| 49-1 |
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples, from far: Jehovah hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name: |
海沿いの国々よ、わたしに聞け。遠いところのもろもろの民よ、耳を傾けよ。主はわたしを生れ出た時から召し、母の胎を出た時からわが名を語り告げられた。 |
| 49-2 |
and he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me: and he hath made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he kept me close: |
主はわが口を鋭利なつるぎとなし、わたしをみ手の陰にかくし、とぎすました矢となして、箙にわたしを隠された。 |
| 49-3 |
and he said unto me, Thou art my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified. |
また、わたしに言われた、「あなたはわがしもべ、わが栄光をあらわすべきイスラエルである」と。 |
| 49-4 |
But I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nought and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with Jehovah, and my recompense with my God. |
しかし、わたしは言った、「わたしはいたずらに働き、益なく、むなしく力を費した。しかもなお、まことにわが正しきは主と共にあり、わが報いはわが神と共にある」と。 |
| 49-5 |
And now saith Jehovah that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered unto him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Jehovah, and my God is become my strength); |
ヤコブをおのれに帰らせ、イスラエルをおのれのもとに集めるために、わたしを腹の中からつくってそのしもべとされた主は言われる。（わたしは主の前に尊ばれ、わが神はわが力となられた） |
| 49-6 |
yea, he saith, It is too light a thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. |
主は言われる、「あなたがわがしもべとなって、ヤコブのもろもろの部族をおこし、イスラエルのうちの残った者を帰らせることは、いとも軽い事である。わたしはあなたを、もろもろの国びとの光となして、わが救を地の果にまでいたらせよう」と。 |
| 49-7 |
Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of Jehovah that is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee. |
イスラエルのあがない主、イスラエルの聖者なる主は、人に侮られる者、民に忌みきらわれる者、つかさたちのしもべにむかってこう言われる、「もろもろの王は見て、立ちあがり、もろもろの君は立って、拝する。これは真実なる主、イスラエルの聖者が、あなたを選ばれたゆえである」。 |
| 49-8 |
Thus saith Jehovah, In an acceptable time have I answered thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages; |
主はこう言われる、「わたしは恵みの時に、あなたに答え、救の日にあなたを助けた。わたしはあなたを守り、あなたを与えて民の契約とし、国を興し、荒れすたれた地を嗣業として継がせる。 |
| 49-9 |
saying to them that are bound, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture. |
わたしは捕えられた人に『出よ』と言い、暗きにおる者に『あらわれよ』と言う。彼らは道すがら食べることができ、すべての裸の山にも牧草を得る。 |
| 49-10 |
They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water will he guide them. |
彼らは飢えることがなく、かわくこともない。また熱い風も、太陽も彼らを撃つことはない。彼らをあわれむ者が彼らを導き、泉のほとりに彼らを導かれるからだ。 |
| 49-11 |
And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. |
わたしは、わがもろもろの山を道とし、わが大路を高くする。 |
| 49-12 |
Lo, these shall come from far; and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim. |
見よ、人々は遠くから来る。見よ、人々は北から西から、またスエネの地から来る」。 |
| 49-13 |
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for Jehovah hath comforted his people, and will have compassion upon his afflicted. |
天よ、歌え、地よ、喜べ。もろもろの山よ、声を放って歌え。主はその民を慰め、その苦しむ者をあわれまれるからだ。 |
| 49-14 |
But Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me. |
しかしシオンは言った、「主はわたしを捨て、主はわたしを忘れられた」と。 |
| 49-15 |
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, these may forget, yet will not I forget thee. |
「女がその乳のみ子を忘れて、その腹の子を、あわれまないようなことがあろうか。たとい彼らが忘れるようなことがあっても、わたしは、あなたを忘れることはない。 |
| 49-16 |
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. |
見よ、わたしは、たなごころにあなたを彫り刻んだ。あなたの石がきは常にわが前にある。 |
| 49-17 |
Thy children make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth from thee. |
あなたを建てる者は、あなたをこわす者を追い越し、あなたを荒した者は、あなたから出て行く。 |
| 49-18 |
Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith Jehovah, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all as with an ornament, and gird thyself with them, like a bride. |
あなたの目をあげて見まわせ。彼らは皆集まって、あなたのもとに来る。主は言われる、わたしは生きている、あなたは彼らを皆、飾りとして身につけ、花嫁の帯のようにこれを結ぶ。 |
| 49-19 |
For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. |
あなたの荒れ、かつすたれた所、こわされた地は、住む人の多いために狭くなり、あなたを、のみつくした者は、はるかに離れ去る。 |
| 49-20 |
The children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell. |
あなたが子を失った後に生れた子らは、なおあなたの耳に言う、『この所はわたしには狭すぎる、わたしのために住むべき所を得させよ』と。 |
| 49-21 |
Then shalt thou say in thy heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they? |
その時あなたは心のうちに言う、『だれがわたしのためにこれらの者を産んだのか。わたしは子を失って、子をもたない。わたしは捕われ、かつ追いやられた。だれがこれらの者を育てたのか。見よ、わたしはひとり残された。これらの者はどこから来たのか』と」。 |
| 49-22 |
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my ensign to the peoples; and they shall bring thy sons in their bosom, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. |
主なる神はこう言われる、「見よ、わたしは手をもろもろの国にむかってあげ、旗をもろもろの民にむかって立てる。彼らはそのふところにあなたの子らを携え、その肩にあなたの娘たちを載せて来る。 |
| 49-23 |
And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah; and they that wait for me shall not be put to shame. |
もろもろの王は、あなたの養父となり、その王妃たちは、あなたの乳母となり、彼らはその顔を地につけて、あなたにひれ伏し、あなたの足のちりをなめる。こうして、あなたはわたしが主であることを知る。わたしを待ち望む者は恥をこうむることがない」。 |
| 49-24 |
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered? |
勇士が奪った獲物をどうして取り返すことができようか。暴君がかすめた捕虜をどうして救い出すことができようか。 |
| 49-25 |
But thus saith Jehovah, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. |
しかし主はこう言われる、「勇士がかすめた捕虜も取り返され、暴君が奪った獲物も救い出される。わたしはあなたと争う者と争い、あなたの子らを救うからである。 |
| 49-26 |
26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. |
わたしはあなたをしえたげる者にその肉を食わせ、その血を新しい酒のように飲ませて酔わせる。こうして、すべての人はわたしが主であって、あなたの救主、またあなたのあがない主、ヤコブの全能者であることを知る |
