Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from Selah to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion. |

For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon. |
モアブの娘らはアルノンの渡しで、さまよう鳥のように、巣を追われたひなのようである。 |
| 16-3 |
Give counsel, execute justice; make thy shade as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; betray not the fugitive. |
「相はかって、事を定めよ。真昼の中でも、あなたの陰を夜のようにし、さすらい人を隠し、のがれて来た者をわたさず、 |
| 16-4 |
Let mine outcasts dwell with thee; as for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nought, destruction ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. |
モアブのさすらい人を、あなたのうちにやどらせ、彼らの避け所となって、滅ぼす者からのがれさせよ。しえたげる者がなくなり、滅ぼす者が絶え、踏みにじる者が地から断たれたとき、 |

And a throne shall be established in lovingkindness; and one shall sit thereon in truth, in the tent of David, judging, and seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness. |
一つの玉座がいつくしみによって堅く立てられ、ダビデの幕屋にあって、さばきをなし、公平を求め、正義を行うに、すみやかなる者が真実をもってその上に座する」。 |

We have heard of the pride of Moab, that he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought. |
われわれはモアブの高ぶりのことを聞いた、その高ぶることは、はなはだしい。われわれはその誇と、高ぶりと、そのおごりとのことを聞いた、その自慢は偽りである。 |

Therefore shall Moab wail for Moab, every one shall wail: for the raisin-cakes of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn, utterly stricken. |
それゆえ、モアブは泣き叫べ、民はみなモアブのために泣き叫べ。全く撃ちのめされて、キルハレセテの干ぶどうのために嘆け。 |

For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have broken down the choice branches thereof, which reached even unto Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness; its shoots were spread abroad, they passed over the sea. |
ヘシボンの畑と、シブマのぶどうの木とは、しぼみ衰えた。国々のもろもろの主が、その枝を打ち落したからである。その枝はさきにはヤゼルまでいたり、荒野にまではびこり、そのつるは広がって海を越えた。 |

Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah; I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the battle shout is fallen. |
それゆえ、わたしはヤゼルと共に、シブマのぶどうの木のために泣く。ヘシボンよ、エレアレよ、わたしは涙をもってあなたを浸す。ときの声が、あなたの果実と、あなたの収穫の上にふりかかってきたからである。 |

And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither joyful noise: no treader shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the vintage shout to cease. |
喜びと楽しみとは土肥えた畑から取り去られ、ぶどう畑には歌うことなく、喜び呼ばわることなく、酒ぶねを踏んで酒を絞る者なく、ぶどうの収穫を喜ぶ声はやんだ。 |

Wherefore my heart soundeth like a harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-heres. |
それゆえ、わが魂はモアブのために、わが心はキルハレスのために、琴のように鳴りひびく。 |

And it shall come to pass, when Moab presenteth himself, when he wearieth himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail. |
モアブが高き所に出て、おのれを疲れさせ、またその聖所にきて祈っても、効果はない。 |

This is the word that Jehovah spake concerning Moab in time past. |
これは主がさきにモアブについて語られたみ言葉である。 |
| 16-14 |
But now Jehovah hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account. |
しかし今、主は語って言われる、「モアブの栄えはその大いなる群衆にもかかわらず、雇人の年期とひとしく三年のうちに、はずかしめを受け、残れる者はまことに少なく、力がない」。 |
