| 54-1 |
Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith Jehovah. |
「子を産まなかったうまずめよ、歌え。産みの苦しみをしなかった者よ、声を放って歌いよばわれ。夫のない者の子は、とついだ者の子よりも多い」と主は言われる。 |

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. |
「あなたの天幕の場所を広くし、あなたのすまいの幕を張りひろげ、惜しむことなく、あなたの綱を長くし、あなたの杭を強固にせよ。 |

For thou shalt spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. |
あなたは右に左にひろがり、あなたの子孫はもろもろの国を獲、荒れすたれた町々をも住民で満たすからだ。 |
| 54-4 |
Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth; and the reproach of thy widowhood shalt thou remember no more. |
恐れてはならない。あなたは恥じることがない。あわてふためいてはならない。あなたは、はずかしめられることがない。あなたは若い時の恥を忘れ、寡婦であった時のはずかしめを、再び思い出すことがない。 |

For thy Maker is thy husband; Jehovah of hosts is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is thy Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called. |
あなたを造られた者はあなたの夫であって、その名は万軍の主。あなたをあがなわれる者は、あなたをあがなわれる者は、イスラエルの聖者であって、全地の神ととなえられる。 |

For Jehovah hath called thee as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off, saith thy God. |
捨てられて心悲しむ妻、また若い時にとついで出された妻を招くように主はあなたを招かれた」とあなたの神は言われる。 |
| 54-7 |
For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. |
「わたしはしばしばあなたを捨てたけれども、大いなるあわれみをもってあなたを集める。 |
| 54-8 |
In overflowing wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting lovingkindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Jehovah thy Redeemer. |
あふれる憤りをもって、しばしわが顔を隠したけれども、とこしえのいつくしみをもって、あなたをあわれむ」とあなたをあがなわれる主は言われる。 |
| 54-9 |
For this is as the waters of Noah unto me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. |
「このことはわたしにはノアの時のようだ。わたしはノアの洪水を、再び地にあふれさせないと誓ったが、そのように、わたしは再びあなたを怒らない、再びあなたを責めないと誓った。 |

For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my lovingkindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed, saith Jehovah that hath mercy on thee. |
山は移り、丘は動いても、わがいつくしみはあなたから移ることなく、平安を与えるわが契約は動くことがない」とあなたをあわれまれる主は言われる。 |

O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will set thy stones in fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. |
「苦しみをうけ、あらしにもてあそばれ、慰めを得ない者よ、見よ、わたしはアンチモニーであなたの石をすえ、サファイヤであなたの基をおき、 |
| 54-12 |
And I will make thy pinnacles of rubies, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy border of precious stones. |
めのうであなたの尖塔を造り、紅玉であなたの門を造り、あなたの城壁をことごとく宝石で造る。 |
| 54-13 |
And all thy children shall be taught of Jehovah; and great shall be the peace of thy children. |
あなたの子らはみな主に教をうけ、あなたの子らは大いに栄える。 |
| 54-14 |
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee. |
あなたは義をもって堅く立ち、しえたげから遠ざかって恐れることはない。また恐怖から遠ざかる、それはあなたに近づくことがないからである。 |
| 54-15 |
Behold, they may gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall because of thee. |
たとい争いを起す者があってもわたしによるのではない。すべてあなたと争う者は、あなたのゆえに倒れる。 |
| 54-16 |
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the fire of coals, and bringeth forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. |
見よ、炭火を吹きおこして、その目的にかなう武器を造り出す鍛冶は、わたしが創造した者、また荒し滅ぼす者も、わたしが創造した者である。 |
| 54-17 |
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness which is of me, saith Jehovah. |
すべてあなたを攻めるために造られる武器は、その目的を達しない。すべてあなたに逆らい立って、争い訴える舌は、あなたに説き破られる。あなたに説き破られる。また彼らがわたしから受ける義である」と主は言われる。 |
