| 11-1 |
Therefore thou shalt love Jehovah thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, alway. |
それゆえ、あなたの神、主を愛し、常にそのさとしと、定めと、おきてと、戒めとを守らなければならない。 |
| 11-2 |
And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children that have not known, and that have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm, |
あなたがたは、きょう、次のことを知らなければならない。わたしが語るのは、あなたがたの子供たちに対してではない。彼らはあなたがたの神、主の訓練と、主の大いなる事と、その強い手と、伸べた腕とを知らず、また見なかった。 |
| 11-3 |
and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land; |
また彼らは主がエジプトで、エジプト王パロとその全国に対して行われたしるしと、わざ、 |
| 11-4 |
and what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how Jehovah hath destroyed them unto this day; |
また主がエジプトの軍勢とその馬と戦車とに行われた事、すなわち彼らがあなたがたのあとを追ってきた時に、紅海の水を彼らの上にあふれさせ、彼らを滅ぼされて、今日に至った事、 |
| 11-5 |
and what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came unto this place; |
またあなたがたがこの所に来るまで、主が荒野で、あなたがたに行われた事、 |
| 11-6 |
and what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel: |
およびルベンの子のエリアブの子、ダタンとアビラムとにされた事、すなわちイスラエルのすべての人々の中で、地が口を開き、彼らと、その家族と、天幕と、彼らに従うすべてのものを、のみつくした事などを彼らは知らず、また見なかった。 |
| 11-7 |
but your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovah which he did. |
しかし、あなたがたは主が行われたこれらの大いなる事を、ことごとく目に見たのである。 |
| 11-8 |
Therefore shall ye keep all the commandment which I command thee this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go over to possess it; |
ゆえに、わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じる戒めを、ことごとく守らなければならない。そうすればあなたがたは強くなり、渡って行って取ろうとする地にはいって、それを取ることができ、 |
| 11-9 |
and that ye may prolong your days in the land, which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey. |
かつ、主が先祖たちに誓って彼らとその子孫とに与えようと言われた地、乳と蜜の流れる国において、長く生きることができるであろう。 |
| 11-10 |
For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs; |
あなたがたが行って取ろうとする地は、あなたがたが出てきたエジプトの地のようではない。あそこでは、青物畑でするように、あなたがたは種をまき、足でそれに水を注いだ。 |
| 11-11 |
but the land, whither ye go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven, |
しかし、あなたがたが渡って行って取る地は、山と谷の多い地で、天から降る雨で潤っている。 |
| 11-12 |
a land which Jehovah thy God careth for: the eyes of Jehovah thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. |
その地は、あなたの神、主が顧みられる所で、年の始めから年の終りまで、あなたの神、主の目が常にその上にある。 |
| 11-13 |
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, |
もし、きょう、あなたがたに命じるわたしの命令によく聞き従って、あなたがたの神、主を愛し、心をつくし、精神をつくして仕えるならば、 |
| 11-14 |
that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy grain, and thy new wine, and thine oil. |
主はあなたがたの地に雨を、秋の雨、春の雨ともに、時にしたがって降らせ、穀物と、ぶどう酒と、油を取り入れさせ、 |
| 11-15 |
And I will give grass in thy fields for thy cattle, and thou shalt eat and be full. |
また家畜のために野に草を生えさせられるであろう。あなたは飽きるほど食べることができるであろう。 |
| 11-16 |
Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; |
あなたがたは心が迷い、離れ去って、他の神々に仕え、それを拝むことのないよう、慎まなければならない。 |
| 11-17 |
and the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, so that there shall be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah giveth you. |
おそらく主はあなたがたにむかい怒りを発して、天を閉ざされるであろう。そのため雨は降らず、地は産物を出さず、あなたがたは主が賜わる良い地から、すみやかに滅びうせるであろう。 |
| 11-18 |
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and ye shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. |
それゆえ、これらのわたしの言葉を心と魂におさめ、またそれを手につけて、しるしとし、目の間に置いて覚えとし、 |
| 11-19 |
And ye shall teach them your children, talking of them, when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. |
これを子供たちに教え、家に座している時も、道を歩く時も、寝る時も、起きる時も、それについて語り、 |
| 11-20 |
And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates; |
また家の入口の柱と、門にそれを書きしるさなければならない。 |
| 11-21 |
that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. |
そうすれば、主が先祖たちに与えようと誓われた地に、あなたがたの住む日数およびあなたがたの子供たちの住む日数は、天が地をおおう日数のように多いであろう。 |
| 11-22 |
For if ye shall diligently keep all this commandment which I command you, to do it, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; |
もしわたしがあなたがたに命じるこのすべての命令をよく守って行い、あなたがたの神、主を愛し、そのすべての道に歩み、主につき従うならば、 |
| 11-23 |
then will Jehovah drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves. |
主はこの国々の民を皆、あなたがたの前から追い払われ、あなたがたはあなたがたよりも大きく、かつ強い国々を取るに至るであろう。 |
| 11-24 |
Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall be your border. |
あなたがたが足の裏で踏む所は皆、あなたがたのものとなり、あなたがたの領域は荒野からレバノンに及び、また大川ユフラテから西の海に及ぶであろう。 |
| 11-25 |
There shall no man be able to stand before you: Jehovah your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath spoken unto you. |
だれもあなたがたに立ち向かうことのできる者はないであろう。あなたがたの神、主は、かつて言われたように、あなたがたの踏み入る地の人々が、あなたがたを恐れおののくようにされるであろう。 |
| 11-26 |
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: |
見よ、わたしは、きょう、あなたがたの前に祝福と、のろいとを置く。 |
| 11-27 |
the blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you this day; |
もし、きょう、わたしがあなたがたに命じるあなたがたの神、主の命令に聞き従うならば、祝福を受けるであろう。 |
| 11-28 |
and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. |
もしあなたがたの神、主の命令に聞き従わず、わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに命じる道を離れ、あなたがたの知らなかった他の神々に従うならば、のろいを受けるであろう。 |
| 11-29 |
And it shall come to pass, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt set the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. |
あなたの神、主が、あなたの行って占領する地にあなたを導き入れられる時、あなたはゲリジム山に祝福を置き、エバル山にのろいを置かなければならない。 |
| 11-30 |
Are they not beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites that dwell in the Arabah, over against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh? |
これらの山はヨルダンの向こう側、アラバに住んでいるカナンびとの地で、日の入る方の道の西側にあり、ギルガルに向かいあって、モレのテレビンの木の近くにあるではないか。 |
| 11-31 |
For ye are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein. |
あなたがたはヨルダンを渡り、あなたがたの神、主が賜わる地にはいって、それを占領しようとしている。あなたがたはそれを占領して、そこに住むであろう。 |
| 11-32 |
And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this day. |
それゆえ、わたしが、きょう、あなたがたに授ける定めと、おきてをことごとく守って行わなければならない。 |
