So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their transgression. |
このようにすべてのイスラエルびとは系図によって数えられた。これらはイスラエルの列王紀にしるされている。ユダはその不信のゆえにバビロンに捕囚となった。 |

Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim. |
その領地の町々に最初に住んだものはイスラエルびと、祭司、レビびとおよび宮に仕えるしもべたちであった。 |
| 9-3 |
And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh: |
またエルサレムにはユダの子孫、ベニヤミンの子孫およびエフライムとマナセの子孫が住んでいた。 |
| 9-4 |
Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah. |
すなわちユダの子ペレヅの子孫のうちではアミホデの子ウタイ。アミホデはオムリの子、オムリはイムリの子、イムリはバニの子である。 |

And of the Shilonites: Asaiah the first-born, and his sons. |
シロびとのうちでは長子アサヤとそのほかの子たち。 |

And of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety. |
ゼラの子孫のうちではユエルとその兄弟六百九十人。 |
| 9-7 |
And of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah, |
ベニヤミンの子孫のうちではハセヌアの子ホダビヤの子であるメシュラムの子サル、 |
| 9-8 |
and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah; |
エロハムの子イブニヤ、ミクリの子であるウジの子エラおよびイブニヤの子リウエルの子であるシパテヤの子メシュラム、 |

and their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were heads of fathers’ houses by their fathers’ houses. |
ならびに彼らの兄弟たちで、その系図によれば合わせて九百五十六人。これらの人々は皆その氏族の長であった。 |

And of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, Jachin, |

and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God; |
およびヒルキヤの子アザリヤ、ヒルキヤはメシュラムの子、メシュラムはザドクの子、ザドクはメラヨテの子、メラヨテはアヒトブの子である。アザリヤは神の宮のつかさである。 |

and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer; |
またエロハムの子アダヤ、エロハムはパシュルの子、パシュルはマルキヤの子である。またアデエルの子はマアセヤ、アデエルはヤゼラの子、ヤゼラはメシュラムの子、メシュラムはメシレモテの子、メシレモテはインメルの子である。 |

and their brethren, heads of their fathers’ houses, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God. |
そのほかに彼らの兄弟たちもあった。これらはその氏族の長で、合わせて一千七百六十人、みな神の宮の務をするのに、はなはだ力のある人々であった。 |

And of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari; |
レビびとのうちではハシュブの子シマヤ、ハシュブはアズリカムの子、アズリカムはハシャビヤの子で、これらはメラリの子孫である。 |

and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph, |
またバクバッカル、ヘレシ、ガラル、およびアサフの子ジクリの子であるミカの子マッタニヤ、 |
| 9-16 |
and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites. |
ならびにエドトンの子ガラルの子であるシマヤの子オバデヤおよびエルカナの子であるアサの子ベレキヤ、エルカナはネトパびとの村里に住んだ者である。 |

And the porters: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren (Shallum was the chief), |
門を守るものはシャルム、アックブ、タルモン、アヒマンおよびその兄弟たちで、シャルムはその長であった。 |
| 9-18 |
who hitherto waited in the king’s gate eastward: they were the porters for the camp of the children of Levi. |
彼は今日まで東の方にある王の門を守っている。これらはレビの子孫で営の門を守る者である。 |
| 9-19 |
And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent: and their fathers had been over the camp of Jehovah, keepers of the entry. |
コラの子エビヤサフの子であるコレの子シャルムおよびその氏族の兄弟たちなどのコラびとは幕屋のもろもろの門を守る務をつかさどった。その先祖たちは主の営をつかさどり、その入口を守る者であった。 |

And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and Jehovah was with him. |
エレアザルの子ピネハスが、むかし彼らのつかさであった。主は彼とともにおられた。 |

Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tent of meeting. |
メシレミヤの子ゼカリヤは会見の幕屋の門を守る者であった。 |
| 9-22 |
All these that were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their office of trust. |
これらは皆選ばれて門を守る者で、合わせて二百十二人あった。彼らはその村々で系図によって数えられた者で、ダビデと先見者サムエルが彼らを職に任じたのである。 |

So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Jehovah, even the house of the tent, by wards. |
こうして彼らとその子孫は監守人として、主の家である幕屋の家の門をつかさどった。 |

On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south. |
門を守る者は東西南北の四方にいた。 |
| 9-25 |
And their brethren, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them: |
またその村々にいる兄弟たちは七日ごとに代り、来て彼らを助けた。 |
| 9-26 |
for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God. |
門を守る者の長である四人のレビびとは神の家のもろもろの室と宝とをつかさどった。 |
| 9-27 |
And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge thereof was upon them; and to them pertained the opening thereof morning by morning. |
彼らは神の家を守る身であるから、そのまわりに宿った。そして朝ごとにこれを開くことをした。 |
| 9-28 |
And certain of them had charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out. |
そのうちに務の器をつかさどる者があった。彼らはその数を調べて携え入り、またその数を調べて携え出した。 |

Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices. |
またそのほかの品、すべての聖なる器および麦粉、ぶどう酒、油、乳香、香料をつかさどる者があった。 |

And some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices. |
また祭司のともがらのうちに香料を混ぜる者があった。 |
| 9-31 |
And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the first-born of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans. |
コラびとシャルムの長子でレビびとのひとりであるマタテヤはせんべいを造る勤めをつかさどった。 |
| 9-32 |
And some of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the showbread, to prepare it every sabbath. |
またコハテびとの子孫であるその兄弟たちのうちに供えのパンをつかさどって、安息日ごとにこれを整える者どもがあった。 |
| 9-33 |
And these are the singers, heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites, who dwelt in the chambers and were free from other service; for they were employed in their work day and night. |
レビびとの氏族の長であるこれらの者は歌うたう者であって、宮のもろもろの室に住み、ほかの務はしなかった。彼らは日夜自分の務に従ったからである。 |

These were heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these dwelt at Jerusalem. |
これらはレビびとの歴代の氏族の長であって、かしらたる人々であった。彼らはエルサレムに住んだ。 |
| 9-35 |
And in Gibeon there dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife’s name was Maacah: |
ギベオンの父エヒエルはギベオンに住んでいた。その妻の名はマアカといった。 |

and his first-born son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab, |
彼の長子はアブドン、次はツル、キシ、バアル、ネル、ナダブ、 |

and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth. |
ゲドル、アヒオ、ゼカリヤ、ミクロテである。 |
| 9-38 |
And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren in Jerusalem, over against their brethren. |
ミクロテはシメアムを生んだ。彼らもその兄弟たちとともにエルサレムに住んで、その兄弟たちと向かいあっていた。 |
| 9-39 |
And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal. |
ネルはキシを生み、キシはサウルを生み、サウルはヨナタン、マルキシュア、アビナダブ、エシバアルを生んだ。 |

And the son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal begat Micah. |
ヨナタンの子はメリバアルで、メリバアルはミカを生んだ。 |
| 9-41 |
And the sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz . |
ミカの子らはピトン、メレク、タレアおよびアハズである。 |
| 9-42 |
And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza; |
アハズはヤラを生み、ヤラはアレメテ、アズマウテおよびジムリを生み、ジムリはモザを生み、 |
| 9-43 |
and Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son. |
モザはビネアを生んだ。ビネアの子はレパヤ、その子はエレアサ、その子はアゼルである。 |
| 9-44 |
And Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel. |
アゼルに六人の男の子があった。その名はアズリカム、ボケル、イシマエル、シャリヤ、オバデヤ、ハナン。これらはみなアゼルの子らであった。 |
