Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. |
「さあ、かわいている者はみな水にきたれ。金のない者もきたれ。来て買い求めて食べよ。あなたがたは来て、金を出さずに、ただでぶどう酒と乳とを買い求めよ。 |

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. |
なぜ、あなたがたは、かてにもならぬもののために金を費し、飽きることもできぬもののために労するのか。わたしによく聞き従え。そうすれば、良い物を食べることができ、最も豊かな食物で、自分を楽しませることができる。 |

Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. |
耳を傾け、わたしにきて聞け。そうすれば、あなたがたは生きることができる。わたしは、あなたがたと、とこしえの契約を立てて、ダビデに約束した変らない確かな恵みを与える。 |

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples. |
見よ、わたしは彼を立てて、もろもろの民への証人とし、また、もろもろの民の君とし、命令する者とした。 |
| 55-5 |
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not; and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee, because of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. |
見よ、あなたは知らない国民を招く、あなたを知らない国民はあなたのもとに走ってくる。これはあなたの神、主、イスラエルの聖者のゆえであり、主があなたに光栄を与えられたからである。 |

Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near: |
あなたがたは主にお会いすることのできるうちに、主を尋ねよ。近くおられるうちに呼び求めよ。 |
| 55-7 |
let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. |
悪しき者はその道を捨て、正らぬ人はその思いを捨てて、主に帰れ。そうすれば、主は彼にあわれみを施される。われわれの神に帰れ、主は豊かにゆるしを与えられる。 |

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. |
わが思いは、あなたがたの思いとは異なり、わが道は、あなたがたの道とは異なっていると主は言われる。 |
| 55-9 |
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. |
天が地よりも高いように、わが道は、あなたがたの道よりも高く、わが思いは、あなたがたの思いよりも高い。 |
| 55-10 |
For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater; |
天から雨が降り、雪が落ちてまた帰らず、地を潤して物を生えさせ、芽を出させて、種まく者に種を与え、食べる者にかてを与える。 |

so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. |
このように、わが口から出る言葉も、むなしくわたしに帰らない。わたしの喜ぶところのことをなし、わたしが命じ送った事を果す。 |

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands. |
あなたがたは喜びをもって出てきて、安らかに導かれて行く。山と丘とはあなたの前に声を放って喜び歌い、野にある木はみな手を打つ。 |

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to Jehovah for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. |
いとすぎは、いばらに代って生え、ミルトスの木は、おどろに代って生える。これは主の記念となり、また、とこしえのしるしとなって、絶えることはない」。 |
