| 9-1 |
And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. |
シバの女王はソロモンの名声を聞いたので、難問をもってソロモンを試みようと、非常に多くの従者を連れ、香料と非常にたくさんの金と宝石とをらくだに負わせて、エルサレムのソロモンのもとに来て、その心にあることをことごとく彼に告げた。 |

And Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hid from Solomon which he told her not. |
ソロモンは彼女のすべての問に答えた。ソロモンが知らないで彼女に説明のできないことは一つもなかった。 |

And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, |
シバの女王はソロモンの知恵と、彼が建てた家を見、 |

and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, his cupbearers also, and their apparel, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of Jehovah; there was no more spirit in her. |
またその食卓の食物と、列座の家来たちと、その侍臣たちの伺候振りと彼らの服装、および彼の給仕たちとその服装、ならびに彼が主の宮でささげる燔祭を見て、全く気を奪われてしまった。 |

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom. |
彼女は王に言った、「わたしが国であなたの事と、あなたの知恵について聞いたうわさは真実でした。 |
| 9-6 |
Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it; and, behold, the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: thou exceedest the fame that I heard. |
しかしわたしは来て目に見るまでは、そのうわさを信じませんでしたが、今見ると、あなたの知恵の大いなることはその半分もわたしに知らされませんでした。あなたはわたしの聞いたうわさにまさっています。 |
| 9-7 |
Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom. |
あなたの奥方たちはさいわいです。常にあなたの前に立って、あなたの知恵を聞くこのあなたの家来たちはさいわいです。 |
| 9-8 |
Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on his throne, to be king for Jehovah thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do justice and righteousness. |
あなたの神、主はほむべきかな。主はあなたを喜び、あなたをその位につかせ、あなたの神、主のために王とされました。あなたの神はイスラエルを愛して、とこしえにこれを堅くするために、あなたをその王とされ、公道と正義を行われるのです」。 |

And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon. |
そして彼女は金百二十タラント、および非常に多くの香料と宝石とを王に贈った。シバの女王がソロモンに贈ったような香料は、いまだかつてなかった。 |

And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, that brought gold from Ophir, brought algum-trees and precious stones. |
オフルから金を携えて来たヒラムのしもべたちとソロモンのしもべたちはまた、びゃくだんの木と宝石をも携えて来た。 |
| 9-11 |
And the king made of the algum-trees terraces for the house of Jehovah, and for the king’s house, and harps and psalteries for the singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah. |
王はそのびゃくだんの木で、主の宮と王の家とに階段を造り、また歌うたう者のために琴と立琴を造った。このようなものはかつてユダの地で見たことがなかった。 |

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants. |
ソロモン王は、シバの女王が贈った物に報いたほかに、彼女の望みにまかせて、すべてその求めるものを贈った。そして彼女はその家来たちと共に自分の国へ帰って行った。 |
| 9-13 |
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold, |
さて一年の間にソロモンの所にはいって来た金の目方は六百六十六タラントであった。 |
| 9-14 |
besides that which the traders and merchants brought: and all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon. |
このほかに貿易商および商人の携えて来たものがあった。またアラビヤのすべての王たちおよび国の代官たちも金銀をソロモンに携えてきた。 |
| 9-15 |
And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one buckler. |
ソロモン王は延金の大盾二百を造った。その大盾にはおのおの六百シケルの延金を用いた。 |
| 9-16 |
And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. |
また延金の小盾三百を造った。小盾にはおのおの三百シケルの金を用いた。王はこれらをレバノンの森の家に置いた。 |
| 9-17 |
Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold. |
王はまた大きな象牙の玉座を造り、純金でこれをおおった。 |
| 9-18 |
nd there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays. |
その玉座には六つの段があり、また金の足台があって共に玉座につらなり、その座する所の両方に、ひじかけがあって、ひじかけのわきに二つのししが立っていた。 |

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. |
また十二のししが六つの段のおのおのの両側に立っていた。このような物はどこの国でも造られたことがなかった。 |
| 9-20 |
And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. |
ソロモン王が飲むときに用いた器はみな金であった。またレバノンの森の家の器もみな純金であって、銀はソロモンの世には尊ばれなかった。 |
| 9-21 |
For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. |
これは王の船がヒラムのしもべたちを乗せてタルシシへ行き、三年ごとに一度、そのタルシシの船が金、銀、象牙、さる、くじゃくを載せて来たからである。 |

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. |
このようにソロモン王は富と知恵において、地のすべての王にまさっていたので、 |
| 9-23 |
And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. |
地のすべての王は神がソロモンの心に授けられた知恵を聞こうとしてソロモンに謁見を求めた。 |
| 9-24 |
And they brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. |
人々はおのおの贈り物を携えてきた。すなわち銀の器、金の器、衣服、没薬、香料、馬、騾馬など年々定まっていた。 |

And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. |
ソロモンは馬と戦車のために馬屋四千と騎兵一万二千を持ち、これを戦車の町に置き、またエルサレムの王のもとに置いた。 |

And he ruled over all the kings from the River even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt. |
彼はユフラテ川からペリシテびとの地と、エジプトの境に至るまでのすべての王を治めた。 |
| 9-27 |
And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the lowland, for abundance. |
王はまた銀を石のようにエルサレムに多くし、香柏を平野のいちじく桑のように多くした。 |
| 9-28 |
And they brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt, and out of all lands. |
また人々はエジプトおよび諸国から馬をソロモンのために輸入した。 |
| 9-29 |
Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? |
ソロモンのそのほかの始終の行為は、預言者ナタンの書と、シロびとアヒヤの預言と、先見者イドがネバテの子ヤラベアムについて述べた黙示のなかに、しるされているではないか。 |

And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. |
ソロモンはエルサレムで四十年の間イスラエルの全地を治めた。 |
| 9-31 |
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead. |
ソロモンはその先祖たちと共に眠って、父ダビデの町に葬られ、その子レハベアムが代って王となった。 |
