-17 |
and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king. |
エホヤダの子ベナヤはケレテびととペレテびとの長、ダビデの子たちは王のかたわらにはべる大臣であった。 |
