| 17-1 |
The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars; |
「ユダの罪は、鉄の筆、金剛石のとがりをもってしるされ、彼らの心の碑と、祭壇の角に彫りつけられている。 |

whilst their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees upon the high hills. |
彼らの子供たちは青木の下と、高い丘の上、野の山の上にある祭壇とアシラのことを覚えている。 |
| 17-3 |
O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures for a spoil, and thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders. |
わたしはあなたの富とすべての宝とを、あなたの全領域の内で犯した罪の代価として、ぶんどり物とならせる。 |
| 17-4 |
And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue from thy heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger which shall burn for ever. |
わたしがあなたに与えた嗣業からあなたは手をはなすようになる。またわたしは、あなたの知らない地で、あなたの敵に仕えさせる。わたしの怒りによって、火は点じられ、いつまでも燃え続けるからである」。 |
| 17-5 |
Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from Jehovah. |
主はこう言われる、「おおよそ人を頼みとし肉なる者を自分の腕とし、その心が主を離れている人は、のろわれる。 |
| 17-6 |
For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited. |
彼は荒野に育つ小さい木のように、何も良いことの来るのを見ない。荒野の、干上がった所に住み、人の住まない塩地にいる。 |
| 17-7 |
Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah, and whose trust Jehovah is. |
おおよそ主にたより、主を頼みとする人はさいわいである。 |
| 17-8 |
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat cometh, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. |
彼は水のほとりに植えた木のようで、その根を川にのばし、暑さにあっても恐れることはない。その葉は常に青く、ひでりの年にも憂えることなく、絶えず実を結ぶ」。 |
| 17-9 |
The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? |
心はよろずの物よりも偽るもので、はなはだしく悪に染まっている。だれがこれを、よく知ることができようか。 |
| 17-10 |
I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. |
「主であるわたしは心を探り、思いを試みる。おのおのに、その道にしたがい、その行いの実によって報いをするためである」。 |
| 17-11 |
As the partridge that sitteth on eggs which she hath not laid, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool. |
しゃこが自分が産んだのではない卵を抱くように、不正な財産を得る者がある。その人は一生の半ばにそれから離れて、その終りには愚かな者となる。 |

A glorious throne, set on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary. |
初めから高くあげられた栄えあるみ座は、われわれの聖所のある所である。 |
| 17-13 |
O Jehovah, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be put to shame. They that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Jehovah, the fountain of living waters. |
またイスラエルの望みである主よ、あなたを捨てる者はみな恥をかき、あなたを離れる者は土に名をしるされます。それは生ける水の源である主を捨てたからです。 |
| 17-14 |
Heal me, O Jehovah, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. |
主よ、わたしをいやしてください、そうすれば、わたしはいえます。わたしをお救いください、そうすれば、わたしは救われます。あなたはわたしのほめたたえる者だからです。 |
| 17-15 |
Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of Jehovah? let it come now. |
彼らはわたしに言います、「主の言葉はどこにあるのか。今、それを出して見せよ」と。 |
| 17-16 |
As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after thee; neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was before thy face. |
悪をつかわされるようにとは、わたしはたって求めませんでした。また災の日を願わなかったのを、あなたはごぞんじです。わたしのくちびるから出たことは、み前にあります。 |
| 17-17 |
Be not a terror unto me: thou art my refuge in the day of evil. |
どうか、わたしを恐れさせないでください。災のときに、あなたはわたしののがれ場です。 |
| 17-18 |
Let them be put to shame that persecute me, but let not me be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed; bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction. |
わたしを攻め悩ます者をはずかしめてください。しかしわたしをはずかしめないでください。彼らを恐れさせてください。しかしわたしを恐れさせないでください。災の日を彼らにきたらせ、滅びを倍にして彼らを滅ぼしてください。 |
| 17-19 |
Thus said Jehovah unto me: Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem; |
主はわたしにこう言われた、「行って、ユダの王たちの出入りするベニヤミンの門、およびエルサレムのすべての門に立って、 |

and say unto them, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates: |
言いなさい、『これらの門からはいるユダの王たち、およびユダのすべての民とエルサレムに住むすべての者よ、主の言葉を聞きなさい。 |
| 17-21 |
Thus saith Jehovah, Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; |
主はこう言われる、命が惜しいならば気をつけるがよい。安息日に荷をたずさえ、またはそれを持ってエルサレムの門にはいってはならない。 |
| 17-22 |
neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work: but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. |
また安息日にあなたがたの家から荷を運び出してはならない。なんのわざをもしてはならない。わたしがあなたがたの先祖に命じたように安息日を聖別して守りなさい。 |
| 17-23 |
But they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction. |
しかし彼らは従わず耳を傾けず、聞くことも、戒めをうけることをも強情に拒んだ。 |
| 17-24 |
And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith Jehovah, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; |
主は言われる、もしあなたがたがわたしに聞き従い、安息日に荷をたずさえてこの町の門にはいらず、安息日を聖別して、なんのわざをもしないならば、 |
| 17-25 |
then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain for ever. |
ダビデの位に座する王たち、つかさたち、ユダの人々、エルサレムに住む者は、車と馬に乗ってこの町の門からはいることができる。そしてこの町には長く人が住むようになる。 |
| 17-26 |
And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowland, and from the hill-country, and from the South, bringing burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meal-offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving, unto the house of Jehovah. |
また人々はユダの町々やエルサレムの周囲、ベニヤミンの地、平地と山地およびネゲブから来て燔祭、犠牲、素祭、乳香、感謝祭をたずさえて主の家にはいる。 |
| 17-27 |
But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched. |
しかし、もしあなたがたがわたしに聞き従わないで、安息日を聖別して守ることをせず、安息日に荷をたずさえてエルサレムの門にはいるならば、わたしは火をその門の中に燃やして、エルサレムのもろもろの宮殿を焼き滅ぼす。その火は消えることがない』」。 |
