11-1	Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days.	あなたのパンを水の上に投げよ、多くの日の後、あなたはそれを得るからである。
11-2	Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.	あなたは一つの分を七つまた八つに分けよ、あなたは、どんな災が地に起るかを知らないからだ。
11-3	If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be.	雲がもし雨で満ちるならば、地にそれを注ぐ、また木がもし南か北に倒れるならば、その木は倒れた所に横たわる。
11-4	He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.	風を警戒する者は種をまかない、雲を観測する者は刈ることをしない。
11-5	As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all.	あなたは、身ごもった女の胎の中で、どうして霊が骨にはいるかを知らない。そのようにあなたは、すべての事をなされる神のわざを知らない。
11-6	In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.	朝のうちに種をまけ、夕まで手を休めてはならない。実るのは、これであるか、あれであるか、あるいは二つともに良いのであるか、あなたは知らないからである。
11-7	Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.	光は快いものである。目に太陽を見るのは楽しいことである。
11-8	Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.	人が多くの年、生きながらえ、そのすべてにおいて自分を楽しませても、暗い日の多くあるべきことを忘れてはならない。すべて、きたらんとする事は皆空である。
11-9	Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.	若い者よ、あなたの若い時に楽しめ。あなたの若い日にあなたの心を喜ばせよ。あなたの心の道に歩み、あなたの目の見るところに歩め。ただし、そのすべての事のために、神はあなたをさばかれることを知れ。
11-10	Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.	あなたの心から悩みを去り、あなたのからだから痛みを除け。若い時と盛んな時はともに空だからである。
