| 34-1 |
Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth from it. |
もろもろの国よ、近づいて聞け。もろもろの民よ、耳を傾けよ。地とそれに満ちるもの、世界とそれから出るすべてのものよ、聞け。 |
| 34-2 |
For Jehovah hath indignation against all the nations, and wrath against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. |
主はすべての国にむかって怒り、そのすべての軍勢にむかって憤り、彼らをことごとく滅ぼし、彼らをわたして、ほふらせられた。 |

Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies shall come up; and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. |
彼らは殺されて投げすてられ、その死体の悪臭は立ちのぼり、山々はその血で溶けて流れる。 |
| 34-4 |
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading leaf from the fig-tree. |
天の万象は衰え、もろもろの天は巻物のように巻かれ、その万象はぶどうの木から葉の落ちるように、いちじくの木から葉の落ちるように落ちる。 |

For my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. |
わたしのつるぎは天において憤りをもって酔った。見よ、これはエドムの上にくだり、わたしが滅びに定めた民の上にくだって、これをさばく。 |

The sword of Jehovah is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for Jehovah hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom. |
主のつるぎは血で満ち、脂肪で肥え、小羊とやぎの血、雄羊の腎臓の脂肪で肥えている。主がボズラで犠牲の獣をほふり、エドムの地で大いに殺されたからである。 |

And the wild-oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls: and their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. |
野牛は彼らと共にほふり場にくだり、子牛は力ある雄牛と共にくだる。その国は血で酔い、その土は脂肪で肥やされる。 |

For Jehovah hath a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion. |
主はあだをかえす日をもち、シオンの訴えのために報いられる年をもたれるからである。 |
| 34-9 |
And the streams of Edom shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. |
エドムのもろもろの川は変って樹脂となり、その土は変って硫黄となり、その地は変って燃える樹脂となって、 |
| 34-10 |
It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever; from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever. |
夜も昼も消えず、その煙は、とこしえに立ちのぼる。これは世々荒れすたれて、とこしえまでもそこを通る者はない。 |

But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it; and the owl and the raven shall dwell therein: and he will stretch over it the line of confusion, and the plummet of emptiness. |
たかと、やまあらしとがそこをすみかとし、ふくろうと、からすがそこに住む。主はその上に荒廃をきたらせる測りなわを張り、尊い人々の上に混乱を起す下げ振りをさげられる。 |
| 34-12 |
They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all its princes shall be nothing. |
人々はこれを名づけて「国なき所」といい、その君たちは皆うせてなくなる。 |
| 34-13 |
And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof; and it shall be a habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches. |
そのとりでの上には、いばらが生え、その城には、いらくさと、あざみとが生え、山犬のすみか、だちょうのおる所となる。 |
| 34-14 |
And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest. |
野の獣はハイエナと出会い、鬼神はその友を呼び、夜の魔女もそこに降りてきて、休み所を得る。 |
| 34-15 |
There shall the dart-snake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shade; yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate. |
ふくろうはそこに巣をつくって卵を産み、それをかえして、そのひなを翼の陰に集める。とびもまた、おのおのその連れ合いと共に、そこに集まる。 |
| 34-16 |
Seek ye out of the book of Jehovah, and read: no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate; for my mouth, it hath commanded, and his Spirit, it hath gathered them. |
あなたがたは主の書をつまびらかにたずねて、これを読め。これらのものは一つも欠けることなく、また一つもその連れ合いを欠くものはない。これは主の口がこれを命じ、その霊が彼らを集められたからである。 |
| 34-17 |
And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever; from generation to generation shall they dwell therein. |
主は彼らのためにくじを引き、手ずから測りなわをもって、この地を分け与え、長く彼らに所有させ、世々ここに住まわせられる。 |
