| 16-1 |
The word of Jehovah came also unto me, saying, |
主の言葉はまたわたしに臨んだ、 |
| 16-2 |
Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters, in this place. |
「あなたはこの所で妻をめとってはならない。またむすこ娘を持ってはならない。 |
| 16-3 |
For thus saith Jehovah concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land: |
この所で生れるむすこ娘と、この地でこれを産む母たちと、これを生む父たちとについて主はこう言われる、 |
| 16-4 |
They shall die grievous deaths: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung upon the face of the ground; and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth. |
彼らは死の病にかかって死に、哀悼する者もなく、埋葬する者もなく、地のおもてに、糞土のようになる。またつるぎと、ききんに滅ぼされて、その死体は空の鳥と地の獣の食い物となる。 |

For thus saith Jehovah, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, even lovingkindness and tender mercies. |
主はこう言われる、喪のある家に、はいってはならない。また行って、それを悲しみ嘆いてはならない。わたしがこの民からわたしの平安と、いつくしみと、あわれみとを取り去ったからであると、主は言われる。 |
| 16-6 |
Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them; |
大いなる者も小さき者も、この地に死ぬ。彼らは葬られず、また彼らのために悲しむ者もなく、自分の身を傷つける者もなく、髪をそる者もない。 |
| 16-7 |
neither shall men break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. |
悲しむ者のためにパンをさいて、死者のためにこれを慰める者はなく、また父あるいは母のために慰めの杯をこれに与えて飲ませる者もない。 |
| 16-8 |
And thou shalt not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink. |
またあなたは宴会をする家にはいって、人々と共にすわって食い飲みしてはならない。 |
| 16-9 |
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. |
万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる、見よ、あなたの目の前で、あなたのなおこの世にいる間に、わたしは喜びの声と楽しみの声、花婿の声と花嫁の声とをこの所に絶やしてしまう。 |

And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt show this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against Jehovah our God? |
あなたがこのすべての言葉をこの民に告げるとき、彼らがあなたに尋ねて、『主がわれわれにこの大きな災を宣告されるのはどうしてですか。われわれにどんな悪い所があるのですか。われわれの神、主にそむいて、われわれが犯した罪とはなんですか』と言うならば、 |
| 16-11 |
Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; |
あなたは彼らに答えなければならない、『主は仰せられる、それはあなたがたの先祖がわたしを捨てて他の神々に従い、これに仕え、これを拝し、またわたしを捨て、わたしの律法を守らなかったからである。 |
| 16-12 |
and ye have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that ye hearken not unto me: |
あなたがたは、あなたがたの先祖よりも、いっそう悪いことをした。見よ、あなたがたはおのおの自分の悪い強情な心に従い、わたしに聞き従うことはしない。 |
| 16-13 |
therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that ye have not known, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor. |
それゆえ、わたしはあなたがたをこの地より追い出し、あなたがたも、あなたがたの先祖も知らない地に行かせる。その所であなたがたは昼夜、ほかの神々に仕えるようになる。これはわたしがあなたがたにあわれみを示さないからである』と。 |
| 16-14 |
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that it shall no more be said, As Jehovah liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; |
主は言われる、それゆえ、見よ、こののち『イスラエルの民をエジプトの地から導き出した主は生きておられる』とは言わないで、 |
| 16-15 |
but, As Jehovah liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries whither he had driven them. And I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. |
『イスラエルの民を北の国と、そのすべて追いやられた国々から導き出した主は生きておられる』という日がくる。わたしが彼らを、その先祖に与えた彼らの地に導きかえすからである。 |
| 16-16 |
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith Jehovah, and they shall fish them up; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. |
主は言われる、見よ、わたしは多くの漁夫を呼んできて、彼らをすなどらせ、また、そののち多くの猟師を呼んできて、もろもろの山、もろもろの丘、および岩の裂け目から彼らをかり出させる。 |
| 16-17 |
For mine eyes are upon all their ways; they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from mine eyes. |
わたしの目は彼らのすべての道を見ているからである。みなわたしに隠れてはいない。またその悪はわたしの目に隠れることはない。 |
| 16-18 |
And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled mine inheritance with their abominations. |
わたしはその悪とその罪の報いを二倍にする。彼らがその忌むべき偶像の死体をもって、わたしの地を汚し、その憎むべきものをもって、わたしの嗣業を満たしたからである」。 |
| 16-19 |
O Jehovah, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, unto thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nought but lies, even vanity and things wherein there is no profit. |
主、わが力、わが城、悩みの時の、のがれ場よ、万国の民は地の果からあなたのもとにきて申します、「われわれの先祖が受け嗣いだのは、ただ偽りと、役に立たないつまらない事ばかりです。 |
| 16-20 |
Shall a man make unto himself gods, which yet are no gods? |
人が自分で神々を造ることができましょうか。そういうものは神ではありません」。 |
| 16-21 |
Therefore, behold, I will cause them to know, this once will I cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Jehovah. |
「それゆえ、見よ、わたしは彼らに知らせよう。すなわち、この際わたしの力と、わたしの勢いとを知らせよう。彼らはわたしの名が、主であることを知るようになる」。 |
