Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in justice. |
見よ、ひとりの王が正義をもって統べ治め、君たちは公平をもってつかさどり |
| 32-2 |
And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land. |
おのおの風をさける所、暴風雨をのがれる所のようになり、かわいた所にある水の流れのように、疲れた地にある大きな岩の陰のようになる。 |

And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. |
こうして、見る者の目は開かれ、聞く者の耳はよく聞き、 |
| 32-4 |
And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. |
気短な者の心は悟る知識を得、どもりの舌はたやすく、あざやかに語ることができる。 |
| 32-5 |
The fool shall be no more called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful. |
愚かな者は、もはや尊い人と呼ばれることなく、悪人はもはや、りっぱな人と言われることはない。 |
| 32-6 |
For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. |
それは愚かな者は愚かなことを語り、その心は不義をたくらみ、よこしまを行い、主について誤ったことを語り、飢えた者の望みを満たさず、かわいた者の飲み物を奪い取るからである。 |
| 32-7 |
And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. |
悪人の行いは悪い。彼は悪い計りごとをめぐらし、偽りの言葉をもって貧しい者をおとしいれ、乏しい者が正しいことを語っても、なお、これをおとしいれる。 |

But the noble deviseth noble things; and in noble things shall he continue. |
しかし尊い人は尊いことを語り、つねに尊いことを行う。 |
| 32-9 |
Rise up, ye women that are at ease, and hear my voice; ye careless daughters, give ear unto my speech. |
安んじている女たちよ、起きて、わが声を聞け。思い煩いなき娘たちよ、わが言葉に耳を傾けよ。 |
| 32-10 |
For days beyond a year shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come. |
思い煩いなき女たちよ、一年あまりの日をすぎて、あなたがたは震えおののく。ぶどうの収穫がむなしく、実を取り入れる時が来ないからだ。 |
| 32-11 |
Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. |
安んじている女たちよ、震え恐れよ。思い煩いなき女たちよ、震えおののけ。衣を脱ぎ、裸になって腰に荒布をまとえ。 |

They shall smite upon the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine. |
良き畑のため、実り豊かなぶどうの木のために胸を打て。 |
| 32-13 |
Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city. |
いばら、おどろの生えているわが民の地のため、喜びに満ちている町にあるすべての喜びの家のために胸を打て。 |
| 32-14 |
For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; |
宮殿は捨てられ、にぎわった町は荒れすたれ、丘と、やぐらとは、とこしえにほら穴となり、野のろばの楽しむ所、羊の群れの牧場となるからである。 |
| 32-15 |
until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest. |
しかし、ついには霊が上からわれわれの上にそそがれて、荒野は良き畑となり、良き畑は林のごとく見られるようになる。 |
| 32-16 |
Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field. |
その時、公平は荒野に住み、正義は良き畑にやどる。 |
| 32-17 |
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence for ever. |
正義は平和を生じ、正義の結ぶ実はとこしえの平安と信頼である。 |
| 32-18 |
And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places. |
わが民は平和の家におり、安らかなすみかにおり、静かな休み所におる。 |
| 32-19 |
But it shall hail in the downfall of the forest; and the city shall be utterly laid low. |
しかし林はことごとく切り倒され、町もことごとく倒される。 |
| 32-20 |
Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth the feet of the ox and the ass. |
すべての水のほとりに種をまき、牛およびろばを自由に放ちおくあなたがたは、さいわいである。 |
