| 35-1 |
The word which came unto Jeremiah from Jehovah in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, |
ユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムの時、主からエレミヤに臨んだ言葉。 |

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of Jehovah, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink. |
「レカブびとの家に行って、彼らと語り、彼らを主の宮の一室に連れてきて、酒を飲ませなさい」。 |
| 35-3 |
Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; |
そこでわたしはハバジニヤの子エレミヤの子であるヤザニヤと、その兄弟と、そのむすこたち、およびレカブびとの全家を連れ、 |

and I brought them into the house of Jehovah, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold. |
これを主の宮にあるハナンの子たちの室に連れてきた。ハナンはイグダリヤの子であって神の人であった。その室は、つかさたちの室の次にあって、門を守るシャルムの子マアセヤの室の上にあった。 |

And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said unto them, Drink ye wine. |
わたしはレカブびとの前に酒を満たしたつぼと杯を置き、彼らに、「酒を飲みなさい」と言ったが、 |

But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons, for ever: |
彼らは答えた、「われわれは酒を飲みません。それは、レカブの子であるわれわれの先祖ヨナダブがわれわれに命じて、『あなたがたとあなたがたの子孫はいつまでも酒を飲んではならない。 |

neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land wherein ye sojourn. |
また家を建てず、種をまかず、またぶどう畑を植えてはならない。またこれを所有してはならない。あなたがたは生きながらえる間は幕屋に住んでいなさい。そうするならば、あなたがたはその宿っている地に長く生きることができると言ったからです』。 |
| 35-8 |
And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters; |
こうしてわれわれは、レカブの子であるわれわれの先祖ヨナダブがすべて命じた言葉に従って、われわれも、妻も、むすこ娘も生きながらえる間、酒を飲まず、 |

nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: |
住む家を建てず、ぶどう畑も畑も種も持たないで、 |

but we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. |
幕屋に住み、すべてわれわれの先祖ヨナダブがわれわれに命じたところに従い、そのように行いました。 |
| 35-11 |
But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Jerusalem. |
しかしバビロンの王ネブカデレザルがこの地に上ってきた時、われわれは言いました、『さあ、われわれはエルサレムへ行こう。カルデヤびとの軍勢とスリヤびとの軍勢が恐ろしい』と。こうしてわれわれはエルサレムに住んでいるのです」。 |

Then came the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying, |
その時、主の言葉がエレミヤに臨んだ、 |
| 35-13 |
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith Jehovah. |
「万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる、行って、ユダの人々とエルサレムに住む者とに告げよ。主は仰せられる、あなたがたはわたしの言葉を聞いて教を受けないのか。 |
| 35-14 |
The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and unto this day they drink none, for they obey their father’s commandment: but I have spoken unto you, rising up early and speaking; and ye have not hearkened unto me. |
レカブの子ヨナダブがその子孫に酒を飲むなと命じた言葉は守られてきた。彼らは今日に至るまで酒を飲まず、その先祖の命に従ってきた。ところがあなたがたはわたしがしきりに語ったけれども、わたしに聞き従わなかった。 |
| 35-15 |
I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. |
わたしはまた、わたしのしもべである預言者たちを、しきりにあなたがたにつかわして言わせた、『あなたがたは今おのおのその悪い道を離れ、その行いを改めなさい。ほかの神々に従い仕えてはならない。そうすれば、あなたがたはわたしがあなたがたと、あなたがたの先祖に与えたこの地に住むことができる』と。しかしあなたがたは耳を傾けず、わたしに聞かなかった。 |
| 35-16 |
Forasmuch as the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people hath not hearkened unto me; |
レカブの子ヨナダブの子孫は、その先祖が彼らに命じた命令を守っているのである。しかしこの民はわたしに従わなかった。 |
| 35-17 |
therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered. |
それゆえ万軍の神、主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、見よ、わたしはユダとエルサレムに住む者とに、わたしが彼らの上に宣告した災を下す。わたしが彼らに語っても聞かず、彼らを呼んでも答えなかったからである」。 |

And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he commanded you; |
ところでエレミヤはレカブびとの家の人々に言った、「万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう仰せられる、あなたがたは先祖ヨナダブの命に従い、そのすべての戒めを守り、彼があなたがたに命じた事を行った。 |
| 35-19 |
therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever. |
それゆえ、万軍の主、イスラエルの神はこう言われる、レカブの子ヨナダブには、わたしの前に立つ人がいつまでも欠けることはない」。 |
