| 22-1 |
Thus said Jehovah: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word, |
主はこう言われる、「ユダの王の家に下り、その所にこの言葉をのべて、 |
| 22-2 |
And say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates. |
言いなさい、『ダビデの位にすわるユダの王よ、あなたと、あなたの家臣、および、この門からはいるあなたの民は主の言葉を聞きなさい。 |
| 22-3 |
Thus saith Jehovah: Execute ye justice and righteousness, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the sojourner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place. |
主はこう言われる、公平と正義を行い、物を奪われた人を、しえたげる者の手から救い、異邦の人、孤児、寡婦を悩まし、しえたげてはならない。またこの所に、罪なき者の血を流してはならない。 |
| 22-4 |
For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people. |
もしあなたがたがこの言葉を真実に行うならば、ダビデの位にすわる王とその家臣、およびその民は、車と馬に乗って、この家の門にはいることができる。 |
| 22-5 |
But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith Jehovah, that this house shall become a desolation. |
しかしあなたがたがこの言葉を聞かないならば、わたしは自身をさして誓うが、この家は荒れ地となると、主は言われる。 |
| 22-6 |
For thus saith Jehovah concerning the house of the king of Judah: Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon; yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited. |
主はユダの王の家についてこう言われる、あなたはわたしに対してギレアデのようであり、レバノンの頂のようである。しかし、わたしは必ずあなたを荒れ地にし、人の住まない町にする。 |
| 22-7 |
And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons; and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire. |
わたしは滅ぼす者を設けて、あなたを攻めさせる、彼らはおのおのその武器をとり、あなたの麗しい香柏を切り倒し、火に投げ入れる。 |
| 22-8 |
And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this great city? |
多くの国の人はこの町を過ぎ、互に語って、「なぜ主はこの大いなる町をこのようにされたのか」と言うとき、 |
| 22-9 |
Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them. |
人は答えて、「これは彼らがその神、主の契約を捨てて他の神々を拝し、これに仕えたからである」と言うであろう』」。 |
| 22-10 |
Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him; but weep sore for him that goeth away; for he shall return no more, nor see his native country. |
死んだ者のために泣くことなく、またそのために嘆いてはならない。捕え移されてゆく者のために、激しく泣け。彼はふたたび帰ってきて、その故郷を見ることがないからである。 |
| 22-11 |
For thus saith Jehovah touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went forth out of this place: He shall not return thither any more. |
ユダの王ヨシヤの子シャルムは父ヨシヤについで王となったが、ついにこの所から出て行った。主は彼についてこう言われる、「彼は再びここに帰らない。 |
| 22-12 |
But in the place whither they have led him captive, there shall he die, and he shall see this land no more. |
彼はその捕え行かれた所で死に、再びこの地を見ない」。 |
| 22-13 |
Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; that useth his neighbor’s service without wages, and giveth him not his hire; |
「不義をもってその家を建て、不法をもってその高殿を造り、隣り人を雇って何をも与えず、その賃金を払わない者はわざわいである。 |
| 22-14 |
that saith, I will build me a wide house and spacious chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermilion. |
彼は言う、『わたしは自分のために大きな家を建て、広い高殿を造ろう』と。そしてこれがために窓を造り、香柏の鏡板でおおい、それを朱で塗る。 |
| 22-15 |
Shalt thou reign, because thou strivest to excel in cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? then it was well with him. |
あなたは競って香柏を用いることによって、王であると思うのか。あなたの父は食い飲みし、公平と正義を行って、幸を得たのではないか。 |
| 22-16 |
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah. |
彼は貧しい人と乏しい人の訴えをただして、さいわいを得た。こうすることがわたしを知ることではないかと主は言われる。 |
| 22-17 |
But thine eyes and thy heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for shedding innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it. |
しかし、あなたは目も心も、不正な利益のためにのみ用い、罪なき者の血を流そうとし、圧制と暴虐を行おうとする」。 |
| 22-18 |
Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! They shall not lament for him, saying Ah lord! or, Ah his glory! |
それゆえ、主はユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムについてこう言われる、「人々は『悲しいかな、わが兄』、『悲しいかな、わが姉』と言って、彼のために嘆かない。また『悲しいかな、主君よ』、『悲しいかな、陛下よ』と言って嘆かない。 |
| 22-19 |
He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem. |
ろばが埋められるように、彼は葬られる。引かれて行って、エルサレムの門の外に投げ捨てられる」。 |
| 22-20 |
Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all thy lovers are destroyed. |
「レバノンに登って呼ばわり、バシャンにあなたの声をあげ、アバリムから呼ばわれ。あなたの愛する者がみな滅ぼされるからだ。 |
| 22-21 |
I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice. |
あなたの栄えていた時、わたしはあなたに語ったが『聞きたくはない』と言った。あなたがわたしの声に聞き従わないことは、あなたの幼い時からの、ならわしであった。 |
| 22-22 |
The wind shall feed all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness. |
あなたの牧者はみな、風に追い立てられ、あなたの愛する者は捕え移される。その時、あなたは自分のもろもろの悪のために、恥じ、うろたえる。 |
| 22-23 |
O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail! |
レバノンに住み、香柏の中に巣をつくっている者よ、子を産む女に臨む苦しみのような苦痛があなたに臨むとき、あなたはどんなに嘆くことであろうか」。 |
| 22-24 |
As I live, saith Jehovah, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence; |
「主は言われる、わたしは生きている。ユダの王エホヤキムの子コニヤが、わたしの右手の指輪であっても、わたしはあなたを抜き取る。 |
| 22-25 |
and I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them of whom thou art afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans. |
あなたの命を求める者の手、あなたがその顔を恐れる者の手、すなわちバビロンの王ネブカデレザルの手と、カルデヤびとの手にあなたを渡す。 |
| 22-26 |
And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die. |
わたしは、あなたと、あなたを産んだ母を、あなたがたの生れた国でない他の国に追いやる。あなたがたはそこで死ぬ。 |
| 22-27 |
But to the land whereunto their soul longeth to return, thither shall they not return. |
彼らが帰りたいとせつに願う国に、彼らは再び帰ることができない」。 |
| 22-28 |
Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel wherein none delighteth? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they know not? |
この人コニヤは卑しむべき、こわれたつぼであろうか、だれも心に留めない器であろうか。なぜ彼とその子孫は追いやられて、知らない地に投げやられるのか。 |
| 22-29 |
O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Jehovah. |
ああ、地よ、地よ、地よ、主の言葉を聞けよ。 |
| 22-30 |
Thus saith Jehovah, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no more shall a man of his seed prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling in Judah. |
主はこう言われる、「この人を、子なき人として、またその一生のうち、栄えることのない人として記録せよ。その子孫のうち、ひとりも栄えて、ダビデの位にすわり、ユダを治めるものが再び起らないからである」。 |
