Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, unto battle at Edrei. |
そしてわれわれは身をめぐらして、バシャンの道を上って行ったが、バシャンの王オグは、われわれを迎え撃とうとして、その民をことごとく率い、出てきてエデレイで戦った。 |

And Jehovah said unto me, Fear him not; for I have delivered him, and all
his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as
thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon. |
時に主はわたしに言われた、『彼を恐れてはならない。わたしは彼と、そのすべての民と、その地をおまえの手に渡している。おまえはヘシボンに住んでいたアモリびとの王シホンにしたように、彼にするであろう』。 |

So Jehovah our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. |
こうしてわれわれの神、主はバシャンの王オグと、そのすべての民を、われわれの手に渡されたので、われわれはこれを撃ち殺して、ひとりをも残さなかった。 |

And we took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we took not from them; threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
その時、われわれは彼の町々を、ことごとく取った。われわれが取らなかった町は一つもなかった。取った町は六十。アルゴブの全地方であって、バシャンにおけるオグの国である。 |

All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many. |
これらは皆、高い石がきがあり、門があり、貫の木のある堅固な町であった。このほかに石がきのない町は、非常に多かった。 |
| 3-6 |
And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. |
われわれはヘシボンの王シホンにしたように、これらを全く滅ぼし、そのすべての町の男、女および子供をことごとく滅ぼした。 |
| 3-7 |
But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey unto ourselves. |
ただし、そのすべての家畜と、その町々からのぶんどり物とは、われわれが獲て自分の物とした。 |
| 3-8 |
And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon unto mount Hermon; |
その時われわれはヨルダンの向こう側にいるアモリびとのふたりの王の手から、アルノン川からヘルモン山までの地を取った。 |

( which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir); |

all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
すなわち高原のすべての町、ギレアデの全地、バシャンの全地、サルカおよびエデレイまで、バシャンにあるオグの国の町々をことごとく取った。 |

(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.) |
（バシャンの王オグはレパイムのただひとりの生存者であった。彼の寝台は鉄の寝台であった。これは今なおアンモンびとのラバにあるではないか。これは普通のキュビト尺で、長さ九キュビト、幅四キュビトである。） |

And this land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill-country of Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites: |
その時われわれは、この地を獲た。そしてわたしはアルノン川のほとりのアロエルから始まる地と、ギレアデの山地の半ばと、その町々とは、ルベンびとと、ガドびととに与えた。 |

and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim. |
わたしはまたギレアデの残りの地と、オグの国であったバシャンの全地とは、マナセの半部族に与えた。すなわちアルゴブの全地方である。（そのバシャンの全地はレパイムの国と唱えられる。 |

Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth-jair, unto this day.) |
マナセの子ヤイルは、アルゴブの全地方を取って、ゲシュルびとと、マアカびとの境にまで達し、自分の名にしたがって、バシャンをハボテ・ヤイルと名づけた。この名は今日にまでおよんでいる。） |

And I gave Gilead unto Machir. |
またわたしはマキルにはギレアデを与えた。 |
| 3-16 |
And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and the border thereof, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; |
ルベンびとと、ガドびととには、ギレアデからアルノン川までを与え、その川のまん中をもって境とし、またアンモンびとの境であるヤボク川にまで達せしめた。 |

the Arabah also, and the Jordan and the border thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward. |
またヨルダンを境として、キンネレテからアラバの海すなわち塩の海まで、アラバをこれに与えて、東の方ピスガのふもとに達せしめた。 |

And I commanded you at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all the men of valor. |
その時わたしはあなたがたに命じて言った、『あなたがたの神、主はこの地をあなたがたに与えて、これを獲させられるから、あなたがた勇士はみな武装して、兄弟であるイスラエルの人々に先立って、渡って行かなければならない。 |
| 3-19 |
But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you, |
ただし、あなたがたの妻と、子供と、家畜とは、わたしが与えた町々にとどまらなければならない。（わたしはあなたがたが多くの家畜を持っているのを知っている。） |

until Jehovah give rest unto your brethren, as unto you, and they also possess the land which Jehovah your God giveth them beyond the Jordan: then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you. |
主がすでにあなたがたに与えられたように、あなたがたの兄弟にも安息を与えられて、彼らもまたヨルダンの向こう側で、あなたがたの神、主が与えられる地を獲るようになったならば、あなたがたはおのおのわたしがあなたがたに与えた領地に帰ることができる』。 |

And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall Jehovah do unto all the kingdoms whither thou goest over. |
その時わたしはヨシュアに命じて言った、『あなたの目はあなたがたの神、主がこのふたりの王に行われたすべてのことを見た。主はまたあなたが渡って行くもろもろの国にも、同じように行われるであろう。 |
| 3-22 |
Ye shall not fear them; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you. |
彼らを恐れてはならない。あなたがたの神、主があなたがたのために戦われるからである』。 |
| 3-23 |
And I besought Jehovah at that time, saying, |
その時わたしは主に願って言った、 |
| 3-24 |
O Lord Jehovah, thou hast begun to show thy servant thy greatness, and thy strong hand: for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy mighty acts? |
『主なる神よ、あなたの大いなる事と、あなたの強い手とを、たった今、しもべに示し始められました。天にも地にも、あなたのようなわざをなし、あなたのような力あるわざのできる神が、ほかにありましょうか。 |
| 3-25 |
Let me go over, I pray thee, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. |
どうぞ、わたしにヨルダンを渡って行かせ、その向こう側の良い地、あの良い山地、およびレバノンを見ることのできるようにしてください』。 |
| 3-26 |
But Jehovah was wroth with me for your sakes, and hearkened not unto me; and Jehovah said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter. |
しかし主はあなたがたのゆえにわたしを怒り、わたしに聞かれなかった。そして主はわたしに言われた、『おまえはもはや足りている。この事については、重ねてわたしに言ってはならない。 |
| 3-27 |
Get thee up unto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan. |
おまえはピスガの頂に登り、目をあげて西、北、南、東を望み見よ。おまえはこのヨルダンを渡ることができないからである。 |
| 3-28 |
But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see. |
しかし、おまえはヨシュアに命じ、彼を励まし、彼を強くせよ。彼はこの民に先立って渡って行き、彼らにおまえの見る地を継がせるであろう』。 |

So we abode in the valley over against Beth-peor. |
こうしてわれわれはベテペオルに対する谷にとどまっていた。 |
