10-1 At that time Jehovah said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood. その時、主はわたしに言われた、『おまえは、前のような石の板二枚を切って作り、山に登って、わたしのもとにきなさい。また木の箱一つを作りなさい。
10-2 And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark. さきにおまえが砕いた二枚の板に書いてあった言葉を、わたしはその板に書きしるそう。おまえはそれをその箱におさめなければならない』。
10-3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in my hand. そこでわたしはアカシヤ材の箱一つを作り、また前のような石の板二枚を切って作り、その二枚の板を手に持って山に登った。 1
10-4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Jehovah spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Jehovah gave them unto me. 主はかつて、かの集会の日に山で火の中からあなたがたに告げられた十誡を書きしるされたように、その板に書きしるし、それを主はわたしに授けられた。
10-5 And I turned and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Jehovah commanded me. それでわたしは身をめぐらして山から降り、その板を、わたしが作った箱におさめた。今なおその中にある。主がわたしに命じられたとおりである。
10-6 (And the children of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his stead. （こうしてイスラエルの人々はベエロテ・ベネ・ヤカンを出立してモセラに着いた。アロンはその所で死んでそこに葬られ、その子エレアザルが彼に代って祭司となった。
10-7 From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water. またそこを出立してグデゴダに至り、グデゴダを出立してヨテバタに着いた。この地には多くの水の流れがあった。
10-8 At that time Jehovah set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day. その時、主はレビの部族を選んで、主の契約の箱をかつぎ、主の前に立って仕え、また主の名をもって祝福することをさせられた。この事は今日に及んでいる。
10-9 Wherefore Levi hath no portion nor inheritance with his brethren; Jehovah is his inheritance, according as Jehovah thy God spake unto him.) そのためレビは兄弟たちと一緒には分け前がなく、嗣業もない。あなたの神、主が彼に言われたとおり、主みずからが彼の嗣業であった。）
10-10 And I stayed in the mount, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights: and Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also; Jehovah would not destroy thee. わたしは前の時のように四十日四十夜、山におったが、主はその時にもわたしの願いを聞かれた。主はあなたを滅ぼすことを望まれなかった。
10-11 And Jehovah said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them. そして主はわたしに『おまえは立ちあがり、民に先立って進み行き、わたしが彼らに与えると、その先祖に誓った地に彼らをはいらせ、それを取らせよ』と言われた。
10-12 And now, Israel, what doth Jehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, イスラエルよ、今、あなたの神、主があなたに求められる事はなんであるか。ただこれだけである。すなわちあなたの神、主を恐れ、そのすべての道に歩んで、彼を愛し、心をつくし、精神をつくしてあなたの神、主に仕え、
10-13 to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? また、わたしがきょうあなたに命じる主の命令と定めとを守って、さいわいを得ることである。
10-14 Behold, unto Jehovah thy God belongeth heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is therein. 見よ、天と、もろもろの天の天、および地と、地にあるものとはみな、あなたの神、主のものである。
10-15 Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day. そうであるのに、主はただあなたの先祖たちを喜び愛し、その後の子孫であるあなたがたを万民のうちから選ばれた。今日見るとおりである。
10-16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. それゆえ、あなたがたは心に割礼をおこない、もはや強情であってはならない。
10-17 For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward. あなたがたの神である主は、神の神、主の主、大いにして力ある恐るべき神にましまし、人をかたより見ず、また、まいないを取らず、
10-18 He doth execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loveth the sojourner, in giving him food and raiment. みなし子とやもめのために正しいさばきを行い、また寄留の他国人を愛して、食物と着物を与えられるからである。
10-19 Love ye therefore the sojourner; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt. それゆえ、あなたがたは寄留の他国人を愛しなさい。あなたがたもエジプトの国で寄留の他国人であった。
10-20 Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; him shalt thou serve; and to him shalt thou cleave, and by his name shalt thou swear. あなたの神、主を恐れ、彼に仕え、彼に従い、その名をさして誓わなければならない。
10-21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. 彼はあなたのさんびすべきもの、またあなたの神であって、あなたが目に見たこれらの大いなる恐るべき事を、あなたのために行われた。
10-22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now Jehovah thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude. あなたの先祖たちは、わずか七十人でエジプトに下ったが、いま、あなたの神、主はあなたを天の星のように多くされた。
