33-1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. マナセは十二歳で王となり、五十五年の間エルサレムで世を治めた。
33-2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom Jehovah cast out before the children of Israel. 彼は主がイスラエルの人々の前から追い払われた国々の民の憎むべき行いに見ならって、主の目の前に悪を行った。
33-3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baalim, and made Asheroth, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. すなわち、その父ヒゼキヤがこわした高き所を再び築き、またもろもろのバアルのために祭壇を設け、アシラ像を造り、天の万象を拝んで、これに仕え、
33-4 And he built altars in the house of Jehovah, whereof Jehovah said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever. また主が「わが名は永遠にエルサレムにある」と言われた主の宮のうちに数個の祭壇を築き、
33-5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of Jehovah. 主の宮の二つの庭に天の万象のために祭壇を築いた。
33-6 He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practised augury, and used enchantments, and practised sorcery, and dealt with them that had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger. 彼はまたベンヒンノムの谷でその子供を火に焼いて供え物とし、占いをし、魔法をつかい、まじないを行い、口寄せと、占い師を任用するなど、主の前に多くの悪を行って、その怒りをひき起した。
33-7 And he set the graven image of the idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever: 彼はまた刻んだ偶像を造って神の宮に安置した。神はこの宮についてダビデとその子ソロモンに言われたことがある、「わたしはこの宮と、わたしがイスラエルのすべての部族のうちから選んだエルサレムとに、わたしの名を永遠に置く。
33-8 neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances given by Moses. 彼らがもし、わたしがすべて命じた事、すなわち、モーセが伝えたすべての律法と定めとおきてとを慎んで行うならば、わたしがあなたがたの先祖のために定めた地から、重ねてイスラエルの足を移すことをしない」と。
33-9 And Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom Jehovah destroyed before the children of Israel. マナセはこのようにユダとエルサレムの住民を迷わせ、主がイスラエルの人々の前に滅ぼされた国々の民にもまさって悪を行わせた。
33-10 And Jehovah spake to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed. 主はマナセおよびその民に告げられたが、彼らは心に留めなかった。
33-11 Wherefore Jehovah brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon. それゆえ、主はアッスリヤの王の軍勢の諸将をこれに攻めこさせられたので、彼らはマナセをかぎで捕え、青銅のかせにつないで、バビロンに引いて行った。
33-12 And when he was in distress, he besought Jehovah his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. 彼は悩みにあうに及んで、その神、主に願い求め、その先祖の神の前に大いに身を低くして、
33-13 And he prayed unto him; and he was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Jehovah he was God. 神に祈ったので、神はその祈を受けいれ、その願いを聞き、彼をエルサレムに連れ帰って、再び国に臨ませられた。これによってマナセは主こそ、まことに神にいますことを知った。
33-14 Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed Ophel about with it, and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah. この後、彼はダビデの町の外の石がきをギホンの西の方の谷のうちに築き、魚の門の入口にまで及ぼし、またオペルに石がきをめぐらして、非常に高くこれを築き上げ、ユダのすべての堅固な町に軍長を置き、
33-15 And he took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of Jehovah, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Jehovah, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city. また主の宮から、異邦の神々および偶像を取り除き、主の宮の山とエルサレムに自分で築いたすべての祭壇を取り除いて、町の外に投げ捨て、
33-16 And he built up the altar of Jehovah, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace-offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve Jehovah, the God of Israel. 主の祭壇を築き直して、酬恩祭および感謝の犠牲を、その上にささげ、ユダに命じてイスラエルの神、主に仕えさせた。
33-17 Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only unto Jehovah their God. しかし民は、なお高き所で犠牲をささげた。ただしその神、主にのみささげた。
33-18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel. マナセのそのほかの行為、その神にささげた祈、およびイスラエルの神、主の名をもって彼に告げた先見者たちの言葉は、イスラエルの列王の記録のうちにしるされている。
33-19 His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the graven images, before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai. またその祈と、祈の聞かれた事、そのもろもろの罪と、とが、その身を低くする前に高き所を築いて、アシラ像および刻んだ像を立てた場所などは、先見者の記録のうちにしるされている。
33-20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead. マナセはその先祖たちと共に眠ったので、その家に葬られた。その子アモンが彼に代って王となった。
33-21 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. アモンは王となった時二十二歳で、二年の間エルサレムで世を治めた。
33-22 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed unto all the graven images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them. 彼はその父マナセのしたように主の前に悪を行った。すなわちアモンはその父マナセが造ったもろもろの刻んだ像に犠牲をささげて、これに仕え、
33-23 And he humbled not himself before Jehovah, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more. その父マナセが身を低くしたように主の前に身を低くしなかった。かえってこのアモンは、いよいよそのとがを増した。
33-24 And his servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house. その家来たちは党を結んで彼にそむき、彼をその家で殺した。
33-25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead. しかし国の民は、党を結んでアモン王にそむいた者どもをことごとく撃ち殺した。そして国の民はその子ヨシヤを王となして、そのあとを継がせた。
