| 7-1 |
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house. |
ソロモンが祈り終ったとき、天から火が下って燔祭と犠牲を焼き、主の栄光が宮に満ちた。 |

And the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah filled Jehovah’s house. |
主の栄光が主の宮に満ちたので、祭司たちは主の宮に、はいることができなかった。 |

And all the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of Jehovah was upon the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and gave thanks unto Jehovah, saying, For he is good; for his lovingkindness endureth for ever. |
イスラエルの人々はみな火が下ったのを見、また主の栄光が宮に臨んだのを見て、敷石の上で地にひれ伏して拝し、主に感謝して言った、「主は恵みふかく、そのいつくしみはとこしえに絶えることがない」。 |

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before Jehovah. |
そして王と民は皆主の前に犠牲をささげた。 |
| 7-5 |
And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. |
ソロモン王のささげた犠牲は、牛二万二千頭、羊十二万頭であった。こうして王と民は皆神の宮をささげた。 |

And the priests stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of Jehovah, which David the king had made to give thanks unto Jehovah, (for his lovingkindness endureth for ever,) when David praised by their ministry: and the priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood. |
祭司はその持ち場に立ち、レビびとも主の楽器をとって立った。その楽器はダビデ王が主に感謝するために造ったもので、ダビデが彼らの手によってさんびをささげるとき、「そのいつくしみは、とこしえに絶えることがない」ととなえさせたものである。祭司は彼らの前でラッパを吹き、すべてのイスラエルびとは立っていた。 |

Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat. |
ソロモンはまた主の宮の前にある庭の中を聖別し、その所で、燔祭と酬恩祭のあぶらをささげた。これはソロモンが造った青銅の祭壇が、その燔祭と素祭とあぶらとを載せるに足りなかったからである。 |

So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt. |
その時ソロモンは七日の間祭を行った。ハマテの入口からエジプトの川に至るまでのすべてのイスラエルびとが彼と共にあり、非常に大きな会衆であった。 |

And on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days. |
そして八日目に聖会を開いた。彼らは七日の間、祭壇奉献の礼を行い、七日の間祭を行ったが、 |

And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Jehovah had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people. |
七月二十三日に至ってソロモンは民をその天幕に帰らせた。皆主がダビデ、ソロモンおよびその民イスラエルに施された恵みのために喜び、かつ心に楽しんで去った。 |

Thus Solomon finished the house of Jehovah, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of Jehovah, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. |
こうしてソロモンは主の家と王の家とを造り終えた。すなわち彼は主の家と自分の家について、しようと計画したすべての事を首尾よくなし遂げた。 |
| 7-12 |
And Jehovah appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice. |
時に主は夜ソロモンに現れて言われた、「わたしはあなたの祈を聞き、この所をわたしのために選んで、犠牲をささげる家とした。 |
| 7-13 |
If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; |
わたしが天を閉じて雨をなくし、またはわたしがいなごに命じて地の物を食わせ、または疫病を民の中に送るとき、 |
| 7-14 |
if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. |
わたしの名をもってとなえられるわたしの民が、もしへりくだり、祈って、わたしの顔を求め、その悪い道を離れるならば、わたしは天から聞いて、その罪をゆるし、その地をいやす。 |
| 7-15 |
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent, unto the prayer that is made in this place. |
今この所にささげられる祈にわたしの目を開き、耳を傾ける。 |
| 7-16 |
For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually. |
今わたしはわたしの名をながくここにとどめるために、この宮を選び、かつ聖別した。わたしの目とわたしの心は常にここにある。 |
| 7-17 |
And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances; |
あなたがもし父ダビデの歩んだようにわたしの前に歩み、わたしが命じたとおりにすべて行って、わたしの定めとおきてとを守るならば、 |
| 7-18 |
then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel. |
わたしはあなたの父ダビデに契約して『イスラエルを治める人はあなたに欠けることがない』と言ったとおりに、あなたの王の位を堅くする。 |
| 7-19 |
But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; |
しかし、あなたがたがもし翻って、わたしがあなたがたの前に置いた定めと戒めとを捨て、行って他の神々に仕え、それを拝むならば、 |
| 7-20 |
then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. |
わたしはあなたがたをわたしの与えた地から抜き去り、またわたしの名のために聖別したこの宮をわたしの前から投げ捨てて、もろもろの民のうちにことわざとし、笑い草とする。 |
| 7-21 |
And this house, which is so high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why hath Jehovah done thus unto this land, and to this house? |
またこの宮は高いけれども、ついには、そのかたわらを過ぎる者は皆驚いて、『何ゆえ主はこの地と、この宮とにこのようにされたのか』と言うであろう。 |
| 7-22 |
And they shall answer, Because they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them. |
その時、人々は答えて『彼らはその先祖たちをエジプトの地から導き出した彼らの神、主を捨てて、他の神々につき従い、それを拝み、それに仕えたために、主はこのすべての災を彼らの上に下したのである』と言うであろう」。 |
