Let me sing for my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: |
わたしはわが愛する者のために、そのぶどう畑についてのわが愛の歌をうたおう。わが愛する者は土肥えた小山の上に、一つのぶどう畑をもっていた。 |

and he digged it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. |
彼はそれを掘りおこし、石を除き、それに良いぶどうを植え、その中に物見やぐらを建て、またその中に酒ぶねを掘り、良いぶどうの結ぶのを待ち望んだ。ところが結んだものは野ぶどうであった。 |

And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. |
それで、エルサレムに住む者とユダの人々よ、どうか、わたしとぶどう畑との間をさばけ。 |
| 5-4 |
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? |
わたしが、ぶどう畑になした事のほかに、何かなすべきことがあるか。わたしは良いぶどうの結ぶのを待ち望んだのに、わたしは良いぶどうの結ぶのを待ち望んだのに、どうして野ぶどうを結んだのか。 |

And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down: |
それで、わたしが、ぶどう畑になそうとすることを、あなたがたに告げる。わたしはそのまがきを取り去って、食い荒されるにまかせ、そのかきをとりこわして、踏み荒されるにまかせる。 |

and I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. |
わたしはこれを荒して、刈り込むことも、耕すこともせず、おどろと、いばらとを生えさせ、また雲に命じて、その上に雨を降らさない。 |

For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry. |
万軍の主のぶどう畑はイスラエルの家であり、主が喜んでそこに植えられた物は、ユダの人々である。ユダの人々である。主はこれに公平を望まれたのに、見よ、流血。正義を望まれたのに、見よ、叫び。 |

Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land! |
わざわいなるかな、彼らは家に家を建て連ね、田畑に田畑をまし加えて、余地をあまさず、自分ひとり、国のうちに住まおうとする。 |

In mine ears saith Jehovah of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant. |
万軍の主はわたしの耳に誓って言われた、「必ずや多くの家は荒れすたれ、大きな麗しい家も住む者がないようになる。 |
| 5-10 |
For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield but an ephah. |
十反のぶどう畑もわずかに一バテの実を結び、一ホメルの種もわずかに一エパの実を結ぶ」。 |
| 5-11 |
Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them! |
わざわいなるかな、彼らは朝早く起きて、濃き酒をおい求め、夜のふけるまで飲みつづけて、酒にその身を焼かれている。 |
| 5-12 |
And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands. |
彼らの酒宴には琴あり、立琴あり、鼓あり笛あり、ぶどう酒がある。しかし彼らは主のみわざを顧みず、み手のなされる事に目をとめない。 |
| 5-13 |
Therefore my people are gone into captivity for lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst. |
それゆえ、わが民は無知のために、とりこにせられ、その尊き者は飢えて死に、そのもろもろの民は、かわきによって衰えはてる。 |
| 5-14 |
Therefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend into it. |
また陰府はその欲望を大きくし、その口を限りなく開き、エルサレムの貴族、そのもろもろの民、その群集およびそのうちの喜びたのしめる者はみなその中に落ちこむ。 |
| 5-15 |
And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled: |
人はかがめられ、人々は低くせられ、高ぶる者の目は低くされる。 |
| 5-16 |
but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness. |
しかし万軍の主は公平によってあがめられ、聖なる神は正義によって、おのれを聖なる者として示される。 |
| 5-17 |
Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat. |
こうして小羊は自分の牧場におるように草をはみ、肥えた家畜および子やぎは荒れ跡の中で食を得る。 |
| 5-18 |
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope; |
わざわいなるかな、彼らは偽りのなわをもって悪を引きよせ、車の綱をもってするように罪を引きよせる。 |
| 5-19 |
that say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! |
彼らは言う、「彼を急がせ、そのわざをすみやかにさせよ、それを見せてもらおう。イスラエルの聖者の定める事を近づききたらせよ、それを見せてもらおう」と。 |
| 5-20 |
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! |
わざわいなるかな、彼らは悪を呼んで善といい、善を呼んで悪といい、暗きを光とし、光を暗しとし、苦きを甘しとし、甘きを苦しとする。 |
| 5-21 |
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! |
わざわいなるかな、彼らはおのれを見て、賢しとし、みずから顧みて、さとしとする。 |
| 5-22 |
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink; |
わざわいなるかな、彼らはぶどう酒を飲むことの英雄であり、濃き酒をまぜ合わせることの勇士である。 |
| 5-23 |
that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! |
彼らはまいないによって悪しき者を義とし、義人からその義を奪う。 |
| 5-24 |
Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. |
それゆえ、火の舌が刈り株を食い尽すように、枯れ草が炎の中に消えうせるように、彼らの根は朽ちたものとなり、彼らの花はちりのように飛び去る。彼らは万軍の主の律法を捨て、イスラエルの聖者の言葉を侮ったからである。 |

Therefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. |
それゆえ、主はその民にむかって怒りを発し、み手を伸べて彼らを撃たれた。山は震い動き、彼らのしかばねは、ちまたの中で、彼らのしかばねは、ちまたの中で、あくたのようになった。それにもかかわらず、み怒りはやまず、なお、み手を伸ばされる。 |
| 5-26 |
And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly. |
主は旗をあげて遠くから一つの国民を招き、地の果から彼らを呼ばれる。見よ、彼らは走って、すみやかに来る。 |
| 5-27 |
None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken: |
その中には疲れる者も、つまずく者もなく、まどろむ者も、眠る者もない。その腰の帯はとけず、そのくつのひもは切れていない。 |
| 5-28 |
whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses’ hoofs shall be accounted as flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind: |
その矢は鋭く、その弓はことごとく張り、その馬のひずめは火打石のように、その車の輪はつむじ風のように思われる。 |
| 5-29 |
their roaring shall be like a lioness, they shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver. |
そのほえることは、ししのように、若いししのようにほえ、うなって獲物を捕え、かすめ去っても救う者がない。 |
| 5-30 |
And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof. |
その日、その鳴りどよめくことは、海の鳴りどよめくようだ。もし地をのぞむならば、見よ、暗きと悩みとがあり、光は雲によって暗くなる。 |
