Woe to the rebellious children, saith Jehovah, that take counsel, but not of me; and that make a league, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin, |
主は言われる、「そむける子らはわざわいだ、彼らは計りごとを行うけれども、わたしによってではない。彼らは同盟を結ぶけれども、わが霊によってではない、罪に罪を加えるためだ。 |

that set out to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt! |
彼らはわが言葉を求めず、エジプトへ下っていって、パロの保護にたより、エジプトの陰に隠れようとする。 |
| 30-3 |
Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. |
それゆえ、パロの保護はかえってあなたがたの恥となり、エジプトの陰に隠れることはあなたがたのはずかしめとなる。 |
| 30-4 |
For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors are come to Hanes. |
たとい、彼の君たちがゾアンにあり、彼の使者たちがハネスに来ても、 |
| 30-5 |
They shall all be ashamed because of a people that cannot profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach. |
彼らは皆おのれを益することのできない民により、すなわち助けとならず、益とならず、かえって恥となり、はずかしめとなる民によって、恥をかくからである」。 |
| 30-6 |
The burden of the beasts of the South.Through the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the humps of camels, to a people that shall not profit them. |
ネゲブの獣についての託宣。彼らはその富を若いろばの背に負わせ、その宝をらくだの背に負わせて、雌じし、雄じし、まむしおよび飛びかけるへびの出る悩みと苦しみの国を通って、おのれを益することのできない民に行く。 |

For Egypt helpeth in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I called her Rahab that sitteth still. |
そのエジプトの助けは無益であって、むなしい。それゆえ、わたしはこれを「休んでいるラハブ」と呼んだ。 |
| 30-8 |
Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever. |
いま行って、これを彼らの前で札にしるし、書物に載せ、後の世に伝えて、とこしえにあかしとせよ。 |
| 30-9 |
For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah; |
彼らはそむける民、偽りを言う子ら、主の教を聞こうとしない子らだ。 |
| 30-10 |
that say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits, |
彼らは先見者にむかって「見るな」と言い、預言者にむかっては「正しい事をわれわれに預言するな、耳に聞きよいことを語れ、迷わしごとを預言せよ。 |

get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. |
大路を去り、小路をはなれ、イスラエルの聖者について語り聞かすな」と言う。 |
| 30-12 |
Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely thereon; |
それゆえ、イスラエルの聖者はこう言われる、「あなたがたはこの言葉を侮り、しえたげと、よこしまとを頼み、これにたよるがゆえに、 |

therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly in an instant. |
この不義はあなたがたには突き出て、くずれ落ちようとする高い石がきの破れのようであって、その倒壊はにわかに、またたくまに来る。 |
| 30-14 |
And he shall break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing; so that there shall not be found among the pieces thereof a sherd wherewith to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern. |
その破れることは陶器師の器を破るように惜しむことなく打ち砕き、その砕けのなかには、炉から火を取り、池から水をくめるほどの、ひとかけらさえ見いだされない」。 |

For thus said the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. And ye would not: |
主なる神、イスラエルの聖者はこう言われた、「あなたがたは立ち返って、落ち着いているならば救われ、しかし、あなたがたはこの事を好まなかった。 |

but ye said, No, for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift. 17 One thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on a hill. |
かえって、あなたがたは言った、「否、われわれは馬に乗って、とんで行こう」と。それゆえ、あなたがたはとんで帰る。また言った、「われらは速い馬に乗ろう」と。それゆえ、あなたがたを追う者は速い。 |
| 30-17 |
One thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on a hill. |
ひとりの威嚇によって千人は逃げ、五人の威嚇によってあなたがたは逃げて、その残る者はわずかに山の頂にある旗ざおのように、丘の上にある旗のようになる。 |
| 30-18 |
And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him. |
それゆえ、主は待っていて、あなたがたに恵を施される。それゆえ、主は立ちあがって、あなたがたをあわれまれる。主は公平の神でいらせられる。すべて主を待ち望む者はさいわいである。 |
| 30-19 |
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; thou shalt weep no more; he will surely be gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear, he will answer thee. |
シオンにおり、エルサレムに住む民よ、あなたはもはや泣くことはない。主はあなたの呼ばわる声に応じて、必ずあなたに恵みを施される。主がそれを聞かれるとき、直ちに答えられる。 |

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be hidden anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers; |
たとい主はあなたがたに悩みのパンと苦しみの水を与えられても、あなたの師は再び隠れることはなく、あなたの目はあなたの師を見る。 |
| 30-21 |
and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it; when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. |
また、あなたが右に行き、あるいは左に行く時、そのうしろで「これは道だ、これに歩め」と言う言葉を耳に聞く。 |
| 30-22 |
And ye shall defile the overlaying of thy graven images of silver, and the plating of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as an unclean thing; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence. |
その時、あなたがたはしろがねをおおった刻んだ像と、こがねを張った鋳た像とを汚し、これをきたない物のようにまき散らして、これに「去れ」と言う。 |

And he will give the rain for thy seed, wherewith thou shalt sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground, and it shall be fat and plenteous. In that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures; |
主はあなたが地にまく種に雨を与え、地の産物なる穀物をくださる。それはおびただしく、かつ豊かである。その日あなたの家畜は広い牧場で草を食べ、 |

the oxen likewise and the young asses that till the ground shall eat savory provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork. |
地を耕す牛と、ろばは、シャベルと、くまででより分けて塩を加えた飼料を食べる。 |
| 30-25 |
And there shall be upon every lofty mountain, and upon every high hill, brooks and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. |
大いなる虐殺の日、やぐらの倒れる時、すべてのそびえたつ山と、すべての高い丘に水の流れる川がある。 |
| 30-26 |
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah bindeth up the hurt of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound. |
さらに主がその民の傷を包み、その打たれた傷をいやされる日には、月の光は日の光のようになり、日の光は七倍となり、七つの日の光のようにになる。 |

Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire; |
見よ、主の名は遠い所から燃える怒りと、立ちあがる濃い煙をもって来る。そのくちびるは憤りで満ち、その舌は焼きつくす火のごとく、 |

and his breath is as an overflowing stream, that reacheth even unto the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction: and a bridle that causeth to err shall be in the jaws of the peoples. |
その息はあふれて首にまで達する流れのようであって、滅びのふるいをもってもろもろの国をふるい、また惑わす手綱をもろもろの民のあごにつけるために来る。 |

Ye shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come unto the mountain of Jehovah, to the Rock of Israel. |
あなたがたは、聖なる祭を守る夜のように歌をうたう。また笛をならして主の山にきたり、イスラエルの岩なる主にまみえる時のように心に喜ぶ。 |
| 30-30 |
And Jehovah will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, and tempest, and hailstones. |
主はその威厳ある声を聞かせ、激しい怒りと、焼きつくす火の炎と、豪雨と、暴風と、ひょうとをもってその腕の下ることを示される。 |

For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be dismayed; with his rod will he smite him. |
主がそのむちをもって打たれる時、アッスリヤの人々は主の声によって恐れおののく。 |
| 30-32 |
And every stroke of the appointed staff, which Jehovah shall lay upon him, shall be with the sound of tabrets and harps; and in battles with the brandishing of his arm will he fight with them. |
主が懲しめのつえを彼らの上に加えられるごとに鼓を鳴らし、琴をひく。主は腕を振りかざして、彼らと戦われる。 |
| 30-33 |
For a Topheth is prepared of old; yea, for the king it is made ready; he hath made it deep and large; the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it. |
焼き場はすでに設けられた。しかも王のために深く広く備えられ、火と多くのたきぎが積まれてある。主の息はこれを硫黄の流れのように燃やす。 |
