| 33-1 |
Woe to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyed; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroy, thou shalt be destroyed; and when thou hast made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee. |
わざわいなるかな、おのれ自ら滅ぼされないのに、人を滅ぼし、だれも欺かないのに人を欺く者よ。あなたが滅ぼすことをやめたとき、あなたは滅ぼされ、あなたが欺くことを終えたとき、あなたは欺かれる。 |
| 33-2 |
O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble. |
主よ、われわれをお恵みください、われわれはあなたを待ち望む。朝ごとに、われわれの腕となり、悩みの時に、救となってください。 |
| 33-3 |
At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations are scattered. |
鳴りとどろく声によって、もろもろの民は逃げ去り、あなたが立ちあがられると、もろもろの国は散らされる。 |
| 33-4 |
And your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it. |
青虫が物を集めるようにぶんどり品は集められ、いなごのとびつどうように、人々はその上にとびつどう。 |
| 33-5 |
Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness. |
主は高くいらせられ、高い所に住まわれる。主はシオンに公平と正義とを満たされる。 |
| 33-6 |
And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure. |
また主は救と知恵と知識を豊かにして、あなたの代を堅く立てられる。主を恐れることはその宝である。 |
| 33-7 |
Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly. |
見よ、勇士たちは外にあって叫び、平和の使者はいたく嘆く。 |
| 33-8 |
The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: the enemy hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man. |
大路は荒れすたれて、旅びとは絶え、契約は破られ、証人は軽んぜられ、人を顧みることがない。 |
| 33-9 |
The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves. |
地は嘆き衰え、レバノンは恥じて枯れ、シャロンは荒野のようになり、バシャンとカルメルはその葉を落す。 |
| 33-10 |
Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted. |
主は言われる、「今わたしは起きよう、いま立ちあがろう、いま自らを高くしよう。 |
| 33-11 |
Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you. |
あなたがたは、もみがらをはらみ、わらを産む。あなたがたの息は火となって、あなたがたを食いつくす。 |
| 33-12 |
And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire. |
もろもろの民は焼かれて石灰のようになり、いばらが切られて火に燃やされたようになる」。 |
| 33-13 |
Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might. |
あなたがた遠くにいる者よ、わたしがおこなったことを聞け。あなたがた近くにいる者よ、わが大能を知れ。 |
| 33-14 |
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings? |
シオンの罪びとは恐れに満たされ、おののきは神を恐れない者を捕えた。「われわれのうち、だれが焼きつくす火の中におることができよう。われわれのうち、だれがとこしえの燃える火の中におることができよう」。 |

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil: |
正しく歩む者、正直に語る者、しえたげて得た利をいやしめる者、手を振って、まいないを取らない者、耳をふさいで血を流す謀略を聞かない者、目を閉じて悪を見ない者、 |
| 33-16 |
He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. |
このような人は高い所に住み、堅い岩はそのとりでとなり、そのパンは与えられ、その水は絶えることがない。 |
| 33-17 |
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar. |
あなたの目は麗しく飾った王を見、遠く広い国を見る。 |
| 33-18 |
Thy heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed the tribute? where is he that counted the towers? |
あなたの心はかの恐ろしかった事を思い出す。「数を調べた者はどこにいるか。みつぎを量った者はどこにいるか。やぐらを数えた者はどこにいるか」。 |
| 33-19 |
Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand. |
あなたはもはや高慢な民を見ない。かの民の言葉はあいまいで、聞きとりがたく、その舌はどもって、悟りがたい。 |
| 33-20 |
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. |
定めの祭の町シオンを見よ。あなたの目は平和なすまい、移されることのない幕屋エルサレムを見る。その綱は、ひとすじも断たれることはない。 |
| 33-21 |
But there Jehovah will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby. |
主は威厳をもってかしこにいまし、われわれのために広い川と流れのある所となり、その中には、こぐ舟も入らず、大きな船も過ぎることはない。 |
| 33-22 |
For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us. |
主はわれわれのさばき主、主はわれわれのつかさ、主はわれわれの王であって、われわれを救われる。 |
| 33-23 |
Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey. |
あなたの船綱は解けて、帆柱のもとを結びかためることができず、その時多くの獲物とぶんどり品は分けられ、足なえまでも獲物を取る。 |

And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity. |
そこに住む者のうちには、「わたしは病気だ」と言う者はなく、そこに住む民はその罪がゆるされる。 |
