24-1 And the courses of the sons of Aaron were these. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. アロンの子孫の組は次のとおりである。すなわちアロンの子らはナダブ、アビウ、エレアザル、イタマル。
24-2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office. ナダブとアビウはその父に先だって死に、子がなかったので、エレアザルとイタマルが祭司となった。
24-3 And David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service. ダビデはエレアザルの子孫ザドクとイタマルの子孫アヒメレクの助けによって彼らを分けて、それぞれの勤めにつけた。
24-4 And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight. エレアザルの子孫のうちにはイタマルの子孫のうちよりも長たる人々が多かった。それでエレアザルの子孫で氏族の長である十六人と、イタマルの子孫で氏族の長である者八人にこれを分けた。
24-5 Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. このように彼らは皆ひとしく、くじによって分けられた。聖所のつかさ、および神のつかさは、ともにエレアザルの子孫とイタマルの子孫から出たからである。
24-6 And Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar. レビびとネタネルの子である書記シマヤは、王とつかさたちと祭司ザドクとアビヤタルの子アヒメレクと祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、これを書きしるした。すなわちエレアザルのために氏族一つを取れば、イタマルのためにも一つを取った。
24-7 Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, 第一のくじはヨアリブに当り、第二はエダヤに当り、
24-8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, 第三はハリムに、第四はセオリムに、
24-9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin, 第五はマルキヤに、第六はミヤミンに、
24-10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, 第七はハッコヅに、第八はアビヤに、
24-11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah, 第九はエシュアに、第十はシカニヤに、
24-12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim, 第十一はエリアシブに、第十二はヤキムに、
24-13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab, 第十三はホッパに、第十四はエシバブに、
24-14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer, 第十五はビルガに、第十六はインメルに、
24-15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez, 第十七はヘジルに、第十八はハピセツに、
24-16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel, 第十九はペタヒヤに、第二十はエゼキエルに、
24-17 the one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul, 第二十一はヤキンに、第二十二はガムルに、
24-18 the three and twentieth to Delaiah, the four and twentieth to Maaziah. 第二十三はデラヤに、第二十四はマアジヤに当った。
24-19 This was the ordering of them in their service, to come into the house of Jehovah according to the ordinance given unto them by Aaron their father, as Jehovah, the God of Israel, had commanded him. これは、彼らの先祖アロンによって設けられた定めにしたがい、主の家にはいって務をなす順序であって、イスラエルの神、主の彼に命じられたとおりである。
24-20 And of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah. このほかのレビの子孫は次のとおりである。すなわちアムラムの子らのうちではシュバエル。シュバエルの子らのうちではエデヤ。
24-21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief. レハビヤについては、レハビヤの子らのうちでは長子イシア。
24-22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath. イヅハリびとのうちではシロミテ。シロミテの子らのうちではヤハテ。
24-23 And the sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth. ヘブロンの子らは長子はエリヤ、次はアマリヤ、第三はヤハジエル、第四はエカメアム。
24-24 The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir. ウジエルの子らのうちではミカ。ミカの子らのうちではシャミル。
24-25 The brother of Micah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah. ミカの兄弟はイシア。イシアの子らのうちではゼカリヤ。
24-26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah: Beno. メラリの子らはマヘリとムシ。ヤジアの子らはベノ。
24-27 The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah, Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri. メラリの子孫のヤジアから出た者はベノ、ショハム、ザックル、イブリ。
24-28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons. マヘリからエレアザルが出た。彼には子がなかった。
24-29 Of Kish; the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel. キシについては、キシの子はエラメル。
24-30 And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses. ムシの子らはマヘリ、エデル、エリモテ。これらはレビびとの子孫で、その氏族によっていった者である。
24-31 These likewise cast lots even as their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the priests and of the Levites; the fathers’ houses of the chief even as those of his younger brother. これらの者もまた氏族の兄もその弟も同様に、ダビデ王と、ザドクと、アヒメレクと、祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、アロンの子孫であるその兄弟たちのようにくじを引いた。
