| 19-1 |
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. |
ユダの王ヨシャパテは、つつがなくエルサレムの自分の家に帰った。 |
| 19-2 |
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the wicked, and love them that hate Jehovah? for this thing wrath is upon thee from before Jehovah. |
そのとき、先見者ハナニの子エヒウが出てヨシャパテを迎えて言った、「あなたは悪人を助け、主を憎む者を愛してよいのですか。それゆえ怒りが主の前から出て、あなたの上に臨みます。 |
| 19-3 |
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast put away the Asheroth out of the land, and hast set thy heart to seek God. |
しかしあなたには、なお良い事もあります。あなたはアシラ像を国の中から除き、心を傾けて神を求められました」。 |
| 19-4 |
And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill-country of Ephraim, and brought them back unto Jehovah, the God of their fathers. |
ヨシャパテはエルサレムに住んでいたが、また出て、ベエルシバからエフライムの山地まで民の中を巡り、先祖たちの神、主に彼らを導き返した。 |

And he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, |
彼はまたユダの国中、すべての堅固な町ごとに裁判人を置いた。 |
| 19-6 |
and said to the judges, Consider what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for Jehovah; and he is with you in the judgment. |
そして裁判人たちに言った、「あなたがたは自分のする事に気をつけなさい。あなたがたは人のために裁判するのではなく、主のためにするのです。あなたがたが裁判する時には、主はあなたがたと共におられます。 |
| 19-7 |
Now therefore let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes. |
だからあなたがたは主を恐れ、慎んで行いなさい。われわれの神、主には不義がなく、人をかたより見ることなく、まいないを取ることもないからです」。 |
| 19-8 |
Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites and the priests, and of the heads of the fathers’ houses of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah, and for controversies. And they returned to Jerusalem. |
ヨシャパテはまたレビびと、祭司、およびイスラエルの氏族の長たちを選んでエルサレムに置き、主のために裁判を行い、争議の解決に当らせた。彼らはエルサレムに居住した。 |
| 19-9 |
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of Jehovah, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. |
ヨシャパテは彼らに命じて言った、「あなたがたは主を恐れ、真実と真心とをもって行わなければならない。 |
| 19-10 |
And whensoever any controversy shall come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall warn them, that they be not guilty towards Jehovah, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not be guilty. |
すべてその町々に住んでいるあなたがたの兄弟たちから、血を流した事または律法と戒め、定めとおきてなどの事について訴えてきたならば、彼らをさとして、主の前に罪を犯させず、怒りがあなたがたと、あなたがたの兄弟たちに臨まないようにしなさい。そのようにすれば、あなたがたは罪を犯すことがないでしょう。 |
| 19-11 |
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Jehovah; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and Jehovah be with the good. |
見よ、祭司長アマリヤは、あなたがたの上にいて、主の事をすべてつかさどり、イシマエルの子、ユダの家のつかさゼバデヤは王の事をすべてつかさどり、またレビびとはあなたがたの前にあって役人となります。雄々しく行動しなさい。主は正直な人と共におられます」。 |
